So Netia, OTP, Severstal and Fablok gonna get so many same targets in both races and riders Well I can only say best of luck and I don't hope we'll cross each other much in the transfer season, as all should get some enjoyment out of the game xD
As I know that your quite good at this from EPIC, I just have the worthy opponent I need
This is going to get interesting, not sure wether to be scared or excited about the transfer season. I think I'll go with the latter.
Good Luck though Sikvio, I seem to see you a lot during transfers in most games. |

@sgdanny and trekbmc: Might be. Though I don't hope so. Just keep you hands off Russians and Slovenians and we're good I might as well focus on Argentina as third nation then
@matt: I don't really think we'll meet so much in transfers as we have very different focus regions. And who knows, maybe I just set these goals in order to confuse everybody
@maximka: Well, they developed a whole new line for us
RIA Novosti:
"Severstal bringing up a new star on the cycling horizon"
Just yesterday, RIA Novosti featured a stunning report about our new team. Basically, it contained three big parts, the first one about how Severstal-Mercator is being built up from scratch, the second one taking a deeper look on Severstal's new marketing strategy - and a third one compiling the most important information from the sponsor's press conference, held lately in Cherepovets.
As the article, overwritten with "Severstal bringing up a new star on the cycling horizon", was pretty long (and in Russian), we will give you a short summary of the stuff, which might be most interesting for you. We presume, that you have already mentioned the team's development - and that you are not interested that much in Severstal's inner processes (if so, please tell us, and we'll translate more for you). Thus the major focus lies on what the acquired sponsors had to say on their plans:
Russian main sponsor Severstal's CEO Alexey Mordashov did not hesitate to speak about his high ambitions: "We spend lots of money on this project. Does it sound wrong that we demand to be successfull therefore? Yes, appearing in a pro cycling peloton offers good marketing already, but we want to be up there in the leaderbords." A question from the audience, if result-wise failure would lead to a possible step back by his company, remained unanswered. Still, Mordashov pointed out that he "prima facie trust[s] the manager. Thus we do not demand to see any specific names on the team's roster." However, it should be "clear that it would make us happy to see Russian names high up the CT leaderboards."
Mercator's president Toni Balažič took a different approach. He held a longer speech about his dream of "developing cycling in Slovenia and our further focus regions, so that we not only increase our brand appearance, but also help young people to do the sport they love - for a living." The sponsorship was entitled as a "long-term strategy, of course." Being asked for any names of riders, Balažič said that "it is always hard to name specific riders you want on a team. But I've always been a big fan of Grega Bole. And he certainly looks for a new team - so why shouldn't he be racing under Mercator's colours?"
Other sponsoring companies only had minor time to talk to the audience, so Baltika Breweries used it mainly for remembering everybody that they sponsored all the drinks in the room. In terms of cycling they said that "a Russian team core would highly satisfy us". Later on the evening, a drunk guy wearing a Baltika shirt yelled "give us f*cking Trofimov, we want that damn Trofimov, for god's sake." Baltika already sent an official apology for that inconvenience.
Both Stels and Bosco officials were rather modest. Genuinely, they thanked the team for using their own bikes and clothes, promising to "try the very best in order to assure a premium quality of our products."
Last but not least, a member of the Podravka management board spoke about the company's world-wide serving area, which "gives us the privilege to happily welcome every rider on the team - regardless of what his home country is." As many people started to show a slight aversion, he made a fast addition: "Of course we would like to see one or two Croatian riders on the team though." When a reporter asked, whether a "Colombian or Australian rider would fit" into Podravka's marketing concept, he chose not to answer.
The team's management hopes you are well informed now about what our sponsors had to say on the latest press conference. If you have any further questions on the behalf of the article, do not hesitate to ask us (or learn goddamn Russian and read it yourself on ria.ru, where you also have pictures and not such a stupid wall of text).

Trofimov you say?
Sounds very interesting. I like what is said and Bole would be an interesting leader for your team. I'm curious how you'll manage to combine instant quality and long term talent.
Good luck!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Well, there's a certain Russian sprinter on a certain African team who said he's tired of his African holiday and wishes to return to Russia where there is a sufficient supply of vodka to meet his demand.

Originally I was thinking about Slovenians, I have lost all interest in them now. Bole would make a good leader though... |

@knockout: I'm also interested in how I'm gonna handle that balance
@danny: Don't. You. Dare. Look at @trekbmc, he understood how it works
(Go to Eastern Europe they said. It will be fun they said.)
@aidan: Vodka is a strong point - and we got lots of it. I guess we'll be in touch when transfers start.

We are happy to announce the signing of several riders already. This is only the first round though, so stay tuned for more!
Pretty happy with how the regional focus works out.

Good to see Savitskiy getting picked up, having been a stagiare for me at Vesuvio last year! The main reason I got him was for the Tour de l'Avenir and he did a good job in the opening prologue, before supporting Alex Kirsch to win the race for me.

@SN: Yeah, I hope to be able to develop him into a decent rider.
We signed our leader for the upcoming season. Hopefully he'll be able to achieve our goals, but that should be quite possible with 78 HI.

Mendes looks like the perfect rider for your goals. If he can repeat his performances from last season then he will be a huge signing for you.

@knockout: Yeah, I hope so.
Trasnfers Almost Completed
During the last days, we were able to sign a number of riders who we hope will make us able to fulfil our goals the coming season.
We are very happy that those guys will join us:
(on top of those already confirmed)
Grega Bole | Andriy Khripta | Gabor Kasa | Adrian Honkisz | Aleksander Mironov | Dmitriy Ignatiev | Luka Grubic | Luka Pibernik | Ivan Balykin |
Also we were able to loan-in:
Jan Hirt | Alexander Foliforov |
Thanks to Becherovka and Tinkoff at this point.
And now here you can see the latest version of our roster. We are going to only add one more rider to the squad by the looks of things.

Really like your team. Russian cycling is already quite well in the MG. A 2nd team developing their talents can only be good.
Mendes, Bole, Khripta and Kasa are a great CT core. |

@danny: Hirt isn't mine actually, he's just loaned in. But I'm also looking forward to the battle
@rotun: Thanks. Actually I wanted to be a bit more Russian, but still I'm glad with how thinks turned out.

Nice team, good luck in 2015 with this cool squad.
We will have to talk next year obviously, as there is one man in your squad who rightfully belongs to Metinvest.

Wrapping up transfers, Announcement of full squad and calendar
As the previews are flowing in after the finalization of transfers, we are now able to present the whole team. There has been some slight variance with Andriy Khripta, so that we chose to dissolve his contract, which was better for both him and the team in the end. Of course we are sad to let him go, however, the team is still strong enough.
Spoiler In fact, we lost him not primarily because I've been too dumb to calculate numbers and see different colours, but I misunderstood the loan cap all time during transfers. Still, that's my fault and has been not exceptionally smart. So I'm thankful only Khripta was removed instead of Mendes or Bole who would have hurt us more probably.
Here you can view our whole team. It is also updated on the front page of our HQ:
Furthermore, we now announce our calendar (which you can also view on the first page). We chose to only participate in C2 and C2HC races as we could fill our leader's schedules pretty well with those and we just don't believe some weaker riders could have done anything in C1. We will see how this approach turns out - fingers crossed.
