Definitely some interesting riders released, but if I were you, Choi would be priority #1 so I suppose thats what happened.

Correct..
I even went over the cap to secure having both Choi and the strongest core from last season. Unfortunately some talents and locals had to pay a high price for that relegation.
And I have to pay a fine

Haha, I'm sure you do
If I sell you a couple of Malaysians I will be under the salary cap, but will then be 3 riders short of 15 - the minimum requirement in CT.
So thank you for your offer, but that doesn't solve the problem it only changes it |

I see some interesting riders both being renewed and not renewed. We may have to have a talk at some point.

Renewals surely weren't easy for you. It's nice to see that you could keep some of your strongest riders, but it's also great that some decent Asian riders are now free agents.
Oh and btw. I'm also very open to talks about how you can get back under the salary cap. |

You are all fighting to get to loan Choi from me and pay his full wage right?

We are pleased to announce our new squad after a hectic transfer season. Most of all, we are very happy to see Ki Ho Choi staying as that was our main objective, and we thank Oz Cycling for helping develop Hong Kong's biggest star. Thanks also to Meiji for taking Fominykh on loan!
Secondly we are pleased having secured some great Aussies for the sprints, good Kazakh helpers, a Russian cobbled fighter and a Kiwi who will be our best man against the clock.
We think and hope that this team will be highly competitive in CT.
2015 Squad | Trent Lowe | €130,000 | Michael Matthews | €115,000 | Christopher Sutton | €50,000 | William Walker | €55,000 | Abolfazl Gilanipoor | €75,000 | Behnam Khalilikhosrosham | €50,000 | Alexandr Dyachenko | €50,000 | Alexandre Shushemoin | €100,000 | Ruslan Tleubayev | €55,450 | Jack Bauer | €150,000 | Dmitri Kozontchuk | €50,000 | Chan Jae Jang | €50,000 | Sung Baek Park | €50,000 | Kun Hung Hung | €50,000 | Yin Chi Wang | €75,000 |

At last, Compal will be at the upper end Team looking really solid, surely winning division material for sure. Awesome depth and leaders everywhere, Kozontchuk is a very crafty signing should bring some unexpected points. Bauer at this level should be wise purchase as well.
Great window for you, will be nice to see Compal winning plenty I hope ;D

Hehe, thanks, I hope so too!
I'm pretty happy about the team now, I'm just a little sad that the average age is quite old and that I have no other real talents than Choi. Surely next window we'll prioritize talents as well (if we promote ), but for now, we just need point scorers. |

Matthews - Big in Asia
Compal-Merida have finally found a sprinter who brings in big points for the team. And Michael Matthews, bought from Risa-Ergon prior to this season, has not only delivered wins, but he has also proved to be extremely consistent, with several 2nd, 3rd and 4th places in the flat stages.
The last month have been outstanding for the Aussie, and especially Tour de Langkawi was a real boost for his confidence, when he grabbed the points classification from major rival Richeze with his win on the last stage.
We are extremely pleased to see Matthews among the top scoring riders in CT this season and we're looking forward to see him continue his form.
Stage 4 - Tour de Langkawi

Stage 10 - Tour de Langkawi

Overall point classification - Tour de Langkawi

Stage 4 - Tour de Taiwan

Nice to see Matthews doing so good for you! He was a bit on-off last season for me, but when he's good, he is always high up there.

Compal-Merida prolongs contract
Going in to the final stage of the most sucessful Armavia/Compal-season in history, we just got the message that Compal-Merida will continue as a sponsor for hopefully what will be a PCT-team next season.
We definately needed to relegate in order to reshape the team. Now we're looking forward to play with the big guys in PCT and this coming season we're looking to consolidate. A top 15 - top 20 is our goal and with a couple of quality signings, I believe we can achieve just that. We want to keep the entire team if possible and we're currently looking to bring in 4-5 guys that would help us bring in points at a higher level. We have some names ready, but hopefully we'll be able to keep them secret until a bid is made.
Along with the news about the renewed contract, came also some news regarding the kit.
We confirm we'll use the same jersey for the next season. First of all, we're extremely happy with the work of Bikex, our kit designer, and secondly; The people of Taiwan are very superstitious, so the worst thing we could possibly do to our loyal fans is to make any major changes after a really sucessful season. Therefore we hope to see the black and green colours in front of the peloton also in the upcoming season. |

Good to see the team has some stability for next season - superstition is always a good thing

Unfortunately we still we will again be swapping divisions, seems we are destined to never be competing along side Compal.
It's great to see you get your promotion back to PCT, I just hope that you can build a squad that is capable of keeping up the success you've had this season and finish quite a lot higher than you did in previous PCT seasons.
I also hope that sticking with the same jersey brings you more luck than it did for my side this year as I don't want to see us swap places again next year.

One of my favourite sides in the game and old D2 buddy, still jumping in and out of divisions.
Happy to see you promoting and keeping the sponsor, best of luck for the off season and next try to establish Compal as legit strong PCT team!

Very well done on the promotion there, pleased to see the kit staying.
Can't help thinking that PCT is going to be packed with Asian focused teams next season though (Siam, Compal, Indosat, Ayubowan, Meiji....) Anyone else?! |

Thanks to all of you for the kind words!
In front of the transfer season, Compal are now planning for their future.
In a short comment, the Compal-director told the press that even though the team did great this season, we have to realize that the majority of the team is now 30 years or above, and we need to start produce some new talents that can be ready in a couple of years.
Compal will therefore be looking for some young talented riders to keep our sponsors happy, and have already started the scouting.. |
