Good start for Bibby, better than all the other GC contenders so hopefully he should be prepared to follow attacks as best he can. I wonder if he can repeat his feat from Catalunya of scoring points on every stage, with a lumpy sprint stage coming up. |

Fantastic plan by Vontobel here to attack the early points in this race, congrats!
Bibby looking very good for the moment, surely he will score very decent here.

Brilliant, perfect start in the race!
Next: Finding a way to keep the leader-jersey for another day.

Congrats Vontobel. seems like you're strategy payed off!
Happy with Richardson unexpectedly in 5th, good for him. Anuar Aziz not losing much time also a plus.
Thanks roturn!

Well once again Itami underperforms.

Huh, nice third for Pozdnyakov 2nd in the GC is also nice, though we're obviously going to lose that one near the end.

Bibby's attempt at winning another points jersey seems to be going well then. Shame he couldn't take the GC lead though, bloody sprinters |

Othman has managed to grab the KOM jersey for at least one day, and I'm hoping he can continue to defend it over the rest of the race as it would be great to take that out of our only C1 race of the season.
With tomorrow's stage featuring climbs worth more points we will likely need to send someone in the break again if we want to take the jersey at the end of the race.

Hill at the end ruined it for the sprinters it seems, shame.
Ventoso could have gotten a much better result by being a bit clever there oh well, never gonna win from front position.

Dal Col losing time is okay in a stage that turned out more difficult than expected. With bonus seconds from the big box he wouldn't had a chance to keep the lead, anyway.
Aregger is just doing a fine job, we're pretty happy about his developement these last weeks. Positioning is always a topic in our post race discussions, but well... first of all we're happy to have such talented sprinters.
Won't see it that way. He was by far the best sprinter without a hill stat. From the report it's good to follow Forero and Angarita hitting a wall, your guy somehow managed to jump over. Imo Itami is the best bet for the last day... if it isn't gifted to the break.

First I wanted to write this as well. Then though Reinhardt finished 2nd. So Itami underperformed in comparison to him at least.
Even though Reinhardt at 67 hill is still better than 61 by Itami. |

Nah, that's not a fair comparison. Reinhardt is always well-prepared by some of the second best Swiss cycling coaches.
But to be honest: Pre-stage I hadn't imagined it gets so difficult for the pure sprinters, too. And from this angle I can understand valverdes disappointment quite well.

Very happy with Reinhardt right here!

I suppose I didn't really consider just how much better the other riders hill stats were. Im still disappointed though, Kuboki could have been utilized better if the hill was really that selective, so to not even come away with a Top 5 on the stage is a let down for sure.

Quite surprised with this field, I expected it to be way more packed. Well, with Ricco, Meintjes and Augustyn here I expect nothing less than a) a win; and b) another 10.

And what else is there to say? Redecker! Absolutely amazing. He's been knocking on the door with some good top 10s against the best PCT hilly sprinters, so it's awesome to see him have his shine. This might turn out to be one heck of a tour for us.
The most rewarding thing: I signed him in my first season on XP Lvl 1 and finally had him back for his first maxed season this year. I even remember Roturn made the first bid on him, but I still snatched him up.

Indeed I liked Redecker`s combination stats and thought, why not go for him.
I think it was even in late first week or early second week, when I made the bid. But can also be wrong.
So it`s nice to see him doing well for you and it`s nicer to see him in an African team! |

Good to see Maxime's team pick up a needed win.
Pretty decent stage, with a pretty disappointing finish. Tomorrow's going to suck and I don't see that changing for the duration of the race; there's only two stages Anuar Aziz can make a difference and today's wasn't quite what I'd hoped for. Oh well.

Decent result for Kadri this time, though it's a bit disappointing that Rodrigues loses more than a minute. Hopefully he'll make up some time in the MTT.
