Solid ride by the guys. Aleays hoping for the win of course, but a good start for our GC hopes. Good stage by riders like Oliveira, Theuns and Van Baarle too.

Decent one, only hoping Per won't miss those 2 seconds somewhere

Oh dear this was really bad. Had hoped TT stat wouldn't be so important with all our timetrialists racing in Germany |

What a nice stage! Have to say I was a bit unsure as to whether we would be competitive enough here considering we lacked some cobble depth but a nice 2nd place and U25 jersey to boot is a positive start.
Van Baarle is in a good position already which may be vital for us later on.

Arashiro took good advantage of the peloton fucking it up a bit - congrats on the win, valverde!
Good to see that we had plenty of riders near the front. Hopefully a good sign for things to come.

Why would the peloton let a guy like Arashiro away - and can they start doing it for Jams too?
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Thank you for the report, jph!
That was a big chance for Videika and us, a pity he couldn't make more of it. Fingers crossed we continue to ride aggressive and join breakaways.
Also congratulations to Rakuten and valverde. Well done by Arashiro! |

Good stuff to be in the break. Not so good to see someone else taking the win from this break this race will probably be a disgrace from our team, as every year. So breakaways are the only way to at least have a shot at some minor points.

Considering what's on the line, I would very much enjoy one of Helme/Egger/Madouas/Niu/Sagiv to challenge for the KoM jersey from breaks, they're all perfectly suited to such a task and we REALLY need to give that path to easy points a try here and there (particularly looking at how Isostar always makes the best out of weak lineups).
Cross-quoting from Deutschland Tour for truth.
Cavagna looks attentive, and Bewley down in 5th is good in our fight against Moser.

Well thats a big win. Could the unlikliest of races be our saving grace? I highly doubt it, but Arashiro isn't a terrible cobble rider so if he loses time but then joins breaks again we could be on for a good race.
Thanks for the congrats everyone.

Pretty mediocre TTT result for us, but it definitely could've been worse. I'll take it.

Apologies for the delay with stages 3 and 4, have had some technical issues over the weekend (left my laptop charger at home while I was away). Will do two reports a day tomorrow and Tuesday to get back up to speed! |

Finally a good stage result yet again, after a horrible start in Germany, and a very uneventful start here.
Koretzky 2nd atleast gives us something to cheer about, although not quite bringing home what Coquard is losing in Germany.

Expectedly not the best day for Evonik. Blythe definitely out of the GC though by absolutely zero surprise. He's solely here for the chance at a stage result on day 4. Good sign that Neilands was in the breaks and collects a couple of KoM points but unlikely that he will get enough on further stages to compete for the jersey.
Next stage is the most crucial one for Blythe. A podium would be awesome and much needed.
Congrats to SN, SotD and matt (sick!) for great results

What a stupid stage by my team...De Bie attacking fine, but when he is not even strong enough to beat Oliveira in a hill sprint...the team should not work for him at all.
In especially when this means, the whole team for no reason is dropping and losing time including the main GC riders Van Hooydonck/Boom/Van der Poel.
Well I guess Isostar being similarly hit with even stronger leaders. |

Hilly stages are always a bit weird in the ToNe. For us it was a very good result with three riders near the front and Cosnefroy in white. Oliveira is looking strong, but hopefully we can get a gap on him on the cobbles. We have a team that's well suited to really put the hammer down when we enter the sectors, so hopefully they'll do that. A bit unsure how the good GC result for Hofstetter and Cosnefroy plays in, but I hope we will go more or less all in on Wisniowski with the rest of the team, bar Pedersen, at least. Fingers crossed for some good gaps
Thanks for the report jph and congrats on the win, SN!
