Horrible stuff for me. I forgot if the goal was to make less points or a lot of points. Turns out I was wrong. |

Learned the leasson: do not name the teams who are actually leading isolated the overall NBA. The three of them got one vote each. Instead, name the team who isn't even on a .45 percentage campaign
I doubt anybody would be interested in knowing why Sport was sort of a joke, but anyway, they call themselves national champions for this.
And cunego, Tampa Bay Lightning? Aren't you watching a bit too much ice hockey?

Whoops, Lightning, how could I? Changed it Oh, and I looked into the history of Sport a bit and I get it now. Quite interesting.

I'm glad that many more members have joined, and I can only encourage anyone who hasn't joined yet: This round, much more points are up for grabs.

As I'll be at the theatre tonight, I won't be able to do the evaluation of round 2 this evening. Hence, the deadline is extended to sometime tomorrow morning. This is the last call to the few participants of round 1 who haven't sent their answers yet, and of course a last invitation for new contenders to join in!

Round 2: Animals - Evaluation
I have to say that it may not have been the best questions. Evidently, most answers seemed obvious, as every question had one big points supplier. But see yourselves:
Question 1: Name a particularly big animal.
I expected a closer outcome, but in the end, the Elephant (24) was way above the Whale (10). Only two other animals were named as well:
Spoiler 2x Giraffe
1x Bear
Question 2: Name an animal many people are affraid of - except for spiders!
A bit more diverse answers here, but again one prevalent: Snakes with 20 mentions. No other animal came even close.
Spoiler 4x Mouse
3x Tiger
2x Lion
2x Cockroach
2x Rat
1x Dog
1x Bear
Question 3: Name an animal that is typically characterized as cute.
Even more diverse, but again, with 17 namings, cut above the rest: the Cat! Rabbits and Kitten with 5 each followed.
Spoiler 3x Panda
2x Puppies
2x Dogs
1x Sloth
1x Teddy Bear
1x Guinea Pig
Question 4: Name a domesticated animal.
I really hoped for a bigger variation of answers here, especially with all the farm animals, but maybe I posed the question wrong. Anyway, Top answer: Dog, with sensational 24 points. Cat and Cow with 5 votes each.
Spoiler 1x Horse
1x Sheep
1x Pig
Question 5: Name an animal that is often used as a symbol / icon / emblem.
Question five turned out to be the most balanced one with three answers with more than five mentions. The Lion prevails (15), the Eagle follows (7) and the Panda - probably most of you thought of the WWF here - gets six votes.
Spoiler 2x Dove
1x Horse
1x Bear
1x Cats
1x Hornet
1x Tiger
1x Dragon
1x Shark
For the first time ever, I think, a round finished with two participants with 100 points! Congrats to usto and debutant sieve to the victory, both with a perfect round:
1 | usto | 100 | | sieve | 100 | 3 | Bikex | 92 | 4 | jesleyh | 91 | | fcancellara | 91 | | mvhoogdalem | 91 | 7 | Eden95 | 88 | 8 | SweatyViking | 86 | | lakris | 86 | 10 | Miguel98 | 83 |
With those lots of points been given in this round, it has a strong effect on the overall. Former leader Teddy The Creator, missed this round and falls back to fifth-to-last. His place is taken by two competitors: jesley had a fantastic round, but SweatyViking had a five-points advance from last round, so they share the leadership. Bikex is just one point behind, though, and it is all quite close, especially in the Top 8:
1 | jesleyh | 133 | | SweatyViking | 133 | 3 | Bikex | 132 | 4 | usto | 128 | 5 | Eden95 | 126 | 6 | ikaros33 | 123 | | dienblad | 123 | 8 | FroomeDog99 | 119 | 9 | baseballlover312 | 106 | 10 | TheManxMissile | 105 |
Moving on:
I'm with stupid 2013 - cunego59's Round 3
Literature
Let's make it quick this time:
1. Name a famous author.
2. Name a famous dead poet.
3. Name a book that has been made into a film.
4. Name a genre of literature.
5. Name a famous children's book / story.
Deadline is tomorrow, 01.02., 18:00 CET. Might be extended again, but don't count on it.

Wow, didn't expect this result
Should've said something else than Panda though...
Oh no. Not literature. That's really, really bad for me, since I only read a few(beginner-like) English books...

91 points, pretty good
Round 3 will be hard, since it is less obvious what others will answer. Also, I don't know any famous dead poets |
