Thanks everyone!!! We are very happy to get Wippert at that wage! I am hoping he can perform at this CT level and show everyone what he’s got!
We have also made some other significant trades, swaps and loans which we will be updating you all on over the next few days. We have assembled a much more rounded and stronger team in order to achieve our goals this season! Fingers are crossed in every way possible!!

Transfer News - Lots of Movement at BNZ Cycling
Well after a hard renewals and not having much cap space to work with, we have surprised ourselves with the amount of moves we have made so far. Some random but all with a purpose. Our depth has been significantly improved, and we have also picked up new leaders but also said goodbye to some important riders from our past. Lets take a look.
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 65 | 79 | 70 | 68 | 71 | 76 | 75 | 50 | 52 | 70 | 72 | 63 | 68 |
A great climber who at the age of 29 still has some good years in him. With a high mountain stat he will replace Robert Kiserlovski as our Mountain leader for the 2020 season! With a small 87.5k wage and a transfer fee of only 600k, we are very excited to have him on board!
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 68 | 75 | 73 | 65 | 72 | 74 | 71 | 65 | 61 | 67 | 74 | 73 | 66 |
Alexis Vuillermoz joins us from Festina-OAKA. He will be fantastic mountain support for Garby and we hope himself and Schultz can perform and help the team be the best we can be. Only a 50k wage but he came at a price. He was apart of a rider swap for Piter Campero. We got Vuillermoz as well as 150k which we think is fair but Campero will be missed!
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 73 | 57 | 67 | 59 | 74 | 69 | 71 | 75 | 77 | 77 | 60 | 66 | 62 |
We began trying to piece together a strong sprint train for Wippert as soon as we found out we signed him. We got approached by Festina-OAKA about Weber and jumper at the opportunity. We have never really had a cobbles squad and with Weber coming as a powerful sprinter/cobbler, we have found our first piece of a cobbles squad along with our Mongolian rider Munk. Weber has a larger wage of 110k and came to us in a rather interesting deal... We payed 500k to Festina-OAKA along with Taylor Gunman and Miles Scotson (because having a small wage cap is a b****!!)
It is sad to see these two riders leave, however it is for the good of the squad as we continue our fight for promotion this season!
Well as I have said, we must say a huge thank you and goodbye to Piter Camper, Taylor Gunman and Miles Scotson for their amazing work and grit over the last few seasons. They have been huge additions for us and it is sad to see them go. We will continue to follow them over the coming season and be cheering them on!
We must also so goodbye for a year to Samuele Menicucci as he goes to McCormick Pro Cycling to continue his development. As well as Jimmy Muhindo who is leaving for Project Africa in order to develop as much as possible!
Well with these deals all been made and finalised we are looking good for the coming season! We will continue to be in talks with teams and listening to more offers and keep you all updated! We also have the CT draft coming up which we always get excited for!!
We thank you all for your support and as always
Stay tuned for more!

Very tough to see Garby go this year. He has been with us since the very beginning, but it was time to part ways. Best of luck with him this season. I hope he finishes in the next position after our climbers every race.

How about exact same time but only separation is time bonuses? And let’s alternate. Yours can win one race and garby can take one. And just alternate everytime ahaha. Make it fair?
Nah I’m really excited to see Garby in action this year!!

