Not a bad start from Duarte... Just 7 seconds down on Uran. Now, to try and attack to defend on the hills... |

Nice to see Valio continue their good start with another win
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Well, that was decent... Nepom has a good position again after the San Luis stuff, and the long TT is something which favours him quite a bit if he can limit his losses elsewhere.
Super Marios with another top 20 in a TT

Great to see Paillot win a stage. I am so sad that I had to sell him, as he was one of my favorite talents.

Good start by our key guys: Cataldo, Schär and Aregger. Hope to see them shine the coming days.
Gratz to Paillot and Valio, winning this one by three seconds is convincing.

Well not bad from Kwok, and Shikai isn't too far down on Uran and Intxausti so that is also good.

Good start for Bibby, but the not the best start for Pinot - can only guess he's going for the KoM and PCM is treating Bibby as leader. Forgot I'd sent Yates here, so this could turn out to be quite a nice race for us. |

I can't even formulate a proper sentence right now, I'm so happy and so relieved for the team to have finally managed to do something this season! Great ride from Benat, and also great support from the team. A little disappointed Brenes again didn't even contribute to helping but oh well.
Uran puts himself in prime position to take the win overall. He doesn't have to deal with the burden of leading so early and tiring his team, and is within striking distance with a long TT still upcoming. Denifl not as dominant as I expected, but that will probably change.
Thanks for the report Matt!

Yes, a break appearance.
Oh, it had to be a puncheur.
Still, I am liking what I am seeing. Ablenado looks decent, perhaps he could get around a top 10 + white. Just need to limit those losses on the hilly stages. (Those were pretty depending on the MT stat last year, If I remember correctly).
Oh, and Congratz Eden, brilliant start for Intxausi and the team here.

Wow Roche, what a ride with only 78 MO! If he wins tomorrows stage with some deficit, he could actually podium in the race. Glad to see Intxausti get the win, really is about time he won. Also glad to see someone in the breakaway for once

Wow things are going fast at the moment. I can hardly keep track.
Good to see Paillot do what he was bought for in the prologue: Winning. Now I just hope he can repeat that in the long TT.
Anacona about on the level I could expect, had hoped he would have been slightly more active considering he will lose a lot in the long TT. Would be nice to get Samoilev or Sørensen in the break one of the coming stages aiming for stage/KOM glory.

Now that's some amazing stuff by Nepomnyachsniy! Now let's not lose too much time in the hills, and secure a podium in the TT

Thanks Matt.
Now that is a great, experienced, stage from Contador. Doing no more than he had to, he finishes on the stage podium, hopefully hasn't expended much compared to the rivals, and is well positioned for the GC battle.
Team all looking good! |

Nothing gained, nothing lost. Hollenstein, Maillet, Kohler already showed activity the last two stages, so we can't complain.
Thanks for nice reads, matt!

Another show by Zielinski, going to continue his great standards from last season taking the KoM jersey <3 Then after to see that Roche takes another stage win, only to crown ourselves to a 2nd place in the GC. Roche will drop down to 4th place though after the TT and worse enough it will be hard to get a podium here.
If he had gotten himself 1 minute on this stage, he would have been able to win this race, so a good performance, but far from what his full potential is. Thanks for the thrilling report
