After a slow start, I approached the front of the bunch and launched a deadly attack today.
Today I was 18th across Velogames on the stage, which put me in 5th across Velogames after 3 stages. I also took a commanding lead of the PCM.daily-league. Let's see if I can hold on to this one or if I'll be reabsorbed into the bunch tomorrow.
In PCM.Daily-League, I extended my lead after stage 4. However, and more importantly, I'm in the lead not just of our league, but across the entirety of Velogames!

Best congratulations! Zardini was an amazing pick! Bauer as well, I didn't even thought of him, but he's very cheap
@sutty,
I'm still 16th in the league! It will be great if I remain there, it would mean that I'm better than the average of a bit

Thanks! You know, everybody needs luck, but it wasn't just luck, as some people assume. I knew of Zardini back from Giro del Trentino, it was actually a rational choice with the points I had left. I thought this type of terrain could be good for him or one of his teammates. Good up short, steep inclines and reasonably explosive.
Bauer was a much more obvious choice though, for me. He's done well here before and it looked like Garmin were going to support him. For 6p? That's a bargain!
As far as the stage today, I didn't enjoy it much. Really poorly planned by the bunch and especially by OPQS. I maintain my overall lead, but mostly thanks to my cushion of 165p to the next best team that I had after yesterday. Even though things were stirred around behind me on the table, I leave today's stage with only 26p to the next team, after that specific team took 260p on me just today!
So yeah, not happy about that. Dowsett is real danger now because of his time trialling. I hope that both he and Brändle are exhausted and lose plenty of time on tomorrow's stage.
Also, I'm starting to see that the stages aren't as kind to the sprinters as I thought. I probably shouldn't have taken Cav (or Kittel). I should have gone for somebody like Izagirre, one of my late cuts, and used the remaining points to upgrade Sanz to somebody better as well. Oh well, if only I had the future results at hand when I was selecting my team.

I see that you're still first overall, it is a pride for pcm.daily, probably never happened
Yet again, I maintain the overall lead, 4th day in a row. However, I think I may lose it before this is over, either on the time trial or on GC-points unfortunately.
After looking briefly at the teams immediately trailing me, the last paragraph in my last post comes even more to light. They've basically done exactly that, and because of it, it's going to be relly hard to keep this lead until the end. After all, the 46p I have to the next team isn't much of a margin. I hope to finish on the podium at least, I think I deserve it after all of this time in the lead. Cheer me on.
On top of that, the only part stage remaining where I may have some advantage is the final stage, the sprint stage. However, today I also found out that Sam Bennett, one of my sprinters, didn't start. Great, that's just what I needed.

Good luck, I'm prepared to concede defeat to you in the daily league after a few of my riders fell back in the GC, hopefully you can hold on to the lead on the final day
My first good result in the Velogames competition, 2nd in our league and 43th overall.
EDIT: congrats to di Lego, you win the Velogames Britain competition overall! . With 20 points or so advantage, nice!

So the race is over and unless there's some really really late correction that changes things drastically,....I won the overall!!! OMG! Ehm...I mean...I'm used to this of course...I'm a pro at cycling prediction.
I can't say that I held on to the lead all the way, because even though it was all updated at the same time, there were three separate scoring moments today. Just as I predicted in a previous post, I got passed by at least one team (4th overall) and got caught by one (3rd overall) after the time trial. My team did ok, but not more, and it wasn't completely unexpected. As well, another top10 team (2nd overall) approached.
Fortunately, since these teams were more GC and time trial focused, I had a theoretical advantage in the sprint stage and thank all the gods that both Cav and Sanz performed well. Especially Sanz, I was really happy with him. You could argue that if Bennett had not quit, he could've been up there too, but well, he wasn't there. So Sanz was absolutely critical to get the upper-hand on my opposition before the round of GC-scoring. To be clear, here I was back up in first with some advantage again.
In the GC-round, I didn't do bad at all, I was just outside the top50 on that "stage". But as expected when your opponents are heavier on GC-cyclists, I was beaten by all three teams. Especially that was an issue when it came to the 2nd overall, because he did really well and clawed back some good ground on me. However, fortunately it was enough, and I kept my lead by 19p. (Unless something changes...don't do that to me!)

It seems your Vuelta team did a decent sprint for the line, but not your ToB team. You should look at the top performing teams and see how they differ from yours. You may see some pattern that could greatly improve your future results.

Thanks! And congratz to you too for the 2nd place in the PCM.Daily-League, as well as to OZrocker for taking the last podium spot. Nicely done!