Final Signings - Draft and Stagiare
Well as the transfer season closes, we have made our final FA/Stagiare signing and been through the draft and picked up two riders we think will help us in the coming season and seasons to come. Firstly, the stagiare signing
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 65 | 60 | 64 | 68 | 65 | 65 | 65 | 63 | 68 | 69 | 69 | 64 | 69 |
Potential Future Stats (Track-Sprint Training)
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 72 | 60 | 65 | 69 | 66 | 70 | 69 | 63 | 75 | 76 | 69 | 65 | 76 |
Next we have the Continental Tour Draft. This has been going for a few seasons now and it is wear teams can get the final piece of the puzzle for their teams, or to add a rider for free. Either way, many different approaches this season. Here is the approach we took.
With our first pick of the CT draft, we picked...
This young Australian is a sprinter of the future! We may be in a constant struggle to promote from the CT, however we never pass on an opportunity to pick up a young talent. 22 years old with 5 potential means he will grow into a fantastic young sprinter!
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 65 | 61 | 64 | 56 | 65 | 68 | 61 | 55 | 68 | 71 | 60 | 62 | 57 |
Future Stats (Sprinter Training)
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 72 | 62 | 65 | 56 | 72 | 71 | 66 | 60 | 77 | 78 | 60 | 63 | 57 |
Now, with our second pick, we went for a more experienced sprinter, not the best available unfortunately, but still a fantastic rider! With our second pick in the CT draft, we selected...
Pavel will be a great asset to our sprint train on flat stages. This strong 29 year old still has room to grow. He will do what he can and if by some miracle we can Max his abilities before he starts to decline, he will be a strong sprinter in the flat races. Hopefully he can be there to help Wippert or whoever he has been tasked to help in the race.
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 70 | 50 | 59 | 51 | 64 | 67 | 69 | 57 | 76 | 79 | 62 | 73 | 71 |
Future Stats (Track-Sprint Training)
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 72 | 50 | 59 | 51 | 65 | 69 | 70 | 57 | 78 | 81 | 62 | 73 | 73 |
Well there you have it. Not a bad transfer season for us. Lessons learnt and some previously learnt lessons put to use. Our full squad will be revealed shortly. Thanks for following us through this stressful time!
Stay tuned for more!

Well here it is. We believe we have put together a competitive team. As much depth as possible. Still some areas we can improve on, and unsure on whether promotion is possible but we will do our best for a top 10 in the CT standings either way. So without further ado, here is the 2020 BNZ Cycling Team roster!
The team will be led Joshua Edmondson, Marc Christian Garby, Nicholas Schultz and Wouter Wippert. These riders will be our leaders in most races this season and we hope them great success as well as the rest of the team. We have a packed calendar this season which we will reveal soon. We are very excited to bring you all the news in the coming months! We thank you for your continued support and can't wait to continue to bring you all the news of BNZ Cycling Team
As always
Stay tuned for more!

That's a lot of 4.xx riders for a CT team. Love Scott as a Draft choice as regional talent. Hard to not love the NZL-MGL core focus you stick with, even it means a potentially tricky season. Edmondson a great leader though!

Thanks guys!
Yeh TMM I love sticking to the roots of the team! NZL and MGL started the team along with AUS and I hope to continue it that way. Hopefully we can soon start having some success with it though ahaha
Gonna be hard next season when I need to max people.

I like your quattro of leaders, although I'm not a big fan of Garby's low flat and hill combo, but maybe he does really good in CT
Sorry I took Duyvesteyn from you late, knowing how much you like NZL riders
Good luck for the season

Yeh I’m hope if that won’t affect him too much to is season. We will soon find out though.
Yeh little bit rude ahaha. But it’s alright. Maybe trade in the future can be possible
Thanks! You too

A new season opener for the C2HC category with the hilly race the GP Yekaterinburg. We have decided to open the season with a bang and are going for the WIN here as we have set this as our win goal. We believe completely in Joshua Edmondson and he will be a big centrepiece during the month of January.
The Tour Down Under is our first stage race of the year and Edmondson will be there as team leader hoping for a high GC finish like last years top 10. He will then go to the Gisborne GP and see what he can do at that race. He has done very well in previous years and we hope to see him continue that trend.
Finally, back to Australia for the flat Great Ocean Road Classic. Wouter Wippert will be here as our sole leader and we are excited to see how he goes. We are also sending Sono Delgerbayar here as he is a very strong rider and has achieved great results here before.

