Great loanees for your team! Saber is a nice signing and I feel FroomeDog won't be the only one after him next season Sorry we couldn't add Bennett to your list, but I'm sure you'll be able to chase him down again next season. At least if you won't, I might!
@Africans: I will be looking forward to your ideas about Saber next year I really like his package and if he comes with a reasonable wage next season, he even may be Gossy's replacement! But time will tell. Guess it won't hurt to have a rider, who's an important target for other teams
Evert Verbist is our latest signing off free agency. The 32 years old Belgian strengthens our northern classic squad, which basically didn't really exist prior to the season. While he ain't offers the whole package of a allround cobbler, Verbist at least should be strong enough to support Marcus Burghardt on less hilly routes and definitely adds some needed experience on the pavé to support our entire team in that matter.
In the meantime, we also had several riders being confirmed to leave Jayco'z for this upcoming season: Giovanni Visconti and Domenico Pozzovivo surely as the most prominent and succesful riders from last season. Both did well to help us riding a strong first PT year and they will be missed. Haijun Ma and Pim Ligthart as well as Steele Von Hoff contributed on their parts of the road, but went for good offers. Brenton Jones is trying his luck in the CT, while Rhys Gillett couldn't yet find a new team and had to be sacked.
Evert Verbist | 32 years old | XP: 4.100 | Wage: 170,000€ already maxed
Would have liked to put in an offer for Ma, but never got around to it. Verbist is a solid addition though, will be good support. Chun Kai Feng is an awesome rider though, I noticed him, but I've only really gone for Japanese riders this window, so I hope he does well for you!
Nice to see you add the boosted (Im pretty sure, or my memory sucks) Cheng Ji as well.
And Saber looks really solid too! Really like what you've done this transfer window! All the best in the upcoming year!
Finally here: Nathan Haas will add depth for Jayco'z
Nathan Haas has often been linked to Oz Cycling and now it finally happened, that the puncheur will get to ride for Australia's premium cycling team. Haas probably will become one of Jack Bobridge's most important helpers in our key races, but may also see quite a few race days in a free role, where we hope he will show some aggressive racing to repeat results like Giovanni Visconti had in his years with Oz Cycling.
With the transfer period soon finished, our team looks more and more complete. We are still in talks with three stagiares to join us for a few races, but no more full professional will be added now. A detailed presentation of our roster, schedule and goals will follow the next days. Stay tuned, stay Oz!
Nathan Haas | 27 years old | XP: 4.100 | Wage: 50,000€ already maxed
A great rider for sure! Didn't need to sell my boy Nathan, but when I first did it's good to see him on a team like Jayco'z (where he belongs, frankly ).

