New team name for 2018
After many seasons with no changes, the team will have a new name for 2018 - albeit with very familiar sponsors.
The name will be EA Vesuvio, in recognition of our three main sponsors.
 Accumalux
 Vesuvio
And moving across to sponsor us from PCT:  Eritel.
We will continue to be registered in Luxembourg, but will now have our secondary nationality as Eritrean.
It is hoped that we will continue with a very similar jersey - certainly maintaining the red volcanic theme.

Hmmm, you've taken cue from my VMP - Argon 18 team name. I like it.

Far too big change after years.
Wonder who is the rider that is slowly supposed to replace a declining Andy Schleck then. 
With Eritel having moved from a top PCT team to a rather average mid table one, I hope this doesn`t mean, Vesuvio is heading the same direction. |

^ ^ What they said!. Shouldn't the new name be MK Vesuvio?  .
Would make sense, although with a number of promoting teams with large cap space and some existing PT teams revamping, might not be the only team with similar thoughts/ambitions given a certain riders age and hence MG longevity potential.
Good luck with the rebuild SN, another sub-plot to watch with great interest through transfers.

Surely you'll be one of the main protagonists in the transfer market, all eyes on you Awesome that Vesuvio will have some focus on Africa, it makes up a bit for the disbands and a bigger fight over Kudus, Berhane and Debesay mainly

Kudus at all costs is so 2017. Certainly an interesting rider, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up at a promoting team (to either division). Lots of buying and selling to be done though...

Wouldn't make much sense to disband the fully African squad, only to recreate it. Certainly won't be fearful of a PCT direction though, and the bounce back challenge.

 Sep Vanmarcke is truly a rider for all three divisions. With a wage of € 185,000 and a key stat of 80 cobbles.
Capable of regular top 10s at PT level, while a move down to either lower division could give him a well earned chance to fight for victories, without taking a big chunk out of anyone's salary cap.
Up for Offers
Our two big signings of last season both delivered excellent seasons, and we'd be happy to keep them both. But equally, we've not had chance to get too nostalgic over them just yet - so we'll certainly be considering offers for them both.
 Nico Keinath certainly flourished in red. Finishing 33rd in the ProTour standings, as our 2nd best rider. He has a wage of € 240,000 and stats of 79 MO, 76 Hill and 75 TT.
With a Tour de France stage win and 9th overall, then 3rd at Volta Portugal, 7th at Tasmania and 9th at the Dauphine, he had an excellent season. It will take a strong offer to see him leave, but you never know what could happen.
 Leopold König lit up the stage of the year at the Giro d'Italia, with his stats of 79 MO, 75 Hill and 74 TT. And yet, he was happy to renew at € 160,000.
His aggressive Giro saw him to 12th overall and 2nd in the KoM competition, which he backed up with some strong support riding of Andy Schleck at the Vuelta - then ending the season with triumph at the Czech national championships.
Others?
Anyone else is less likely, but transfers are transfers. Marcel Kittel becomes our longest serving rider, in his 10th season at the team, and still has a lot of value both in GTs and elsewhere. Reliable Luxembourgs Pit Schlechter, Sven Fritsch, Gilles Heymes and Bob Jungels are a key core, and unlikely to be worth selling - unless somebody else is super keen. And there's no reason to even mention anyone else in the squad!

Seeing my Italians slowly become less and less every year and Lavazza is already not amused, the Belgian core seems to grow year for year...and I am looking for a cobbler since Vanmarcke left the team.  |

Keinath's always been a rider that's interested me - not particularly great at anything, but just all round super-solid. His stat combo is somewhat unique; not many other riders in the MG i can think of that have such consistent stats. Vanmarcke up for sale too with such a low wage should start quite the bidding war too! Interested to see who you'll bring in to compensate for the potential loss of these guys

Andy Schleck is no longer quite the rider he once was, but he is still ready to launch an assault on the ProTour peloton, in a bid for a 6th Grand Tour. Our team sponsor is particularly keen to see him achieve that this year.
Nico Keinath remains as our second stage racer, having been our 2nd best scorer elsewhere. He will look to emulate his career best form of 2017.
For Nick van der Lijke, 2017 was not a year to remember. He's been working hard over the winter, and the team retain full faith in him. Meanwhile, Ben Gastauer will look to be aggressive as ever on the hills, collecting results throughout the season.

Marcel Kittel excelled with two stage wins this year and could take advantage of the shift of time triallists to PCT, while a home race is also in his eyesight this season. Goos and Kirsch will look to be as dependable as ever - particularly with no König to support Schleck at a GT this year.
Then we have two of our new signings. The new Eritel sponsorship demanded the signing of popular Eritrean Elias Afewerki, who will now bring his sprinting kick to the PT level. And scouring the free agency for a suitable target, Martin Reimer emerged as an ideal candidate - and a particularly helpful support rider for Van der Lijke.

Brazilian Godoy continues to make progress, and will play a greater role this year. Tom Wirtgen is the Luxembourg man of the future, and the key signing for us. Stagiare Galdoune has an excellent sprinting future ahead of him, and every chance of earning a full contract for next season.

We always enjoy loaning in riders from other teams, to support their development, and it is often a chance for new nationalities to join the setup. The Moroccan has already been identified as a rider who can support Andy Schleck on the big occasion. All will also enjoy the loanee rite of passage at Vesuvio, and get to ride in all of the cobbled classics as well.

 Amadou Bakari
Bewley's reign of terror ends here, now that Bakari has reached his full potential. He makes his return having been loaned here for the 2011 season, ready to build on his 29th place finish in Paris - Roubaix that year.

Will be interesting to see if this will actually make van der Lijke perform. He didn't have a great 2017 season, and some of his worst rivals have kept the difference. But I guess he will start delivering on more than the occassional level now, atleast
