Goddamn AI, i swear it's just got worse overall for this year despite not changing games... anyway, minor complaint over lets get to the actual race.
Can't be mad at the CT teams doing well here, at least they're stealing points from our rivals.
Three guys, G, Marcus and Matthews (remember when i said to watch him) in the front group behind the attackers. Minimal losses to Altur is good, no idea how Lebris will go from here. But it gives us three good options going forwards. I know how i would play this race a human, doubt the AI will be that smart... Overall, an ok start that opens up good options for the rest of the race.

How the f*** is that not a gap? :/
Van Asbroeck already out of contention, Vanbilsen not getting rewarded, CT guy ready to take the GC (grats Goldcorp, sorry for the rant). We need a stage win on stage 2 or 3 now.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

We take our second win of the season here, but its actually a bit of a weird feeling. Before this report I was actually not expecting too much seeing as the PCT cobblers brought here should be a bit better than GVK on in the average race scenario. The fact that the AI lets Lebris and the two other good cobblers breakaway is weird. Its also quite weird that Farrar decides to shred the pack since that would normally suggest that Lebris would the weakest link in the break but he holds on and gets the win and yellow, which I dont think he will hold on to since he is pretty bad against the clock. Also a bit surprising to see so many decent cobblers dropped. I did not think the first stage was that tough.

Hm, it's just 11 kilometers. Only Skuijns would lose such a lead in an epilogue hehe. I think, if Lebris survives tomorrow, Goldcorp will be cashing in

Ugh, to not be able to control a break of three is really poor. Not a good day for us, with Rowe being dropped and then Wisniowski hitting the deck. At least he got back on, so hopefully not injured, and time gaps besides the winner is quite small, so a podium should still be within reach. Hopefully somethinh better in the days to come though. Will be interesting to see how Goldcorp can handle having the GC lead.

Atta boy Altur. Great day from him. Although, wish he would have got a bigger gap to the favorites. Now, let's take yellow on Stage 2.

Too tough for Kamyshev, it seems. All hopes are now on Viennet and a TT win... |

Now that's a good stage for Eritel! Okbamariam making the breakway a great slice of fortune, and while it is a shame to lose out to Lebris - no better than him on paper - to be 3rd overall at this stage is a great result.
Not sure whether or not the lack of gaps between groups at the end is a good thing. It will cost Okbamariam for sure, but on paper Debesay should be the 2nd best of those Top 12 in the final time trial, behind Wisniowski.
Didn't really expect Van Heerden to hang on, so not surprised to see him drop - while Ariko is proving a shrewd late signing once again, in his support and minor placing work. Quite a pity that Afewerki abandoned though, as Van Heerden needed him here - and all the more a shame that he didn't go to Vancouver instead, after his sprinting in Eritrea.
Neutrally, AI-wise, I am glad that there were some good gaps between groups - but the behaviour of certain riders is clearly a surprise.

Really nice report for Stage 2 as well as the for the first stage! Congrats to Newton for the win. Obviously beyond pleased to keep the yellow jersey on Lebris but I am not sure what the f*ck is going on with GVK this race. Lets see if 65 prl and 65 TT will get Lebris to the finish line in two days!

Not a big fan of our passive racing here. A break win again, this time more expected. Wisniowski seemed to survive the stage eithouy problems, so hopefully that means no injury and all good for the TT.
Given the current situation, I would say it looks like a fight for 2nd and 3rd between Altur, Harrison and Wisniowski. Lebris surely have this sealed up now, unless he crashes.
Feel for Vanbilsen here. Should have been more rewarded after his efforts on these first two stages.
Thanks for the report!

Well happy at least that Jams and MTK tried. Obviously given the breakaway success I'd rather the former made it but an appearance in the move is good Shame AI still sucks and agree with Ollfardh that Vanbilsen should have had a gap but PCM flat days provide no gaps unless it's minutes or two riders really I guess
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Stage 2 nicely survived. Assuming no crashes on Stage 3, Debesay should be set for Top 5 on GC, with a reasonable target of 3rd.
Okbariam will probably slip to 10th, but that's still a good result for him.

Do i be happy we're banking a number of solid placing points, or do i get annoyed the AI for leaving us to nothing but solid placings without action?

Another two days of failing on the cobbles. Perhaps to b followed up by Manninen failing to attempt sprinting?
