Sounds like a non issue to me but lets see, we have been burnt to many times

It's illegal to send certain data during a race between rider + car, and Bramati's comments certainly give an impression there was some data being transmitted. If this is power data, heart rate data, that is not allowed to be shared in real time during the race. So the polite guess is he was removing some sort of HR monitor/data relay device.
The data part is the easiest question to be answered:
It's the Velon device installed on the main riders' bikes by the race organiser that's used to track and share data in live reports and broadcasts. |

You've kind of hit the point, the Velon unit is installed on the bike and not on the rider. So what would Bramati be removing?

There's too much mystery around this to be "clean" imo. in particular behind Bramati and QS statements. Why not posting a picture of the things he got from Remco pockets? that makes it easy

Sunweb has let Matthews find a new team for 2021, which is not surprising followng his dismissal from the Tour squad. |

Why was he dismissed?

Afaik no explanation was given. He was going to ride Classics + Tour initially (pre-lockdown) then he was informed that he would ride the Giro instead (thus missing the Classics). He was going to talk to the management to understand why the shift in calendar but if they gave him any details, these weren’t publicly announced. |

One probably wonders which came first - did Matthews look elsewhere and thus they took him off the team, or vice versa? With it all just leaks from behind the scenes we don't really know I guess.

yeah, it's quite strange his new plan, looks like an own goal. doing tour + classics gains more and more sense with the new calendar for a rider like him.

He's been now announced as having signed for Mitchelton. |
