Malori successfully underwent surgery last week and is fully conscious. He still needs to stay in Buenos Aires Hospital though but a transfer to Italy is hopefully coming soon.

Bad news for Jan Dieteren. While doing a standard screening he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He has started chemotherapy and is out for an unknown term of time.
Het Laatste Nieuws reports that Femke Van Den Driesche's dad and brother have been stealing canaries from a pet shop. Apparently they got caught on CCTV

The van den Driesche's sound ever more and more like a stupid family. Doping, motors, regular crimes. Flying the Belgian flag with pride
In other news: Aviva Womens Tour route has been released. 5 stages spread across the country, covering a larger area in the past and with some significantly tougher roads. It won't be a straight forwards sprinters battle this year.
Some nice hills scaterred around should spice things up and open up opportunities for attacks and solo/breakaway winners.
I'll try and head over to Norwich to watch the opening stage, and possibly Nottingham for the final stage. We'll see nearer the time. Hope Tayler makes the trip
A good thing for Femke the family has a lawyer already. But yeah, they are from the region around Aalst, the Detroit or Newcastle of Belgium. People there are weird.

This clip and related story has been doing the rounds this week, often missing key details (or people ignoring key details).
Whilst it is a clear case of a car hitting a cyclist, and under law would be classed as Dangerous Driving at least and Attempted Murder at worst, it doesn't work out that easily.
The camera footage doesn't show who was driving the car. Why is this a problem, just prosecute the owner? Except it is a Hire Car so it doesn't have a specific owner. Well then just contact the company and find out who had hired the car at the time! Except that apparently the hire car company doesn't have this on record, and regardless wouldn't nessessarily be proof if the car was hired out to more than one person or to a company or event.
So yes it is a clear case. However it won't lead to a prosecution for good reasoning under law. And we all know morality means f*ck all in law.

Lets contrast this with news from London where a brand new separated bike lane has been opened along one of the most popular cycling routes. Massively increased safety for cyclists and it's a huge hit amongst commuters in the capital, and there are many more under construction. Alongside increased promises and funding for further developments based on the latest research which has bike rides outnumbering car rides inside 20 years.

I'm a little bit sick of the Cars vs Bicycles war in this country. It's f*cking dumb for so many reasons i won't bore this thread with.

Now thats what i call a reply, but joking aside the car v bike thing is pretty rife in the UK and the law almost every time rules in favour of the car but the sound of these bike lanes may be the way to go
Katusha's statement. Now, I swear that there is like a form somewhere, that has just a bunch of spaces to fill (team name, rider name..) and then it gives you a statement. Because I've heard this before.
I take the general suspension means this is a second positive, making Paolini the first? Ok, cocaine is bad, but it doesn't make you a better cyclist. So a general suspension shouldn't happen here in my opinion. Even if it is a very dodgy team.

This video leaves me speechless, the car driver an absolute horrible "human" being to even keep driving.. Horrible to hear his breathing after the accident too. But I can only support the claims he makes in the end.
