If you have Excel 2007 or later, then you could help out with some of the Ranking point calculations

Great! I'll send you a PM.
So long as races are played, it doesn't matter to me whether graphics are low or high.

Like a Lachis or Fast editor, something that can be used to edit the game. As long as i personally wouldn't have to edit .cdb files i can do reports

Usually no editing is needed.
Just copy&paste the files and you can start playing. |

I got perhaps the most stupid Q to date....
Tried reading most of the threads understanding that riders in a DB are based on the xls-files created in the beginning of a season.
A calender with races are made up, teams created with managers, then someone runs the game and that specific race with a created DB including those cyclist in the xls-file.
NOW the Q.
Looking at the race calenders I can´t figure out if someone creates a DB with these races included. I´m talking about the actual cds and zces files.
Some races in calenders are not in any stage DB, so they have to be cdx-files.
But to run a race and comment on it you have to have the correct setup. OR ?
This sounds stupid but I´m not getting the basics in this this man-game.
I have read the FAQ, but still the bottom line I don´t get is the actual cds and zces files. Which to pick and so on. Hope you understand my question.
In the end I might sign up if I only understood..... |

There are cds, zces files for all races, which are given to the reporters along with the cdb file and all graphics, startlists etc.
So the "correct setup" is given.
About signing up as new manager, it`s only possible at the end of the season in the application phase, which might still take a while.
If you are interested to report some races already, you can obviously PM SportingNonsense for further information. |

Hi there,
I currently play PCM12 and unfortunately missed the recent Steam sale on PCM13. I would be interested in maybe helping out with some reporting, but feel paying full price for PCM13 simply to do so might be a bit of a waste of money if there's not too much difference between 12 and 13. Particularly if there's a chance that at some point soon the Man Game switches to a more up-to-date version of PCM.
What is the likelihood of this happening? And is PCM13 worth it?
Cheers,
Kage |

It is a pretty big difference in AI, as well the fact that the game could never be running on more than 1 game. Continuity is one of the most important things about it.
And no, I don't think PCM 13 is worth it at this point.

So there's a Steam Sale on PCM games right now and I bought PCM13, so if someone is willing to talk me through getting myself set up for reporting, I'd like to help. |

Well, the best way to start will be to pick a race - Flat stage or Mountain stage is usually the most useful to choose. Take a team and have them abandon the race at the start. Then just watch the race as if you are the reporter, take notes/screenshots along the way, and then write up a report of the race - and send it to me for some feedback. I'd recommend downloading the PCMdaily 2013 DB as if you do become a reporter, this is what the ManGame DB is based on.
In terms of taking notes/screenshots mid-race my personal method is just to take lots of screenshots, capturing things like time gaps, names of riders in the break, names of attacking riders as well as the key action. It's especially useful if I'm not going to be writing the report immediately after playing the stage. I'll often save the replay too if I it was a busy stage, and to give a chance to go back and get in an extra screenshot or two if needed.

Hey,
if you still need reporters I would be willing to help out reporting the man-game.
The only problem may be that I only have pcm14 and not pcm13.
Thanks,

We always need reporters, but PCM13 is required to do it this season, so you can't really help!

Im not sure if this is illegal, not allowed on the site or if it would even work, but I do not play my PCM13 at all....
I myself do not have the time to do reporting, but I have PCM 13 and there are people that would love to report and the only thing stopping them from doing so is the lack of PCM 13. The game can always use more reporters... I would be willing to give out my digital copy. I think I'd have to give away the code I got in an email and I think install files (like I said above, if this is against the rules, Im sorry, if this was a physical copy, it would be a matter of giving a friend the disk or something so I think it might be okay.)
I have not really investigated that part of this, but I am pretty sure online required the exact same serial code when you first sign up for armada, so that may be an issue. I think you are allowed to use the serial code 3 times, to put it on different computers for example, and I have only used the code the one time.
Really I just want to help the man game as best as I can. I dont use the game at all anymore, so it could be better used for someone else.
I'd only feel comfortable giving this out to someone reputable within the community.
