Nice to see Pure Black back in action.
What will the rest of your squad be?
Will it contain the rest of the pure black boys? Like James Oram, Dion Smith, Taylor Gunman, Mike Northey, Louis Crosby, Roman Van Uden, Shem Rodger, Jimmy Williamson, Michael Torckler, Alex Ray?
Or even take out the Junior team, but then you will not have a proper squad.
I was a solid supporter of Pure Black Racing, just this time don't have conflicting sponsors! |

@optop nice to see another PureBlack fan, and another Kiwi. I will try and answer your questions without spoiling future updates  . I will try and retain many of the old squad, however PCT.this time so Sergent and Bennett likely to be main attractions. I won't nab all the Avanti boys as I have a rivalry storyline coming. And don't worry, sponsors have all been sat down and told to buck their ideas up and co-operate, as well as sufficient funding. No premature close-down this time around!

I was born and bred in the beautiful Manawatu, and I first got into biking at the local MTB race, which I also now hold the record for most wins and record time, though Sam Gaze is coming this year so scratch that.
I finished twentieth, not bad since I was five and in the U-9s, my natural physique blending perfectly with my inability to do anything good with this things that stick out the side above the wheel.
I got into road after watching Lance win his second TDF, later that year I bought myself a road bike, we weren't rich so there's the savings for the next two years gone, better win some races. I duly delivered.
Then came the day my life changed forever.

Hey guys, our first batch of riders who have put pen to paper can now be revealed, they are mainly ex-PureBlack but a few big names have signed on.
The ex-PureBlack riders are:
 Roman van Uden
Mike Torckler
Jimmy Williamson
James Oram
Dion Smith
Michael Northey
We have also secured the contracts of:
Sam Bewley
Tom Scully
Rico Dene Rogers
Alex Frame
And our two first leaders, both from Trek Factory Racing:
Hayden Roulston
Jesse Sergent
That's all I can announce for now, though I can tell you we are in deep talks with a very famous foreign rider to join for 2016!

@trekbmc Yeah looking at stats I think 2015 should be solid, we won't promote most probably.
@sutty A real coup, Roulston brings experience and Sergent brings immediate talent and potential.
@SSJ2 Thanks, I'm doing that starting next report.
@the_hoyle They sure do, a lot of potential and a lot of experience makes for a good team, we are looking at a few young foreigners to bring in, including one rider who would be a real coup, not for his feats on the road though.
@Croatia14 Wow, thanks a lot, especially from a guy with a great team story of his own.
@Jakstar Thanks, my motivation is pretty high atm but reports will slow down from February.

Due to limited success on the road, the sponsors at Team BKCP-Powerplus have repeatedly pulled out of the road side of the team, which is thought to mean that the CX team will get a bigger budget and another star rider. Many fans are calling for a salary cap to stop sponsors luring too many star riders per team. UCI officials are yet to respond to this, both on the road and in the mud, though it is expected they will not introduce any new rules. This news comes as Lars van der Haar was reported to be in talks with Vastgoedservice-Golden Palace, something which many CX purists are divide on.

Hey guys, it's Josiah again.
Well back to the modern day, I was at a small CX race in Britain, and it turns out two people who have over the last 2 days become very important in my life were there too.
First off was Mathieu van der Poel, only a year my senior and already one of the World's best Cyclocross riders. Turns out he was here as some kind of a publicity stunt. Anyway, he was there and broke the field with his talent. I managed to stick with him until the second climb, he is just such a machine. In the end I finished 12th and Mathieu on the top step of the podium.
Secondly was Tanē Tanahuiata, GM of the reincarnation of PureBlack Racing. He sought me out after the race and casually suggested I sign for PBR. Of course I accepted!
Anyway, he also talked to Mathieu after BKCP-Powerplus folded about a contract. Apparently he put pen to paper yesterday, which is great, a real coup for the team!
I am now on a plane home to start training for the road, I thought I was finishing my unusual collection of CX races before starting the Junior Road circuit in February, but now I have a pro contract on the road I have adjusted my schedule.
