Nice result for Tzortzakis. I hope he will be my main leadoutman next season, so for him to prove himself as a decent sprinter at this level is pretty nice. Still 2 improvement stages left for him.

Nice seeing my "sprinters" doing some results
Just hope they do the same results when the hills/mountains comes |

Dekker's absence from the big stage races and presence in less contested ones like this could turn out to be a brilliant success for Vueling, if Sochi is anything to judge from. Without Taaramae, I can't see him losing this race.
It's not really a tactical choice. I didn't expect to have Dekker this season, so I avoided the HC mountains (HC selections were made pre-transfers). Same with Kennaugh and flat HC classics, by the way
I'm aware. Nevertheless, it hasn't been such a bad choice so far.
Interesting first two stages. Bibby and Kiryenka have already given themselves a good position for the rest of the race, even though the TTT might change that. Anyway, more seconds could be grabbed by them on stage 4, which I'm almost certain will be a reduced mass sprint finish.

Very nice to see Bibby finally convert high placings into a win. The 20 seconds could come in handy indeed - would be great if the TTT could put him back in Yellow

I can see why you are hoping for it and it is what i fear the most.
Because we have seen what yellow bonus can do and if Hoffman is able to win hilly race with it, why Bibby cant hold on to it during the mountanious race, even more when he is one of the best puinchers for stages 4 and 6 already, very good selection for jim to this race.
Bibby or Kiryenka will be probably in leaders jersey after TTT, i hope for Belarusian, as he is somewhat "weaker" climber. And i hope for podium spot in TTT for us, 3rd is achieveable.
Nice reports Spilak, Vitoria just does not want to sprint. He is still dreaming about Italy crits it seems.

Starting order from riders in their team was very important. First rider did first 4 km, second next 4 and the third the last 2 km.
Jaguar was very lucky as they had Tennant, Stannard and Bibby in that order.
Vueling had Dekker as first so their good intermediate. Oz on the other hand had Ford as third so they did a strong second part.

Didn't lose to much time, will be interesting to see how Abal fairs against Bibby on stage 4. And then hopefully he rides away with Dekker on stage 5 to secure a podium.

Congrats, SN. Went pretty well obviously.
A bit concerned about Peraud being dropped for additional seconds. Two wrong guys got dropped with Visconti and him. Don't know where we end up now, at least we score some points. Now hoping for either W. Ford or Visconti to attack in the hilly stages, plus Peraud keeping in touch with the GC-contenders.
Don't know why, but i somehow have a feeling of bad momentum for Oz atm. Can't help myself

And the fight is on.
Great TT from Jaguar, congrats SN. In such a small TTT it's always going to come down to luck on the team line-up, but they had a very solid squad. Though I had Oz as my favourites for today.
Glad we did so well too. Plaza seems to be in good shape for this one unlike in Vancouver. I am optimistic about a top5 now.
Great report as well Spilak, it kept me on the edge of my seat till the end. Just a minor remark: I think you're supposed to say "rider X is slower than rider Y" instead of "rider X is slower as rider Y" if I'm not mistaken. Anyway can't wait for the next 3 stages.

6th place in TTT is slightly worse than expected but places 2-7 were divided by just 5 seconds, so a bit of a bad luck played against us too.
Congrats to Jaguar for overwhelming win, the worst scenario is on and Bibby leads our Popovych by 38 seconds, it will be hard with this edition, hopefully Dekker,Abal and Popovych especially will give him a hard time in a mountain stage.

Good try and decent result for Visconti! Also Peraud did not too bad, even though he lost some more time here. William Ford a bit disappointing though..
Now hoping for Peraud to finish within Top-15 in the mountains. Hopefully he won't get "auto-bussed". Same goes for Visconti of course, but I don't think he can hold on to his nice GC-position.

Superbly ridden by Keizer, I was really afraid of time losses on this stage

Typical PCM, really he should have been given a gap. He was around 30" behind the last from the group in front of him and crossed the line 1'08 after Hoogerland.

I can't even do that correct in Dutch. Will try to do it right from now on!

Perfect, just how I needed the hilly stage to play out. Would have been nice if Bibby lost yellow going into stage 5 but it just wasn't meant to be. Also now that Popo is further back I can see 2nd place overall being the target. Go Go Abal!
