Lotto, OPQS, Orica and Argos are all fully commited to bring everything together for a mass sprint. Don't see a break staying away.

I'm for Cav, with Greipel and Kristoff behind him. But actually so far, I'm a bit disappointed with OPQS sprint train. Really what the hell it is?!?!?!
Die hard fan of Tom Boonen and Quickstep since 2004.

Depends who's allowed to go I suppose. There are limits to how fast those teams can do the categorized climbs without dropping their sprinters. The right ppl can make a pretty large gap, and the last part of the stage has a lot of downhill/easy terrain, which makes it easier for the breakaway. |

Those who are expecting Impey to get dropped will be disappointed. It'll take a lot more than a few hills to get rid of him. He's excellent uphill to be a sprinter, after all.
In fact, it would surprise me if any of the main sprinters get dropped. Another Cav. vs. Greipel vs. Sagan vs. Kittel battle for me.

Hoping Goss can do something....Once they lose the yellow jersey, should get much more support. No chance yesterday due to nobody really leading him out.
Think Greipel should be able to get over the climbs well enough to get another win. Dominant performance by Lotto yesterday. |

I like the break for this. Slightly downhill to the end should save energy and could see them say away. Also decent mountain points on offer should see a decent group get away.
+1
13 Vents followed by Mounis should see the sprinters dropped (if it's rode like stage 2)
expecting a bit slower pace though, due to the stage tomorrow
actually while on that topic, how different is the stage tomorrow from the one used in 2010 stage 14? (where Contador and Schleck did trackstands) |

Goss is not missing up there because of bad leadout, but because of terrible form and legs whole year. He does not have it simply.
Look at Kristoff or Sagan, they have no leadouts too. Sagan is alone at 2kms to the line like last year, nothing chnged even when he has 8 guys commited to him this year, they are just hopeless against Lotto or Argos. But bringing him to the other train safely is important too.

Yesterday? Yes, yesterday...
OGE had a Gerrans-Impey-Goss train yesterday, but Goss lost the wheel of Impey and dropped back. He had his team working for him, but did not deliver.
Goss just doesn't seem as strong as he once was. |

Goss just doesn't seem as strong as he once was. “Gossy got caught up in a barricade at 700m,” White continued. “Someone swung up from the Lotto train, and as he dropped back, it impeded Gossy just as Brett [Lancaster] and Daryl accelerated. Gossy lost the train and started chasing, but at that speed and with such a short distance to make gains, he wasn’t able to make contact.”
From the mouth of Matt White.... |

Then Brett and not Gerrans.
But that's exactly it. He lacks the traits of a true sprinter. It should be impossible for anyone to make him lose contact to the wheel of his leadout. He is too temperate - which greatly works against him.

You might think Goss is terrible which is your opinion but please guys, when somebody gets blocked, they get blocked ffs. No sprinter in the world is going to be able to recover from getting blocked with 700 to go, then put it an amazing sprint. Logic please... |

Some attitude.
All I said was that Goss did not deliver and that he is not doing as well as he used to. Baseballlover312 thought that Goss was dropped and I only wrote to explain why Goss was so far behind - not to call him terrible (which I in fact haven't, you apparently interpreted it that way). |
