Palini would match our young punchy riders policy, so I would be happy to take him on for a seasons loan. Nice team btw

Thanks mate. I will keep you Palini loan interest in mind, but to be honest Andrea already expressed his will to return to former Wiggle (now Good energy) squad for one more year-long loan. Both Andrea and me, we admire their work with young italian climbers and punchers, so our first contact regarding Palini will be with them, if there will be interest too.

The Maloja Mountain Nomads might be interested in a transfer of David Vitoria. He could bring some diversity into our squad, plus he's a rider from one of our home countries. Maybe we'll get in touch when transfer season comes.

Now that Good Energy are in the stages of looking to the future, they are once more expressing interest in helping the development of Andrea Palini.
After managing his race days badly last season, the team would like to make amends by assuring his place in one of the Grand Tours, and confirming that he would ride under the tutelage of Simone Ponzi, after all, who better to learn from?
Contact will be made to see if this is a viable option for both parties once transfers commence, as both teams stress that nothing has yet been sealed, or even discussed over tea, coffee or a glass of San Pellegrino.

@Maloja Mountain Nomads: Possible transfer of David Vitoria is what was on mind of Metinvest management when his contract was renewed at 50k, especially when we can see that Switzerland is country of growing interest from cycling perspective.
@Good Energy: We are glad to hear that such a team like Good energy is open to talks, we can confirm that private contact is reserved for actual transfer season. Metinvest is ready to talk also other possibilities with Good Energy management, however bottle of San Pellegrino should only serve as side-kick to Pinot Grigio, or other brilliant wine.

True, true... smart move by the management.
Team Vontobel is always interested in bringing home experienced swiss riders. A signing of David Vitoria could mean substancial progress in our team building. Plus his skills fit perfectly in our strategic aim.

During first days of the MG 2014 transfers, Metinvest management was less busy than last year, but anyway we had a lot of things to do. We were settling deals, we were negotiating with couple od free agents and it resulted in only one free agent being signed so far. It seems that no more than three or four riders will be brought to the team trough free agency.
Sergio Ghisalberti
Very experienced italian climber decided to join our ranks for basic salary of 50,000 Euros. As we let some of our climbing domestiques go, Sergio will be important part of our team in 2014, serving as main climbing domestique for Jaroslav Popovych. We are happy to have his experience and talent on board, even if it is probably only for one year, as he is not getting any younger.
No less than six riders are about to be sold via transfersm, we will tell more on that later today, as well as about our two big signings, so stay tuned!

We are happy to infrom whole cyling public about our recently sealed transfer with PT team Good Energy, which saw young Italian puncher Andrea Palini leaving our ranks, but what we got for him?
Noone less than one of the best TTists on the planet, mister Mikhail Ignatiev. Ignatiev was pending between teams Wiggle and Tinkoff during few last years, as both teams were using the loan system to make it possible. Now he became funding stone of our tries to push Metinvest project even further.
We are excited to have him on board, especially as he was our secret target for months and we built our 2014 goals in thought him joining our team. Hopefully Mikhail will fit nicely into our team and wil have good relationship in everybody in the team. Lets see who else will join him as the new face in Metinvest.

Experience and Talent landed!
After completing the transfer of Ignatiev and signing free agent Sergio Ghisalberti, Metinvest layed low for a while, counting options.
But not for long, as we decided to make a transfer deal with dear manager of Becherovka - Kiwibank. Thanks to that, we can welcome experienced czech puncheur František Raboň in our team.
František will lead Metinvest in majority of hilly races without a TT this year. His speciality should be in the finish of rolling stages, where he can show his fast finishing kick.
Fourth rider joining Metinvest colours for 2014 is talented Latvian strongman Andris Smirnovs. With 23 years on his belt, Andris is not the youngest talent, but our scouts informed us about his potential abilities. Yound Latvian can be great sprinter one day, he also feels good on cobbled terrain.
Thanks to our good relations with Privatbank - Nemiroff Professional Cycling, we are happy to send Andris on one year loan to their team. After their best efforts in developing skills of Metinvest's other riders like Tanovitchii or Dzhus last year, that is an obvious choice.

Ignatiev
Rabon is a solid new piece to your squad, who was linked to Oz for a day or so, too good deal for you, may add some points here and then!

Very solid team, Ignatiev will trash all races with hills and TT's. If Popo and Hoffman perform well too, Top 10 or even promotion are not out of consideration!
I look forward to Lijke and Hoffman battles in sprints a lot! Lijke beating Hoffman for that one stage inTour of South Africa was one of my highlights last year due to Hoffman dominance of the race A star was born

You definitely should try to avoid cobbled races.
Ignatiev, Popovych, Rabon and Hoffman sound pretty well. Last though needs to repeat his 2013 season first. |

Thanks guys, we will see how it pans out, but we realized that promotion should be out of question, so we focus on developing further and push for PT later, when likes of Zmorka, Grosu and Karnulin will be able to step up. But who knows what can happen, you never know with PCM and Hoffman in lineup.

Thank you for that great mention for us, really appreciate that!
You have a really nice looking team, should do at least decent thankfully to Ignatiev. Popo should still do a good job for you, Hoffman will be a hard one with so many sprinters in PCT, but I believe at least Fery Rabon should do a great job for you, it seems like PCM AI really likes him, at least it was like that in previous seasons! I will definetely cheer for him.

Thanks Roman, i have same hopes for Fery Raboň, now just to avoid Bellis and Ventoso-like riders throughout the season. I hope for some gutsy attacks thanks to his fighting nature
It seems that our transfers are coming to near end, with minor tweaks expected, so stay tuned for more info later today!

With first week of transfers coming to its end, Metinvest-Emirates is proud to present you two latest aquisitions from free agents pool. Two veteran Italians should fill the roles of loyal domestiques in stage races and will please our sponsor Gruppo Lucchini.
Marco Osella is veteran climber, who was released to free agency prior to transfer season by former Cisco team and we welcome him in our team for probably his last season in the professional peloton. Marco is pure climber and will spend majority of the season with Jaroslav Popovych and rest of mountain core.
Head stats: 75mountain
Wage: 60,000
Roberto Traficante is 29years old time-trialist, who should serve as the last missing piece of our TTT puzzle. In certain races Roberto can also fill the role of flat domestique, his good support abilities are a nice bonus.
Head stats: 73flat, 73TT
Wage: 50,000
