Seem Farfetch have no shortage of riders who can beat Houle - poor positioning from us though, should have been a gimme to get Debesay or Houle in the front group and some bonuses

4 guys in the first group, with Zmorka and Dunbar safe. Pretty much perfect. Not ideal that Kemboi gained so much time, but i'd be really surprised if he can stay in the front group in the hilly stage, though that would mean Zmorka dropped too, so maybe i should prefer a slow stage

Another okay stage I guess. Good to see Nepomnyachsniy fairly close to the front. Giogieri and Ablenado lost time so hopefully they join the break on stage 3. We need to be on the right end of another split to have a chance at a notable result.
Farfetch just can't stop scoring, congrats jph

Sigh... Why don't we ever join breakaways this year? It would have been a perfect stage for Lienhard and/or Thièry, but no...
At least, they made it over the hills with the main group, thanks to very passive riding. A shame that Scully was dropped early, though, as he should be able to easily keep up with Kemboi on the hills. Bad positioning I guess...
Well, the strategy of going for breakaways is always a risky one, but it seemed quite probable in such a small field. It didn't happen, so we won't get a lot of points out of this race. We'll have two in the Top 30 at least, so we don't leave empty handed. Still a bit disappointed, though.
Congrats to Farfetch, Kemboi is just a beast. And Turgis is on a roll, too.

Intxausti dropped on the hills, that's hilarious. Well, at least if prologue goes well Dees could climb a spot or two and Intxausti get back into Top 30 and score SOME points

Lovely stage for the team. Attila with his first show of strenght going in the breakaway to support Jacopo, who wins KoM to give us some extra unexpected points.
Eddie attacking and almost going alone was amazing to see. Such a shame that being the first attacker, he seemed to leadout the sprint and end up not winning time, which was a bummer considering it would have been a GC podium secured that way. I'm extremely surprised that Zmorka survived this (and Kemboi), but i guess the stage isn't that hard and positioning is more important than stats in this kind of hilly stages
Chances for a GC podium are high i assume, would need to check PRL stat for Dowsett, Bettiol, Turgis and Di Maggio, but it's reasonable to think that Zmorka can overtake at least 3 of those to finish 2nd or 3rd in GC. Dunbar shouldn't climb so much in GC, i assume a Top5 is likely, but similar TTers are just a couple of seconds behind him in GC, so nothing safe there.
Farfetch basically securing the PCT title only with this race

Wow, what a set of results for us so far here! I've been quite quiet over the past month with a busy period of exams and work, but had seen that we were doing OK - nothing special, but not terrible. So this was nice to come back to, especially after Southland went reasonably well also.
I'll admit I sent Kemboi here hoping for a couple of stage wins and the points jersey, so this has far surpassed expectations - and cushioned the likely 0 pointer in Barbados due to his absence there. Bettiol and Turgis have been exceptional as well, and it's a shame we had to sacrifice Paillot there seeing Zmorka in the front group, as he could have joined the fight for a top 5 as well.
I think Zmorka should be able to move up to 2nd on the final stage, but 1-4-5 seems to be on the cards. Don't want to be greedy, but could Paillot or Kemboi cap this off with a stage win? |

Very nice to see Dowsett taking a win again! Impressive Farfetched dominance though.

Another okay stage. Nepomnyachsniy is 11th on GC, but things are very close so he needs a good day in the epilogue to either maintain his position or perhaps move up a spot or two.

I stand by this statement with the strong feeling AC might even miss the Top15 on the final stage.

Mixed feelings on this - nice to see a former McCormick rider do well but where was that when he was CT last year? He managed to be totally anonymous the whole season.
Awesome stuff from Kemboi and Farfetch.

We get points from a TT stage - I'll take that for sure!
Thièry only losing two spots and Lienhard even gaining one is a good result. Scully taking 4th in the points standings is a nice bonus - but it's really a shame that he didn't make it over the hills, else it would probably have been a GC podium!
Overall, we finish slightly below the target 10 PpRD, which is mainly due to not attacking, hence not getting any points from KoM standings. I hope that will improve soon, but all in all, I can definitely live with what we accomplished here.
Congrats to Farfetch for demolishing the competition in this race, and thanks to Marco for the great reports!

Ffs Kemboi, stop it. Zmorka and the rest of the team is going to have nightmares with him after this week... 2nd to him in Stage, GC, Points and U25
Kittel against disapointing in the stage, while Salas delivering a decent stage result. It's not a lot of points, but at least shows some promise ahead of Uppsala later in the month.
Overall a race where i didn't expect to get so much points, specially with Zmorka. We didn't have the level of dominance as Farfetch ofc, but 2nd + 6th, KoM, 2nd Points, and 2nd U25 is a massive result.
It's specially promising for Zmorka's season points, as i didn't have much hopes than a stage win and fighting for the Points jersey pre-race, and he got significantly more points. I still think he can get +1000 points in a normal season, so this is a big push for that amount.
Dunbar keeps delivering with a second GC Top10 this season before being even maxed. Can't wait to see what he does when maxed

Very good epilogue from Nepomnyachsniy, 7th on GC pretty much matches what our hopes were for this race
Can we just imagine Farfetch doesn't exist at this point
Thank you for the reports Marco, I especially enjoyed the last stage with the GC update after each rider

Small points haul for us with Konig and Pana finishing in Top 20, plus Thurau's 3rd (de jure joint 2nd, but not mad anyway) in the KoM. Next races would be Pais Vasco, which would be meh and Circulo de Juarez

It's races like this, that put teams in a top position, which they hardly will give away for the rest of the season. Congrats, Farfetch!
I like the design of the race, btw.. tsmoha did a good job on this, imo
Thanks for the reports!

A race that started for us in a spectacular way, but then ended in a very average way.
Kemboi did very well and deserves the victory without a doubt.
Thanks for the reports and congrats to Farfetch

Well that was a good epilogue, we increased our point tally, but still a disappointment, Intxausti just sucks
