Already so much damage done on this first day. Never liked the PCMish "peloton gives up on the race" approach though. Could become an interesting race with so many riders already DNF.. Nice to see Vanspeybrouck in the mix for the GC now, a bit unlucky finish for him though.

Yeah, that's 5* cobbles... no strategy, just positioning and daily form luck.

Stage 2 slightly better, now let's see how the AI takes stage 3 without sprint trains.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Congrats to Sykkel_Freak and thanks for the report.
We needed an easy ride at stage 2, and we got it couldn't be better.

Great ride from Van der Haar and a nice way to bounce back after a disastrous first stage
Looking forward to see what Kreder can do on the next stage with some of his competitors out of the race, though I guess it might not come down to a sprint with most team down to 4-5 riders.

Scary moment for Albert but a top 5 GC seems settled, no way he'll lose 2 minutes on the TT.
Shame Marcos punctured out of the break, might have challenged vd Haar.

Well that was disapointing, but trying to look in the bright side Eeckhout climbing to the Top10.
Congratz Sykkel!

Another great day for the team. VSB 7th and in good shape. Kvist gets a nice sprint podium. Ramon and Niki get back and keep their GC spots. All around good for us.
Still in with a chance to win in the TT, and that's all I could hope for. Podium seems very possible and top 5 is basically secured. All is well.

Well what can I say. Waste of racedays here. Congratz to everyone who have managed to get anything from this race so far.

Well shit, Orue was supposed to get me some points with an easy youth classification win... not drop out of the race with his 78 cobbles stat...

Holy moly Lawrence Naesen you beauty awesome result, huge for Signal Iduna. Fun history fact: his brother Oliver won this very stage back in 2016! Just waiting on lordbenji now...
Nice of Debesay to get in the mix yesterday and get a few stage points. 7th won’t be awful but still disappointed on the Xero side of things, especially with Rowe gone.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

ARGHHHH almost there Sakala Almost there today, would've been a sweet win, Summerhill didn't loose time but lost the lead it isn't the most motivating sign.

Yeah, no chasing and no sprint train after the stage 1 problems. not unexpected.
I would just express my disappointment in rating every cobbled section as 5 again. This used to be a great race where the sprinters, cobblers and time trialists fight for the win, limiting their losses on the bad terrain and making it up in the stage to their liking.
Stage 1 should always go to a cobbler, but there shouldn't be 20 minute gaps and time limit victims. Stage 2 is for the attackers and the cobblers to gain some extra time, or for the sprinters if their team can control the race. Stage 3 should always be a mass sprint, no exception. And stage 4 gives the time tiralist a chance to get back in the race if they held on long enough in the previous stages.
I would like a pure cobble stage race as much as anyone, but this just isn't the race for it. This race was unique IRL, so I hope it would live on like this in the MG.
So in short:

You a right - but this all come down to lack of time, very few people working with the transition to PCM18 made it impossible to do any kind of serious testing off-season, not to mention putting in ton's of hours creating or changing every race profile.
We worked day and night just to create/upgrade enough races to make a season, (no shit 100's of hours) it would have been impossible also to test different race types and we simply missed the fact that max level COB's are very different in PCM18, just as we had no time to straightened out the sprint, in all those stages with a flat finish. Not to mention all the issues we have seen with hilly stages.
I'm sorry about the way the transition is, just as everyone else, or maybe even more than others as I have done so must preparation work for something that is not working out as it should.
