Horner is pretty confident heading into the vuelta, wants to win. Anything besides that would not reach expectations...

I think it is implied in a few quotes:
“I only have one ambition when I show up at the bike race,” Horner said. “So I’m planning to go good.”
"In all honesty, I think I can be wearing the jersey after the first mountain stage. If I can hold it after that, we’ll see. Clearly I think I can climb with the best.”
But yeah not as bad as it seems. Still he is just hugely overconfident.

Yep, he says he has a chance to take leader's jersey after first MTF. Especially as there's a TTT, where RSNT is usually very good.
And then see how it goes and says he is capable of staying with the best, as he did at Tirreno.
Seem like reasonable goals to me ( many riders that don't have much chance of even Top 20 at times, says they hope for Top 10 in GC in many interviews etc. ) if you consider if he can indeed get into that Tirreno form by the time of Vuelta.

I can already see what would happen if Horner won the Vuelta. It would even more suspicious than Froome. |

It's mainly American. They always show off this kind of confidence in interviews. If he was Belgian, he'd say that he would have to see on a daily basis if he can aim for the top-20... |

You don't think he is already? Sky aside, he's one of the most obvious dopers in the pro peloton, imo.

Didn't say that he wasn't a doper. |

Bwah. Popovych atleast stopped at one point 5 years ago. Horner continues untill he is 75.

They're both pretty obvious when it comes to doping. Anyone denying that is blind.

Not denying that they are jacked up on PED's... Just saying that Popo is probably the worst when it comes to doping, followed by Horner and the highflyers from Sky...
