I have to say, Soupe is doing much better than expected here. Quite a nice surprise. I hope his good form is a good sign for Marquez when the mountains come around. I hope for some surprising results there, if we can manage to get a top 10 and a stage win in this race I will be really happy

Slow first week for us without a sprinter here. Hope we find our moment when the breaks start to stick.
Serious problem for Phinney there, but fortunately it didn't blow his GC aspirations. Should makes us rethink the no-crash policy imo.

Exams done for the year, so it's time to catch up with the MG again!
We obviously come here with full focus on and support for Herklotz, but without the need to put much pressure on him just yet. Nerz and Arndt are our best mountain support, Mager and Bol great on the hills, Wackermann reliable on the flat and Chevrier/Dunne don't mind vertical gain at all either.
The lowest hill stat is even Nerz on 72, the lowest mountain stat 2x68.
There is a Top 3 goal on this race for us, but the achieved goals in California and the Netherlands give us a buffer.
On paper, the six best riders should be able to separate themselves from the rest over the course of the race.
To go for a podium spot means to get the better of Alarcon in the TT, and the better of Tenorio and Kritskiy when ACC matters. Despite SotD's best efforts, I don't believe Herklotz has what it takes to challenge Madrazo and Phinney over three weeks just yet.
I will admit that Liechtenstein was an impressive first outing among the world's very best, so I do hope for at least flashes of that somewhere in the mountains to maybe get a lucky stage win.
Thankfully, the competition for white lacks a big name to at least make up for the fact that it'll take until halfway into the race to get hold of that jersey.
On the first two stages, I'd like to congratulate tsmoha and SotD on their stage wins and respective leader jerseys, two teams amd managers who certainly deserve the success. I too am glad Phinney didn't lose any time.
Herklotz looks alert in the second row of the sprints, and maybe Bol can make a break to go for some KoM points in the next stages, he seems to be warming up already.

Ouch, so close. Would have been a great upset for Soupe here. Most likely his best chance for win this season.
Out of curiousity (I know the spelling sucks), are you sure you are playing with Soupe's real stats?

That was very dissapointing to say the least. Too much randomness in the sprints to bring an 84SPR rider here. So far a horrible time for Aegon. Decent for us, but 3rd in stage 1 and especially 5th here isn't good enough.

It is amazing how Stallaert and Bertilsson gets better results then Ahlstrand i GTs
That, I posted before Stallaert took a stage win.
GT stage wins by both him and Bertilsson this year is surprising and exactly what we need to avoid relegation! |

Sorry guys, decided to take a short break off daily when the pace of the mg slowed down a bit.
My team is once again selected to make the maximum out of breaks. I have three of my versatile attacking climbers plus three guys who are perfectly suited for the KoM jersey till we reach the mountains with Bekmanis, De Vreese and Becis as all of them have good FL+HI+ACC combos. Lienhard is a similar type of rider but hasnt quite the quality to win the kom sprints without lots of luck. Horton completes the team but he shouldnt join breaks.
Claiming the KoM jersey so early is the jackpot i hoped for as De Vreese might now be able to defend the jersey until after the time trial
Stage 4 is without a kom sprint so i can add at least two days in the jersey to my score.
Nice little stat:
Days in GT KoM jerseys this season: (didnt count but should be correct)
Evonik: 19 (incl. post S4)
everyone else: 3
I love it

Should have gotten a 3rd tier sprinter, just so we could have something to look for in stages like this.
Congrats to Viking! Nice win by Stallaert, continuing to billetter on an already pretty good season for him.

Too bad Coquard messed up the timing there, as he should've won this one clearly. That said, 2nd behind Swift is somewhat expected to happen here and there so we can't complain about that. Still leading both GC and points to keep a solid points haul - But I would like a 2nd stagewin soon. 1 out of 4 is not good enough looking at the setup we brought.

Good to see Swift finally deliver here. Congratulations, roturn! Holst Enger has been slightly below expectations on stage 3 and 4, hopefully he can hit back.
Also, I doubt I will be able to follow more of the race "live", stage by stage. Sitting in an airport now, and I'm going away and also most likely offline until the 30th of December. Fingers crossed Galta and Holst Enger can surprise me then |

The sprinting showdown continues with Coquard still holding the upper hand atm. Congrats on another victory SotD. Swift with his victory is rather pleasing but seems a bit insufficient for roturn so far. We continue pretty much invisible as expected with only Mas making a cameo.
Thanks for all the reports
