Quiet flat day is a good day - getting that gap to some of the better puncheurs would have been a welcome surprise though

I don't love to see Madrazo finishing 59th when many of the main GC riders are in the 20s and 30s, but maybe I'm overly paranoid after his first few races. El Sabbahi made a very brief appearance close to the front a few kilometers from the finish but apparently then didn't bother. Not that I can expect much else, to be fair.
Great result for Dainese on home turf, congrats ember! And thanks for the report

Nothing much for us today. Let's see if we can make something out of the rest of this week's stages.

Looking forward to the hilly stages with Strakhov and Trakhov, but I don't think a breakaway can battle it out for the stage win this early into the race.

I have to admit, that I made a small "YES!" shout after seeing Grosu win this. It felt personal for some odd reason - but it has been long due and great to see him finally get a solid win!
Lecuisinier attentive is good to see aswell...
For myself I guess having Giannoutsos and Mavrikakis in the first group is the best we could hope for here. I have regretted bringing Farantakis here though.
Thanks for some very nice reports so far.

My apologies for the late entrance to the party. Thanks for a great preview and the reports so far
Hoped to see Abdul Halil present in the sprints, but it's a no-show so far. Hope he can turn it around sometime soon, although the competition definitely isn't the weakest.
Nice to see Kelderman try in the third stage. It was always going to be difficult to stay ahead on a course as 'easy' as this one for him, but you won't know until you try. Having Demare and Yates here won't help his chances of winning a stage, but it's obvious to see why they both came to the Giro. Nice to see Munoz still being in the first peloton and scoring some points. Although maybe I need to hope for him to actually lose some time now?
Congratulations to all stage winners so far, and thanks again for the great reports, Ulrich!

We didn't play it too smart with three at the front but at the end Gayral did nice to hang on for the KOM jersey, so good stage. This shouldn't have been a stage for the pack though, but nice for Grosu that they and finally he good lucky. Good try also from Tao and Hurt at the end, I liked that.

Nice surprise win by Grosu, congratulations, alex!
For us, that was a disappointing stage, as we hoped Amezawa would contest such stages. Dropping very early not the way to go, then! |

What a win from Grosu, he was on the front and even attacking towards the end - he must have been on fire today. Congrats Alex!

Very happy to see that Madrazo sprints for a good stage result on a day like this and manages a Top 10. That leaves me much more confident regarding his standing with the AI. Not ideal that he's our only rider in the first group, but no big deal yet ...
What a performance by Grosu to beat Demare on this kind of stage. Congrats alex!

Nice to see Lecusinier always well positioned throughout the stages and it's a much appreciated bonus to see him getting a 4th place on a stage like this. Could be very valuable in the fight for the points classification and nets a few ranking points immediately

So Goos is the team leader now it seems.
Carboni, Ciccone +4'18
Let`s just say, they plan to go for the KoM competition later on didn`t wait for Groenewegen.
Munoz might not have been the most suited for the break, but good to see the team active.
Congrats alexkr for the win, Puma missed to make it a double here and thanks for the nice report. |

Well, that was incredibly bad from Kelderman (and Munoz), really not understandable. Good news is Munoz now has more freedom during mtn stages I hope.
Thanks for the report and congrats on a great back to back to Huski

Grosu's on fire!
Bad bad day for us, though. Stavrakakis in the break - why? That makes no sense when we have a team full of suitable riders, and only Stavrakakis and Farantakis not. Bad decision obviously!
Giannoutsos dropping far behind is also a bad sign. I think I developped him badly when picking him to be a GC rider, rather than an attacking type of rider. Too bad, but let's hope this time loss can free him up. Some pretty strong riders already on the move it seems.

Thank you for the report, UU.
Encouraging to see Amezawa attack and go for it! At least that makes me hopeful he will try to contest later stages, and that yesterday was a bad day/a normal day when he doesn't have priority as a GC rider, which is fair.
Congratulations again, alex! |

Quite cool to see Grosu / Demare dominating these stages that they should control.
Slightly annoyed that Lecuisinier dropped back within that group on the final decline as he was in a superb position over the last climb to get some points again but that shouldnt be significant in any way.
Impressive how Isostar does so well with breaks in a GT once again too!