Coming back down to earth after a stellar season - crowned by an unexpected world championship title - is not what professionals love to experience. Goss is no exception: our top sprinter, now aged 30, had a difficult season last year and wants to bounce back in 2016. Coming off a succesful 2014 campaign, Gossy couldn't score a single victory when wearing the rainbow jersey in 2015. Three podiums in our goal race (stage-win) Giro d'Italia and a 5th place in the challenging Lisbon Classic turned out to be his best results.
His position as our main sprinter is yet undisputed, but Jayco'z off-season activities may show, that Goss won't be unquestioned in our next transfer period: adding an upcoming Lahcen Saber may not only help the team scoring a few additional points, but should also ensure to put some pressure on Goss.
“It was a tough year but I am still motivated that’s for sure. If I wasn’t, I could go back and sit on the couch and not worry about riding a bike. But I still want to win bike races and I still want to be at the front of the races and successful in the sport.” - Matthew Goss -
[img-l]https://i.imgur.com/7OsMkG4.png[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l] 29 years old | Sprinter What has been: rode for Jayco'z in 2015 What will be: will ride for Fox Sports - BikeNZ Cycling in 2016
Steele Von Hoff and Oz Cycling: it hasn't been a long "marriage" between those two parties eventually. After joining our team from Project: Africa last year, replacing a struggling Anthony Giacoppo as Oz's leading second tier sprinter, 'The Hoff' never really couldn't stemp his mark in a tough year for himself. While the team did very well in it's ProTour debut, Von Hoff struggled to score notable results in both ProTour and HC events. A solid 6th place in the second stage of the Tour de Suisse would be his best result at the end of the season.
Of course he hadn't been signed to score us big points, but with also Goss not being at his very best, our sprinting core never really got to impress. Despite losing Tom Scully during the renewals, Von Hoff was always expected to possibly see his name on the trading block. Which happened quickly: the versitale sprinter moves down to the CT level, where he joins the Australian based Fox Sports squad: stepping back to move foward.
“If things go to plan, he’ll use the coming season to clock up wins, build up confidence and to prove to himself and others than he fully warrants a ProTour berth once again.” - Shane Stokes | CyclingTips -
[img-l]https://i.imgur.com/GG23zxm.png[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l] 23 years old | Timetrial specialist What has been: at Jayco'z since 2015 What will be: reaching his full potential in the ProTour this season
In a less deep timetrial setup than Jayco'z used to have the past years, up and coming Kiwi James Oram may be a name to watch. The young gun - who initially negotiated to ride as a stagiare for Oz last year - signed a full time contract late in the transfer period 2015. He got the chance to develop his skills on the highest level and so he will in the nearing 2016 campaign. Another important year for the talent to reach his full potential.
Certainly not one of the hottest talents in the sport, Oram still knows that Jayco'z management is putting some confidence in his potential to become a valuable memeber of our team's TTT core. While the entire rider's schedule is not yet confirmed, the young Kiwi is rumoured to get the chance of racing two Grand Tours this season. A fact, that should definitely boost his motivation and skill level.
“If I can get a few results along the way, it is always nice, but I’m really just focusing on building myself as a rider. I always ride for the win, whether it be for myself or a teammate. ” - James Oram -
[img-l]https://i.imgur.com/PPv5w9r.png[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l] 23 years old | Climber & Stage Racer What has been: Tour de l'Abitibi (juniors) winner What will be: coming back to Jayco'z in 2017, being loaned to In-n-Out in 2016
Another talent from New Zealand, another name to watch out for: Dion Smith has been of those "key signings" in these transfers period. The 23 years old climber, who showed some great promise when racing at juniors level a few years back, finally made his way to professional cycling. And it's of course big news for the Kiwi that he quickly agreed to terms with Australia's most succesful cycling team. To compare one talent with another is never truly fair, but anyway: Smith kinda follows into one of Oz Cycling's first ever signings' footsteps.
George Bennett's, to be precisive. The climber, who left Oz to join Project: Africa last season, was one of Oz Cycling's only bright lights in a tough debut year 2012. Smith - fortunatelly - doesn't have the burden of a similar heavy contract like Bennett had back then, but he seems to offer a similar promising potential. "He has been a big target for Oz", said Jayco'z management just a few days ago. Both Smith and Jayco'z take things serious though: the climber was immediately loaned out to In-n-Out (PCT) in order to get used to a certainly stronger competition than he used to race against in the past few years.
““I think that’s every young person’s goal, starting out,” Smith said when asked if hopes to race on ProTour level one day. “I’m just taking it step by step and not rushing things.” - Dion Smith -
Love this team slightly less after entering the market, but will follow and as always top notch HQ and posts

Bobridge looks so potent on 82 Hill! Looking good for a solid season - depends on what the likes of Goss/Saber do. Saber could put in a few suprise performances. Look forward to battling against Burghardt in Roubaix with Hoffman

In the past, there have always been transfer targets, which never worked out. Free agents, trades or loand deals.. too many names on those lists, which featured Oz's must-have-cyclists. Two of those names are featured in this article though: Wouter Wippert as the first. The Dutch sprinter rode for Quickstep, where he found a good atmosphere to make his first steps in the ProTour. As soon as Quickstep disbanded just a few days prior to the transfers period 2016, Wippert once again became a target for Oz.
Accelerating fast and surviving challenging routes, that's two notable strengths of the Dutchman. Wippert probably won't become a ProTour winning sprinter, however, he surely offers a nice package to be both a strong leadout and a dangerous sprinter in less packed fields. He is expected to become the chance to be Oz's main sprinter in a few races, mainly those HC events, that the team will get to ride on a regular base.
"Jayco'z is giving me the opportunity and guidance to succeed in the ProTour. Together we've made a plan for the next two years to develop myself as a sprinter and that gives me a lot of confidence. I can't wait to start this new project!” - Wouter Wippert -

It's not like we hadn't tried, but unfortunatelly, we not yet came to add this exciting talent from New Zealand to our roster. In order to build a competitive team for our ProTour debut last year, the Oz hadn't the financial power to compete with Puma in the bidding for Bevin. A matter that still hurts, as the Kiwi - while not being rated as the hottest talent on earth - would be a nice fit to our squad.
Bevin did promote to ProTour with Puma now and just like one year ago, the Oz couldn't really make a realistic offer to "finally" bring Bevin, where he truly belongs. Following his progress with Puma closely is at the top of our to-do-list for the nearing 2016 campaign. It ain't a secret, that it's a matter of our manager's heart to keep tracking one of his personal favorites.
“He is a rider, who seems to have it all. He would be a great addition to the team.” - TS Moha | Jayco'z management -
