I'd take 20th any day of the week! Renewing Caruso was obviously a huge mistake...

I just hope that all the teams who went for glamorous puncheur/climbing types will face such stiff competition that they drop a lot of points. The fields I have chosen are less competitive, although I lack the top riders in those fields. All in all it will be an exciting season where I hope I can top the 3 wins from last season.

Love the layouts of your previews!
As for my team Oz, well, at least I know, that we did better than last year in the transfers. But I agree, I still expect us to battle for relegation, especially as I might have made one or two mistakes in season-planning this time But we will see, it's a tough year in PCT. Would be great to stay in the division and back Bobridge back on board then.

It's going to be very close, but hopefully I'll be able to win a little more than last season
One minor mistake - I never had Schädlich, so I don't count his absence as a major blow... |

This was an amazing read Roturn. Exceptionally good review
As for my team, I guess you have mentioned everything. Lo Cicero and Nooytens will be a bit alone, but on the other hand, we are hoping for a lot of breakaways for Pranata and Sai-Udomsin amongst others, and we are confident that they will bring us a lot of points. Enough to stay up? Most likely not. Will I be the lowest point scoring team? Probably, but It's better to be predicted last and then doing a good season, instead of going the other way around.

The PCT seems more competetive than ever, I think how Roturn places me is a good proof, strenghtened in everything but Time Trials and last season most guessed I would promote, this season? 9th
I like the preview, largely the same view as me, though for some reason I beleive ING will win the division, I really like their team. Alot of pressure on Roche though, as he is the wildcard on the team
When it comes to myself I'm afraid you are right, I need luck to beat the teams above me, even though it is not impossible. I will be in quite a dilemma next season if I don't promote. Lots of riders I will "have" to loan out and with the new loaning rules I will not be able to get a lot in return (unless I pay the wages, but then I weaken myself by having alot of dead wage). Pretty much all the riders you listed as talents :-p (Except for the loaned out Taubel, and Bru... The only level 1 riders I got this season)

It's a great read. I feel sorry for you guys having to pick my team's position. Even I have no idea! Basically I figured out a way to build on my points from last season but I just don't know if it will work really well or just ok.

Nice job, shows how difficult it's for weaker teams like mine. Although i think (well, hope ) Gerdemann can score more points than predict.

Nice job with the preview. Very detailed.
Hope you're wrong about Vespa though and the rankings. |

Great preview. Nice to read, although I think Stetina and our climbing depth was a bit under-rated as well as the depth of our team of decent sprinters, who can hopefully grab decent results in most flat races. Not wins, but still placing fairly well.
I dont know if anyone really knows where they will finish. Other than a few teams, its going to be wide open, and the race planning will play a very significant factor in it all, imo. I could see my team relegating, I could see them barely avoiding relegation, or I could see my team finish solidly near the middle of the pack.

Good write Roturn! Predicting the outcome of the very close PCT seems to be much harder as in PT or CT as I would have placed some teams on a different place. I expect teams like Jaguar and HTC a bit lower while Vespa, Prio and especially AirBaltic to finish a bit higher. I expect Cavendish, Vaitkus, Docker and Rowe to dominate the sprints with Puma and Pokerstar in the PT.

Hey, our train is twice theirs
I expect us to relegate, so 16th is nice. Great preview |

Docker and Sonnery are fairly similar but Docker is probably a bit faster while Vaitkus is way better as Manarelli but might be hampered by his lower amount of racedays. But those two trains should be a great battle!

It was a great read, great job roturn! I'd be incredibly happy with that 23rd place, but I feel we'll need a very big amount of luck to avoid relegation. Can't wait for the start.

But then I have 76,75,75,74,74,73,71 and just need to be reasonably near the front - who needs rouleurs |

Very interesting read mate. I think you've underestimated Cornu a bit (3/5 for the TT category? I only face the short TTT in Faso this year) and also Gautier (he should be targetting top 5s in most hilly classics) but for the most part you've identified everything I've been thinking about my squad. 7th would be a bit disappointing for me, but I could see it happening because as everyone else has already said - this is one hell of a division.
EDIT: Oh and I don't face a single mountain all season so De Greef being my best climber doesn't matter. I'm mostly keeping him around because I could see him being useful as a domestique in the PT on a minimum wage.

Your 3/5 in timetrials is already ~6.-10. of the whole PCT. Cornu alone might be stronger than 2-3 teams with 3,5 or 4. But the depth is also important and that`s why you only got a 3 there.
Other teams with Zabriskie/Van Winden or 3x77+ got a +0,5-1 for their depth. The problem was that I started probably too low and so I wasn`t able to go up to 5 in that disciplin.
But I think Cornu will collect lots of points. |

Finally got the time to read this. It's very well written globally and focus some very interesting points imo.
I agree with that this season is probably the most difficult to predict in PCT. There are more and better riders than before, and there's also another layer of race planning with the possibility of riding C2 races.
I believe the teams who've underestimated the weight of hilly races in this division may suffer a lot. I can see 79-80 MO riders being left out of top10s in some stage races which says a lot.
Overall I agree with your vision. I think your top10 incorporates all the candidates for promotion and its alignment will only depend on race planning and pure luck.
As to my team I agree with most of what you say, especially when you compare Avelino with '12 Vantomme (which, I have to say, frightens me ).
