Echelons at the Ventoux maybe??
Hope that a group with Mollema and Contador finish a minute or more in front of Froome, but I'm afraid that Froome will destroy all today, and after the finish, does a descend and another climb of the Ventoux and still finish earlier than his GC-opponents....

Meh, that's pretty much just down to the wind.

Contador will be slaughtered by Froome and Froome will 100% win the tour tomrrow.
Froome will do it like Lance did it in 2000

Andy could have a great shot at it if he tries, but he will probably wait till one of the other mountain top finishes.
Andy wont have a chance in .... of doing anything tomorrow.
The stage has 3 names written all over it
Froome as 1, Porte as 2/4 Quintana as 2/3and Contador 3/6 and then Kreuziger as 5/7th |

Would be disappointing if we still have a big peloton by the time they reach the open part of the climb.
The wind could in fact somewhat ruin the fun. If there's strong headwind, it'll be almost impossible to create gaps for any non-mutants.

Big factors tomorrow:
1) Stage length... Its over 200km to get to bloody climb let alone go up it as well.
2) Wind pre-climb... 200km, fair amount of openess, have to do something against mutant man...
3) Heat... Ventoux is the only hot climb i've ever known and if there is little wind people are going to cook
4) Fans... I'm predicting literally hundreds of thousands on the slopes and it only takes one idiot
5) Team Sky... If they are Ax3 or even 2012 level then it will be a very different race
I am so fucking angry i won't be able to watch it live but will be constantly checking CN and news. I cannot wait for it! IT WILL BE AMAZING

Froome is so skinny he doesn't feel the wind. Hence why he lost time yesterday

If Saxo, Belkin, Movistar are going to ride from the beginning, Sky will be broken and Froome will be lonely at the beginning of the climb.
Then we might see Froome not winning. I do hope so, and I hope Mollema is going to be alright. For the stage win: Froome, Contador, Mollema, Quintana or Gesink, De Gendt, Schleck, Pinot, Valverde.
Question is what the top of the GC is going to do.

Yeah, right, probably the cat 4. climbs or the flat parts will be enough to drop all Sky besides Froome.
I agree again, Froome alone with other G.C. guys down the Ventoux stands no chance of winning. I mean strong slopes are definitely when you need your team badly.
Wait... |

Have you seen these guys on the climbs in the last couple of years?
I also agree with Ian regarding Pinot. He's mentally broken.

Im hoping Hesjedal has been losing time on purpose to make a big move in the coming days. Otherwise, he's really weak right now. If he's feeling good, I think he might do something, and I also think we will see something from Costa/Valverde.
Movistar still has a chance at the Team GC, and I think they might try and get it back tomorrow as well. I hope anyway
Froome will probably win this though, unless a break wins.

Wait...
It would be fantastic if Froome showed to be human after all and he wont destroy everyone tomorrow on Mt. Ventoux but unfortunately for the race and us, Froome is Armbot 2.0 with new and improved legs, and he will take his time and not make to obvious but there is no way, he wont get min´s on Contador and Mollema and basicly secure the yellow with 10inch nails.
And it wont matter one point how many Sky he has around him, my guess is that he will at least have Porte and mayby 1-2 more when they reach the climb and Porte will be a engine from the start and untill Froome decides enough is enough and drives away. |

Andy will win this stage by 10 minutes on everyone and will take the yellow jersey.
In reality, I really hope Contador will be strong. If he will be strong, then that probably means that Kreuziger will be 'allowed' to ride for himself. The podium is really, really close now. It would be dream come true for me to see a Czech rider on the final podium in Paris.

He showed in the Pyrénées that he belongs to the ~15 best climbers of this Tour (on his current form).
With the racing days he's gotten since then, I'd say he should be less affected than the others, and the Ventoux ends at quite an altitude and is quite long, so it'll favour natural climbers more than some other mountain pass.
Finishing between the 5th and 10th position seems vaguely possible. Not much better, but ending below 15 would be a disappointment (that's right as long as nobody survives from a long break to finish ahead of him). |

Andy looked really strong on the sunday stage in the Pyrenees. On the last mountain he followed every acceleration by Quintana pretty much right in Froome's wheel.
He's so far down in the GC after the time trial that he could attack on Ventoux and Sky probably wouldn't chase him. Of course if Froome goes full retard again nobody else will have a chance, but if it slows a bit in the group of favorites, Andy is definitely one of the guys who could ride away and win. |

Really looking forward to this stage, not least because I used to have a house near Bedoin, and the last time the race came to the Ventoux in 09, I was there
Hoping for Froomebot to crash and burn but seems unlikely
