I think the shortening might make it more exciting because there will be more attacks. Although I will miss the traditional scorched earth at the top, doesn't feel like Ventoux without that.

Just be patient, my comrade, 3rd week is the time for glorious skirmish. Limiting his losses to Mr. Froomberg at around 30 seconds should be the goal for Ventoux.

Losing 30 seconds to Froome would be a bad sign, he should at least be aiming to match anything Froome does but he can't lose time here

We could see some gaps before the race even reaches Ventoux thanks to strong winds in the valley, if a team sees the opportunity to gap some other GC riders/teams then we could see some carnage, BMC and Sky seemed pretty happy lifting the pace yesterday and it would be a good way to climb back up the GC for TvG and Porte if they can shed some climbers before they reach the climb.
Oh and here is a video from Ventoux yesterday
Can't hold a race in those conditions, anyone under 65 kg's would be blown of the mountain

Maybe Jarlinson Pantano will pull out his umbrella and let the wind carry him to the stage victory

This is starting to sound dangerously like Poulidor in 1965 - easily the strongest rider in the race, he bided his time and Gimondi was still in the lead before the final ITTs (a mountain one and a flat one) Poulidor was sure he'd win from there but Gimondi beat him in both. Poulidor would've won if he attacked on any of the climbs he'd been strongest on.
Tell me I´m stupid, but in my opinion today is the day when Nairo will lose the tour, my guess is that long before Ventoux starts Quintana will be far down on Froome
But if he can hold on to Froomes wheel today a Tour Victory is in sight...
Froome wins tour today. Sky runs the other climbers tired already in the wind on the flat, also Froome make his awesome acceleration on mountain and running his own race to the finish.

Please stop doing the thing where you post the same thing a minute later, as I was told once it's damn irritating.

Well Quintana handled the windy stage yesterday well enough outside of that last bit where he was no further back than 16 seconds and in the end lost 6 on the line, they won't get rid of Quintana on the flat part of the race and I'm yet to see why they will drop him on the climb unless Froome is really in that much better form

Because Froome is better and Quintana will always lose
