Van der Sande's season continues to be totally bizarre - wins the GC of the first race he enters, then barely a stage top 10 from that point on. Hopefully he can find some form here in what will be his last race in Farfetch colours. |

Thanks to all.
@ember. I still think it will be close till the end anyway, no matter this race here. In Lombardia, big points could go to you I guess. In especially as I don`t have Olivier there and not sure if De Bie will perform there despite huge support.
Tasmania could also go into your favour I guess. I basically have Groenewegen for the one flat stage there only.
Not sure if the Maroc PTHC points can close the gap and extend it enough to avoid a last race relegation in Lombardia. |

I'm impartial in this relegation fight as I hold both teams in high regard, but that's a strong first showing from Aegon!

Congrats, roturn! Must feel really great to have such an amazing start after all those disappointments - it's definitely yours to lose now!

Indeed a great start to this race. One of the greatest in team history as except for Swift I never really won a lot of stages. Doing 2 in one race already is huge.
Hopefully Olivier can go on like this. The team was a bit weak today as he looked to be isolated early but let's see. |

I'd say you're very much on your way to make it! Looking at our points scoring in Balkans, which was kind of a similar race, I'd say you'll definitely bring in the points, especially now that you've scored heavily already on both stages. Congratulations again! With the early yellow jersey and two stage wins, I'd say you're looking good to score more than our Balkans score, which should be impossible to catch in Lombardia, as I struggle to see Kwiatkowski as a heavy points scorer in Tasmania.
Also thank you for the reports so far, redordead! I'm obviously following this one closely, and both stages have been exciting to read |

Argh darn it. This was the stage for Boily to see if he could steal a stagewin.
Stage 3 and 6 are much too difficult, and stage 7 probably too.
Fingers crossed that Zoidl will look for the break tomorrow and fight for the KOM. I guess that is our chance to come away from this race with something, albeit a very small chance.

Nice to see Bennett keep his powder dry and on the same time if that’s what it’s going to be about for now

Both Moser and Chernetskiy very close to the podium on the first two stages, time to stop chasing in the peloton and instead get into attacking mode.

Oh my god, Nizzolo you worthless piece of ....
Boily best of the rest, shows he had a good day. Too bad he couldn’t get any sort of positive time gap from that...

Aegon crushing it. I predict 5 stage wins at least!

To be honest, I had preferred 3rd and the 2-3 min gap to the rest as now the GC is still open.
But winning yet again is of course brilliant and all expectations are already exceeded.
First I thought, he is on a rather weak day looking to struggle but still top3. His attack then was strong but unfortunately the end of the trio as afterwards they stopped riding. At least was enough to recover to use his decent kick from small groups to perfection.
Thanks for the report and from now on, I'd like to always get you for my main races reports. |

Well, we certainly can't complain that this relegation fight will be fought on positions 20-30 in Lombardia as we've seen in the past!

4th is a pretty solid result for Martin and he’s still in a strong position to go for a good GC result.

Absolutely dreadful from Carthy, giving me yet more reasons to think he won't be with the team next season. How he went from being 4th on the stage at one point to losing almost 3 minutes is beyond me, especially seeing the riders who finished ahead of him. Yet another top 5 goal failed thanks to his random off-days. |
