Well, your story is about doping, so Astana is the perfect team, I was just saying that it will end badly for your rider, not for your story.
EDIT: Didn't see your smiley face, I thought you were annoyed.

@the_hoyle Thanks?
@sutty I was actually gonna pick Sky or a Spanish team, but Neri sottoli seemed unrealistic, same with movistar or caja. Looking back sky might have been more realistic.

@sutty That could've been interesting.
@all This Storyline will be the last before the season begins and I decide on a format, probably races and cycling updates mixed with subplots like these. I also have finally picked a title, which I think fits Johnny nicely. I actually got it off a quote from this episode.
A Certain Doctor
The Astana training camp of 2013 became infamous and also crucial in the doping cases which later occured within the team, though nobody has ever decreed whether Dr. Michele Ferrari was really there. I can tell you he was, if you are going to believe my version of events.
In truth, he took to me like a duck to water, I was light, young, reasonably talented and would do anything to become a proper professional. But it was not he who introduced me to doping. I knew his links, and he really did know his stuff. He was all about weight, and I was light and small, a perfect climber, if I could get my power and endurance levels up, he said. I did work hard naturally on these attributes, but my first case of doping would not come until much later...

Canadian Junior Road Race Championships
After a fairly uneventful start to the season, with only 6 race days, I came home with only my Dad as a mechanic and of course no teammates. The circuit is flat with a steep 600 m speedbump near the end. We go around it 8 times. At the hotel I flicked channels and was surprised to find this set of favorites:
Tim Yerawatya, pure sprinter, same age as me.
Dexter Delacroix, 16-year-old punchy sprinter, inexperienced but ridiculously talented.
Johnny Fitzpatrick, attacking puncher, will look to get away on the speedbump.
A four-man group of no-namers got away on the second time round, and by the third circuit had a gap of 3:14.
On the third lap, I tested my legs up the hill. I felt tip top! Inexperienced young Dexter followed me, thinking it was a surprise attack. It didn't mean much, but his nervous tactics was a nugget in the back of my mind.
By the sixth lap the break was caught, and last year's TT champ Owen Rodgers tried a solo, but that was quickly put a stop to, we knew his talent riding alone.
On the final lap Dexter and I looked at each other tentatively up the speedbump, with Tim Yerawatya dying behind us, he was now the favorite. I acted tired, the oldest trick in the book, he relaxed on his lead-out's wheel. His more experienced team-mate tried to warn him, but I was off, over the crest and flying downwards as aero as possible, but being 58kg I think weight was on my side.
With 400m to go Dexter's lead-out opened up, I only had 10 seconds.
With 180 to go Dexter was flying, I was out of my saddle, my legs burning.
With 10m to go, I raised my arms and saluted the crowd, defending my title! Dexter was second and his lead-out Michael Newton holding out a plucky Tim Yerawatya for the third spot on the podium.

Canadian Junior Individual Time Trial Championships
Not expecting much here, a flat course with some minor undulations, top 5 sounds about right.
The Favorites:
Owen Rodgers, a real powerhouse who seems to never tire when going solo.
Tim Yerawatya, isn't a bad TTist at all.
Rico Pinault, a stage racer, good up the mountains and is comfortable on a TT bike.
I was 4th from last to start, the previous best time was Dexter Delacroix with a comfortable 57:12.
At the first check I was 3 seconds behind Dexter.
When I was powering up the only noticeable hill I got news Yerawatya had missed me by 6 seconds.
At the second check I had set a time 5 seconds faster than the previous record, I was flying!
Around the final circus of roundabouts, I got news that last to start Owen Rodger had cracked me by 32 seconds! This guys was a machine!
At the finish I had set the new best time of 57:02!
As I watched on from the hot seat Tim missed my time by 8 seconds.
Then Pinault hammered my time by 18 seconds, what a beast!
In the end Rodger took it by almost a minute over Rico, which meant...
I was third! Better than I expected, and good news going into The Tour of Qinghai Lake.

@All sorry for the break, it's easy to have a motivational slip when you are researching it all, I better get used to it though it will grow more as I want it when it catches up to real-time, it will be more fantasy and have more room to grow.

Tour of Qinghai Lake
Overall the sprint stages look to be a battle for second behind Modolo, who is in-form and has been quietly developing nicely. We are mainly here to deliver Marco Benfatto for the sprints, I am the best in the mountains so I have been given a licence to kill.
Favorites
Sacha Modolo, a powerful young sprinter, the favorite for a good majority of the stages.
Ariel Richeze, the nippy Argentine will always be a dark horse on flat stages.
Marco Benfatto, he is maybe not developed enough here for a stage win, but looks to be there or thereabouts in regard to podiums.
Personal
I want to help in the early stages of the lead-out train, but don't want to take too many risks in these wet conditions.

@sutty I would say me too, but for me there is no hope, only choice . Anyway thanks!
@trekbmc Yeah, I saw them in Fabio Melani and thought it looked pretty nice, so thanks to Cycleman. It does look fairly exciting, yep!
