Critérium du Dauphiné 2020

Jumbo Visma really in some form right now.

Roglic and Van Aert make everything look very easy but when having kind of leaderstrength support by Bennett, Kruijswijk and Kuss, it obviously is enormous. And Dumoulin not even at his best by the look of it.

The only one being as dominant as them right now is probably Evenepoel.

Ineos will have a hard time in the Tour if they don`t shape up until then. Bernal the only one being able to ride with them.

But it`s still time and as others have said, Jumbo might be too much in form already too early.

Pinot will be there also by the Tour de France begin. Hopefully not only till 19th stage.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Evenepoel is not human, Roglic is the best of the humans.

Maybe it's my inner Jesleyh talking, but add Gesink to that list, turned into an excellent domestique.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

How do you guys assess Froome’s form? Will he make it to the TDF ? I think he is doing really well given what happened last year. However, he definitely wont be able to fight for the GC. Maybe next year.

Wasn't Jesleyh a Kelderman fanboy? As to why is anyone's guess really

Gesink has always been kind of a diesel despite some good attacks here and there. So it's not really surprising he can just go to the front of the pack and drop most of it. We already seen something similar in the 2018 Tour where he reduced the gap the a very strong breakaway by one minute and a half all by himself in the stage Roglic won iirc.

As for Froome, I think Froome going to the Tour will only complicate things for Ineos. He clearly isn't as good as Bernal so there's no way he will be given leadership of the team. And I'm not sure he's quite comfortable being a domestique.

Remember 2012 when he started to drop Wiggins while he was pacing him and made a hand gesture towards Wiggins as come one you can't keep up with this?

His spot would be better given to someone who is actually all in into helping Bernal instead of potentially upsetting the atmosphere in the team or do something like today where he dropped before he took any turns.

But, hey I want Jumbo to win the Tour so Froome, let's have at it!

IIRC he started off as a Gesink fanboy, but when Gesink started crashing too much, he switched to Kelderman.

He was always a Kelderman fanboy first, but also a Gesink fanboy too.

Great way to survive by Formolo. Wish the peloton was more selective though. Seemed like guys still had a lot of energy at the end, but Jumbo just neutralized the race.

Formolo’s decision to focus on classics and stage hunting was a really great shift.

df_Trek
impressive win by Formolo...what a great attacker, his long range shots are awesome!!

Surely Froome has got to go on the attack and get into the break in the next couple of days. He needs to do something if he wants to go to the tour and sending a rider up the road could be the only way to beat Jumbo at the moment. Ineos, and any other team, need to think outside the box if they want to beat Jumbo.

At the moment it seems like they're really struggling with the idea someone is beating them at their own game.

Egan Bernal does not start today, he's having back problems.

df_Trek
that's quite a problem for Ineos...let see if he can recover for TdF

Yeah. If Froome and Thomas were fit then it would be a great battle. Froome is well below par for obvious reasons while I do t know what's happened to Thomas. He seems to have gone back to a level of not even being a super domestique.

If they don't improve drastically I'd say neither of them should go to the tour. The likes of Sivakov and TGH seem to be the better options as out and out mountain domestiques for Bernal, if he is fully fit himself.
