He is going to go 2010 Giro stage 11 on them and pull out a 12 minute gap. Calling it now

Looking forward what Pinot can do today, hope he can get close to the stage win.
Horner lost 40 seconds to Pinot and 25 to Nibali during last years Tour. Will be intresting to see that the oldest of the three has improved most over a year

Barguil, Cherel, Geniez, De Greef, Cardoso and Edet are roughly 3 min ahead of the other escapees, with the peloton a further 5 min back.
Cataldo, Popovych and Matthews got dropped and are back in the main field.
EDIT: Astana have closed the gap to 6 min, apparently

Can you refresh my memory on why he isn't here? Because for me he was a definite top 10 if not higher. |

Betancur is 149th place overall almost 2 and half hours behind, and he is a climber and could not stop attacking this year in Giro. Anyone knows what happened to him? |

Spilak realised one week races are much better suited to him than a GT. And rightly so in his case looking at his success this year.

He was sick before the race and is focusing on the worlds (and perhaps some other classics such as Lombardia later).
