Disaster, this race isn't rescuable now. Chaoufi miles back on the GC after that crash, any hope of the top ten goal disappearing.
All I can hope for now is for Schinker to do a crazy sprint performance and hold on, very unlikely seeing his result today. |

Next stage will be with you on Wednesday, should be a nice double header with the stoke on Trent jaunt and of course the dual Caerphilly mountain climbs.

Shame about that 1st stage, but good results by Kennaugh afterwards, topping it off with a win.
Will probably be difficult to get rid of Ventoso et al, but Schreurs will hopefully have learned something from Kennaugh and try |

Drujon is actually performing really well. I might have to reconsider my initial thought of selling him if I don't promote. It is great because it is races like this, with tough startlists and a parcour that doesn't really suit my team, that I need to make up points to push me over the line.
Van Keirsbulck inside the top 10 for the moment is great as well.

Drujon dropping out of contention but Feillu moving up to 9th on GC and with a promising top 10. Not to mention Van Keirsbulck holding on to his great GC place and now the youth jersey. This should be interesting to watch in the next stage - a lot is dependent on what happens there.
Thanks for the reports as always smowz.

Thanks for the report Smowz. Only thing to enjoy in this race...
Schreus and Dowsett sucks for their teams. Always shit if this happens.
And why is Cavendish up there in a hilly rated stage!!!!
Bellis at least showed a better sprint due to the hills I guess. Still he should have taken bonus seconds or the win in that stage.
If the 2nd hilly stage isn`t selective and Bellis in best case taking the win, I am fully pissed by that race here. This is one of the most suited races for Bellis normally and eventually I leave that race with less than 10 points and promotion would be over. |

And Gavazzi up to 7th in GC, hanging on like he should on the hardest stage (lucky us for no gaps )
Hopefully he can snag some bonus seconds and salvage some more points from this race.

Mixed feelings about this one. This style of racing isn't particularly interesting but it hasn't impaired Ventoso's chances much. However I had expected to witness a more dramatic narrative being this such a critical race for so many teams in different ways.
Also, having the domestic champion, riding for a domestic team, retire is somewhat a killer. Tough luck for Jaguar. And for Rothaus as well, what a let down.

Don't know what you're complaining about. Two more stages to survive, best case scenario is the GC + points ranking win.

Damn it... Schreurs is in top form for once, but misses out on GC due to a crash. Congrats to Sram, though. |
