Miguel98
I have a feeling that your team might top the CT rankings by the end of the season. Smile

Alakagom
Yea some really nice signings. And your leaders are top notch too!

Indeed, those three latest signings will definitely help you doing something special in the CT! For a moment (where I forgot SN was selling him only to CT-teams) I wanted to sign Stannard as well Wink

SportingNonsense
Stannard got me loads of wins a couple of seasons ago, before the PCT time trial strength improved. Looking forward to seeing him return to winning ways this year!

Jesleyh
Strong leaders indeed!
Don't think they'd top the rankings(considering Rowe's ACC and Tiernan-Locke not being that awesome), but definitely strong Wink

So you were this seasons beneficiary from SN's kindness. Also lucky i did decide to release JTL in the end, it was a very close call.

Thanks guys Grin

Obviously I want to do well Miguel98 and tsmoha in the division but as Jesleyh pointed out, the leaders do have their weaknesses (but they are still some of the best Britain has to offer) so we'll see how it goes Wink

And thanks to the kindness of ManzMissile and SportingNonsense to allow us to have the opportunity of buying these riders Grin

An additional Transfer Update will come later

Transfer Update

Another few hours have past and a new wave of riders have arrived to finalise their deals with the team, all signing for a £50,000 wage.

They are:

Thomas Murray

FlatMtnHillTTStaResRecCobSprintAccFghtDownhlPrl
69526462706870597577616662

Thomas will be a strong lead out for the team and may get his own free role depending on the race and competition, at a £50,000 wage we cant complain!

Alex Meenhorst

FlatMtnHillTTStaResRecCobSprintAccFghtDownhlPrl
70556062706773537672546070

Alex is another strong rider on the flat and will be a valuable team mate, he too could have a free role from time to time, the choices!

And finally...

Clinton Avery

FlatMtnHillTTStaResRecCobSprintAccFghtDownhlPrl
70586864726865707368756364

Of the 3, Clinton is most likely going to stay as a team mate throughout his stay in the team. He is versatile though, being a good team mate on the flat and in the sprints and even on the cobbles, where he'll support Takenouchi to the best of his abilities. He also could be part of many break aways due to his aggressive style of riding as well.

Last Signings Confirmed

And the time has come for Team ASDA-Savers to announce it's last riders to the cycling world.

And they are:

Michael Woods

FlatMtnHillTTStaResRecCobSprintAccFghtDownhlPrl
68737064717268545861546865

Michael will have a free role within the team as a Co-leader of the 'mountain' team. We will be surprised if he achieves anything of note but he will be a decent rider on the hills for Tiernan-Locke.

Adam Semple

FlatMtnHillTTStaResRecCobSprintAccFghtDownhlPrl
65677162676864526873776662

Adam is a strong rider on the hills and will be a good helper for the team. We also like his aggressive racing style and hope he can animate a few races as well.

Shengjun Wu

FlatMtnHillTTStaResRecCobSprintAccFghtDownhlPrl
73606759727267566670756359

The only Chinese member of the team makes the Asian trio a quartet. He will be useful as a helper on the flats but we hope he will get into breaks as well.

Russell Hampton

FlatMtnHillTTStaResRecCobSprintAccFghtDownhlPrl
69525872676867576664746672

He is nothing special but we hope he could snatch the occasional top 10 in the time trials. He will also be a team mate for us and will work hard to justify his place in the team.

Simon Gaywood

FlatMtnHillTTStaResRecCobSprintAccFghtDownhlPrl
70516663696472547471706663

Our last signing is Gaywood, he will be a part of our lead out train for the majority of his stay here, he can be part of the occasional break away if he gets the 'heads up' as well.

We are generally pleased with how our transfer season has gone and you can see our full team below.

Riders to race in Pre-Season Crits

With the season soon to begin and the riders are all training to be in good shape for the season ahead. With this in mind, The team has allowed a few of the riders to travel down under and enjoy some fast and furious racing in the Bay Cycling Classic Criteriums. The full list is below:

Alex Meenhorst
Clinton Avery
Matt Rowe
Adam Semple
Matthew Brammeier

Oddly, none of these riders will race in the same team but will use this to test their legs ahead of a tough season ahead. We wish them the best of luck in their endeavours.

Pre-season Crits over: Review
i65.photobucket.com/albums/h220/ryant15/baycrits14_zps61bc72da.jpg

The team was represented with no less than 5 riders in this year's Bay Cycling Classic Criteriums, they were

Alex Meenhorst
Clinton Avery
Matt Rowe
Adam Semple
Matthew Brammeier

Due to Matt Rowe's consistent sprints (6th, 7th and 7th) he found himself in a creditable 7th place overall in the series. Other riders like Brammeier and Meenhorst were aggressive and Meenhorst found himself in the break of the day in Round 3.

January Preview

With the cycling season just around the corner, here are the first few races that we will race as a cycling team:

New Zealand Cycle Classic
imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img593/2435/8b7m.jpg

Team:
Ian Stannard
Matt Rowe
Matthew Brammeier
Yu Takenouchi
Thomas Murray
Russell Hampton
Clinton Avery
The team will obviously want some good performances from Rowe and Stannard with the latter hopefully kicking off our season with a win. Rowe will hopefully get some decent results like top 5's/10's in stages with help from his leadouts. A top 10 GC is expected as well.

Great Ocean Road Classic
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/great_ocean_road_classic.jpg

Team:
Matt Rowe
Alex Meenhorst
Thomas Murray
Shengjun Wu
Clinton Avery
Simon Gaywood
Chun Hing Chan
Rowe will continue his season in Australia alongside some good lead outs like Murray and Meenhorst. Meenhorst decided that after taking part in the Criteriums in Australia, he would stay in Australia and not race in his home country, so Takenouchi was brought in as a replacement. He will hope to give his leader the best chance of victory in this race though.

Always cool to see some (p)reviews for the Bay Crits Wink Rowe did quite well.

Stannard takes victory in New Zealand!

After 5 days of racing the team have come out with a brilliant first place overall in the General Classification and we got to take home our first yellow jersey.
Stannard took first on the first Time Trial, something the team was hoping for at the start of the race and he managed to keep it all the way to Palmerston despite some hard windy stages and a scare from Meyer (Fletcher - Garneau) but his challenge was dampened by a string of break away wins, not that we would mind!

Stannard on the way to setting the best time in the TT

Rowe however, struggled and did not get one top 10 placing during the tour, but Matthew Brammeir (7th), Clinton Avery (8th) and Thomas Murray (10th) did out do themselves to get some reputable results for the team

Nice to see Brammeier doing well for you. Had a good year for me last year so I hope he continues like that if Rowe underperforms.

I guess a stage-race win is a rare thing for most, so well done on a achieving one at the first attempt. Stannard could be a real asset for you.

ryant
Yes, Brammeier will certainly help us if he can sneak in the top 10 here and there, Rowe hopefully will pick up and prove his ACC isn't going to be a killer for him. Brammeier will follow Rowe around all season, but I do think he might have a chance in the occasional race.

As for Stannard, yes he is a great asset to have, hopefully this will be his first of many results!

Congratulations to the tykes from a Yorkshireman Smile

I am new to the Man Game and thought I would support one of the new teams to see how it works. Hope thats OK.

Great start to the season! Strange to see breakaway wins they don't happen often in my races but good news for Stannard in this race.

Good luck for the rest of the season.
