Can't agree with all those problems either. I see the problem with the hill stat, but in the end Matthews won the gold race in my careers, Alaphilippe won liege. Sprint seems gameplay wise more interesting for me, results are around the same as in pcm 2016 (every now and then a gc contender finds his way into top 10).
At the start of my season the breakaways seemed weird but throughout the season it normalised. In Giro I had mostly 3 to 7 in the group's, first escapist won at stage 16 (didn't follow them by myself mostly).
I can agree on the pathfinding, but not a big difference to 2016 for me tbh.
Maybe I am just lucky |

What really is a shame: game only playable on 64-bit computers! |

I wish I could decide to actually buy it yet.....
Lots of troubles and one would have hoped that some of the improvements could make the game better.
My constant issue of having a better set up on those intermediate sprints so that correct Giro could be made is still a question. Have it changed in pcm17 ? Still like a direct race_rule for every race.
Guess what's said earlier Cyanide looks to take a couple of steps forward, but then backwards to gain nothing in the end.
Perhaps they need to hire new "brains" that could take them forward with a bang. Honestly the game should have been improved a lot more over this span of years.
Bugs are 100% certain in all games, and they can be corrected. It's the core things that is the bad stuff.
Scared that Cyanide doesn't know what road to take. Arcade-game or full out strategy-game. It's like FIFA and Footy Manager.
Problem with Cyanide is that they don't have a rival as I see it.
My wishes for strategy with a lot more options for DS and perhaps even introduce a proper road-captain to your team. If the AI can match all this I believe we got a winner on the strategy side at least.
Honestly the graphic is already very very good, and beside the face-thing getting better every year. OK make room for more options on frame, wheels, helmets and such. Having limits in a DB 2017 is smelling 1990s too me. Remember Footy with some 20,000 players and today guess several 100,000 and unlimited teams too.
That is a simple programming thing to be sure
Ouch
Never intended to write this much on a morning after, so to say.
But since I still waiver on buying this year or not I needed to flex my mind.
Sorry mates

I was sceptic when I bought PCM 2017 because I knew the 16 version was one of the worst in history. I played PCM 2016 for 3 days and then went back to 15. But I must say PCM 2017 is a great game and more realistic than ever. The AI and gameply has improved a lot!
So i'll recommend you to buy it if you have a big passion for cycling.

Dunno but I thought the AI in 16 was awfull and ruined the game, Example when i rode mountain stages it was so unrealistic.

Agree on that. I have my PCM 2017 just few days but no crash and great gameplay so far. In PCM 2016 I can't even play for a hour without crashes. Also no problem with loading like in 2016 etc.
So I like 2017. I think it's great game. PCM 2016 is unplayeble..

i do have the last 5 PCM and i would say 17 is the best. Yes they have the same bugs like in 16 and it looks like they copy the 16 version did change minimal things and bring it out as a new game
but the crashes i had in 16 are on 17 gone
im just a bit disappointed in the "Clan" function. first i was thinking they i can create a online driver and join a Clan-Team to ride with my driver in the clan team. That would be just awesome and would create some great teams
that would be great for PCM, but i think it wont happen never |

I changed my computer in a 64-bit by installing a Windows 64-bit on a formatted drive, which I had to point as my C-drive.
So, it was a huge effort to make it all run smooth again, but it was worth it! I must say, loading times are much shorter in time and I did not have one crash until now, after playing almost a week!
Earlier versions, I played from crash to crash, so this no-crash-thing-for-so-far is really the best improvement they could make! Thank you! |

I didn't even think that anyone would still use 32 bit.
Nice to hear, that you're happy with it.

They really shouldn't be using 32bit and trying to play PCM17 considering 32bit is limited to 4Gb memory and the minimum requirements for PCM 17 is 4GB RAM + 512mb graphics card ... |

I agree that the way the hill stat works (or doesn't work) is ridiculous, but I honestly don't see much of an effect. Yes, Gilbert is not competitive, but other than that, I've had almost exclusively pretty realistic results.
Can you or someone else explain the issue with the hill stat? Just considering buying the new edition since I haven't played since PCM 13. |

Something like:
they changed how MO and HILL work. No longer is a profile set to % hill and % mo, instead hill/mo is based on effort by rider. +85 effort is hill stat, the rest mo. This results in Ardennes races etc being easier for Mo riders, since +85 effort is hardly ever kept up for long enough to be competitive.
I think it's something like this, from what I've heard. |

The hill stat was addressed in a recent patch.
I don't know if this patch fixed the problem, since I don't own the game myself, but no one's complaining about it any more, so I guess it did. |

Totally agree.
I haven't played with PCM16, only the 15, it was the best PCM ever. And this is the worst.
OK, maybe in 15, it was too easy to win a sprint, if you had one of the best sprinters in the pack. Here in this /*Đ&@ i can't win a sprint. Changed difficulty to easy. Result? I won threequarter of stages without a sprint finish, but I still not can win a sprint. It's not well balanced. I play with a custom continental team with u23 cyclists and I'm on top of sp ranking. I edited my sprinter to 85, still unable to win , he's always blocked or the traint feiled to lead out.
There is a mycyclist (or what) mode, like in fifa. It's nice, i like that kind of modes, but is"s the same, like normal carreer. I started with a sprinter, he's always blocked, the direction buttons make it worse, my teammates cant make a train, i started a new carreer with a climber, it's much better and easier to achieve good results even on tougher levels.
They totally ruined sprints, but they say its more realistic. WTF??? |

The reason why you can't win sprint is not in the game, is in YOU! you don't know how to win it
