A bold plan to use 21 racedays for Wisniowski here, but stage win and maybe a few days in the leaders jersey. Definitely worth it!

Strong and expected win for Wisniowski there. Had hoped Vlatos could do top 5, but not quite.
Decent start by Lecuisinier, but then again - still a long way to the U25 points, so we better see him performing well on stage 3 and 4 to take it early. It was basically the reason to bring him here rather than the Vuelta. To pick up the U25 lead and hold it from stage 3-4 to the end, whereas in the Vuelta he would struggle to take it early, also suspected that Herklotz might be there or at the TdF.

Sending Wisniowski here was definitely a bold move, so very, very happy to see him taking the win. The alternative would probably been minor, minor placings in races like Praha-Karlovy Vary-Praha and Tasmania, so it feels like the right choice seeing him taking the win and the lead here. Hopefully he'll keep the race lead after the next stage. After that it's all about them breaks for us.

I hoped the racedays would fear you away, But no. Happy with the performance of Polanc, he's not quite Wisniowski but he did a good job to get the 2nd. A shame that Wisni exists in MG, not the first time looking against him

I really want to do well here, but Machado isn't a top climber anymore and there are strong TTists in besides the top contenders, so a top10 will probably be the best we can hope for here. Also I forgot to send climbing domestiques, or I just didn't have sufficient men.
Anyway good luck everyone. I'm thrilled to see the first GT on the road.
PS: prologue is up already. Congrats tastasol, nice victory there. Cool scenery as well.

From such a good position, that was awful. Not Aegon-awful, but it should've been at least a second place. 
Let's protect Bongiorno well tomorrow and see what happens with Demare.

Well fuck me... Surely didn't expect a stagewin from Tzortzakis already, but he always liked the Giro 
Very nice to see him take a Grand Tour stagewin in his final season at "top" level. Can't wait to see if he can get a little bit extra here or there in the other flat stages.

Silvestre with the wrong choice when deciding not to follow anyone's wheel and go at his own risk. Still the 8th position turns out not to be bad if you take into account the poor choice made by him

Decent start by Ciolek, and a very promising start by Dakteris and Scully! Had only Ciolek followed... But it definitely makes me hopeful for what's to come. If only Ciolek can hang on, we should have some very good opportunities later this first week.
Cogratulations on a surprise win, SotD! And also to viking90 for Bertilsson perfectly timed sprint. Groenewegen on the other with a worrying no-show. Fingers crossed he finds his sprinter legs quickly, as it would be a shame to see a GT proven sprinter miss out and not even contest sprints in this field.

Hey! Whats on?! Stallaert *2 at Roubaix and RvV and now Bertilsson starts with a 2nd at first sprint stage at Giro. Are we really trying to start misson avoid relegation?
IIRC Bertilsson has already pair up with Ahlstrands results from Giro last year

Thrilling stage to follow. Some of these hilly stages are really shaking up things.
Lecuisinier with a strong early performance to keep me happy, taking the U25 lead. With the upcoming TT he should increase to a point where he really shouldn't drop the lead at any point given that crashes are no longer an option.
For a while it looked even more promising, but in the end both Chamorro and Vasyliv exploded to lose quite some time, which is sad in terms of the U25 (Vasyliv) and the Team GC too... Still, can't be too unhappy with that when the 1st priority succeded.
Much harder stage than anticipated. It will be interesting to see if the result on stage 4 can tell who saved themselves the best.