The first month of this new 2020 season has started off well for us here at BNZ Cycling Team. While not having achieved 1 of the goals we set in Russia to win the GP Yekaterinburg, we still managed to grab a nice result and start of our season well.
GP Yekaterinburg
While Wilco Kelderman cemented his first show of dominance over the rest of the Continental division, the rest of the riders were fighting for second. The BNZ bout worked hard all day fighting to keep a breakaway rider from taking the win and tried to keep Joshua Edmondson out of danger. It all went to plan and in the end it was down to Joshua to sprint for the win. He didn't quite have it in him and had to unfortunately settle for 7th place in Russia. He did however grab his and the teams first points for the season in a showing we think was fantastic, despite failing to achieve our win goal for the season. Great showing for the boys to open our season.
Tour Down Under
The Tour Down Under was always going to be a challenge for the riders as we faced predominantly PCT teams. Last season Joshua Edmondson was able to secure a top 10 at this race and that was what we set out to do again. We had some great results throughout the 6 days. The first day showed us that Wippert was able to hold his own as he grabbed a nice top 10. Cameron Scott was also in the breakaway that day and raced very well! Edmondson was incredible on day 3 as we hit the hills, grabbing a 3rd place and only narrowly missing out on the win. This followed in day 5 going up Willunga hill where he grabbed an 8th place and almost secured his top 10 overall. Wippert wanted his photo on the podium though and managed to grab 3rd place in the final day with a fantastic showing to end the TDU. We left with 8th overall and some great hope for the rest of the year. Along with some great points in the CT rankings.
Gisborne GP
Well our home race was not a disappointment but we did hope for a bit more then what we achieved. It was going to be another hard race against some PCT teams and Edmondson had his work cut out for him. In the end he managed to grab a great top 10. He had the help of Vuillermoz and Schultz, both riders finishing inside the top 31 riders as well. A good performance for the boys and still a great result for Edmondson and the team in our home race.
Great Ocean Road Classic
Not a lot to say about this race. It was the first race of January where we were unable to grab a top 10, but we were only millimetres off that with Wippert finishing in 11th position. A good end to the month and a great start for the team who scored points in every race we attended this month.
Pos | Team | Total | RD | DUC | Yek | TdU | Tac | Gis | GOR | 1 | Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team | 181 | 6 | 0 | 68 | 0 | 0 | 32 | 81 | 2 | Philips | 178 | 14 | 0 | 105 | 0 | 72 | 0 | 1 | 3 | Project: Africa | 171 | 14 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 159 | 0 | 10 | 4 | Centovalli - Fiat | 167 | 8 | 75 | 50 | 0 | 0 | 35 | 7 | 5 | Los Pollos Hermanos | 145 | 14 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 125 | 0 | 20 | 6 | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 139 | 14 | 0 | 59 | 0 | 74 | 0 | 6 | 7 | Carrefour - ESPN | 130 | 14 | 0 | 40 | 0 | 61 | 0 | 29 | 8 | Tryg - Ritter Sport | 127 | 14 | 0 | 29 | 0 | 75 | 0 | 23 | 9 | BNZ Cycling Team | 101 | 12 | 0 | 25 | 48 | 0 | 17 | 11 | 10 | Bralirwa - Stevens Bikes | 93 | 14 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 41 | 0 | 50 |
A great start with us being inside the top 10 off only 12 race days which is easily not the most in the CT. A good start considering we did not attend Tachira this season and having really only used 2 of our leaders so far being Wippert and Edmondson. Garby has yet to attend a race and Schultz with only a couple of RDs means we are in a great position to continue our form into the busy month of February. Edmondson is also 2nd in the individual standings currently behind Thibaut Pinot as he won the stage race in Tachira.
A fantastic start to the season as we move into February. A preview for the month of February will follow shortly but for now we thank you for following our teams progress.
Stay tuned for more!

February opens for us in Belgium with the Gent Wevelgem. We aren't exactly known for our cobbles squad however we have Sascha Weber this season and we are excited to see how he performs against the CT cobbles teams. He has a great sprint on him as well which should help in our favour. We then move to Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Challenge. This is the debut of our star climber, Marc Christian Garby. He is supported by Nicholas Schultz and we are expecting some good results over this 3 day stage race.
We move then to Sri Lanka for the Colombo Classic, this race will bring our hill squad back out to play with Joshua Edmondson ready to continue his great form! We then head back to New Zealand for the Tour of Southland. Nicholas Schultz and Wouter Wippert will lead this squad in New Zealand and hopefully bring us some nice results.
Finally, Joshua Edmondson and his hill squad will return once again in Italy for the Trofeo Laigueglia. We aim to finish in the TOP 5 as this is one of our 5 goals for the season.

Nice start to the season. Edmondson has proved to be a very consistent rider over the last few years
