2013 goals revealed
Last year, we took a gamble with our goals and it didn't really pay off in the end as we missed four of our five goals. So this year we are going for a safer approach and also for new races as none of last year's goals are found on the new list. Anyway, the goals are as it follows:
Win, Tour de Romandie
Robert Gesink the Tour de Romandie in 2011 and the route for this year's race really suits him as it combines all of his main qualities: time - trialing and climb on both mountains and hills.
Top 3, Deutschland Tour
The Tour of Germany makes it's comeback to the Pro Tour calendar and the route seems to be on Gesink's liking. Time - trials, mountains and hills are mean that Robert is at least a top 3 favorite.
Top 3, Vuelta al Pais Vasco
Gesink won the Tour of the Basque Country in 2012 and he will be back to defend his crown in 2013. Still, if the competition will prove to be better than last year's, a top 3 will be good as well.
Top 10, Giro d'Italia
For the first time in it's existence the team will focus on the Giro d'Italia. A top 10 is going to be a goal for whoever will prove to be the replacement rider for Ruben Plaza as our GT leader.
Top 10, Team Standings
Ninth in 2011, ninth in 2012 means that a top 10 in 2013 shouldn't be too hard to achieve. At least on paper, because we can't underestimate none of the other 19 teams.

If Gesink can stay on his bike this year, then I can see you battle for the top 3 this year Alex!

I don't think that will be enough. I also need a good transfers season and a bit of luck. But thanks for the kind words.

Budgets fixed for next year
With the salary cap fixed at 3.5 millions and the entire budget somewhere around 5 millions it was time to decided the wages for our current riders as well.
The first ones to leave the negotiations table were Haimar Zubeldia and Xavier Florencio, who didn't receive an offer for 2013 and are leaving the team after only one season.
The big news came from Robert Gesink, who was quick to sign a new contract for next year. "I signed with the team in 2011 and had 2 great seasons with what seems to be the best Dutch team in the pack at the moment. Last year I had some very good results in stage - races, but missed something in the classics. I'm looking to change that in 2013" Robert said.
Joost Posthuma was very pleased to sign a new contract as well. "At the end of last season, Joost was considering leaving the team to search for more victories in the Continental Tour, but after winning both of the Dutch National Championships, it was clear for us that we can't let him go and we are very happy to have him with us for another year", the manager told the press.
Ruben Plaza and Dominique Cornu were both offered new contracts and both accepted them, but at this point there's 99% chances they won't ride with Project 1t4i in 2013. Both have very good wages for what they can do and are set be two of the most wanted riders in the transfers window.
Koen de Kort, Wout Poels, Sebastien Rosseler, Michel Kreder and Sylvain Chavanel left the room with big smiles on their faces after signing very good contracts for them, but the bad news for them is that their relationship with the board was affected by their big demands and their future with the team isn't decided at this point.
All other riders received contracts according to their abilities and performances from last season. Most of them will be staying, but some will be available for a transfer pretty soon.

It seems you have peaked AMEXps's interest again with Dutch sprinter Michel Kreder. We need to seriously talk when the transfer season opens. Donald and Kreder could quickly give AMEXpc a solid nuculeus for a competative PCT team.
I will make sure that my people contact your people. |

Both Donald and Kreder are very likely to leave the team during the transfers season. If your people play their cards well, both of them could become AMEX riders in 2013.

Don´t like that it seems like Kreder demand higher wage
And I don´t like that there are so many teams interested in him |

Don't worry it's not a big increase. I was just a bit surprised he asked for more than what he was receiving last year.
I wasn't expecting so many teams to be interested in in him, but I guess that's a good thing for me

After already enquiring about Sylvain Chavanel, Evian - MIAT are wondering about the future of Benoit Vaugrenard. What do you have to say about his future? |

Benoit Vaugrenard is one of the manager's favorite riders and re-signed for a very good wage. It doesn't look like he will leave the team any time soon.

Transfers are getting close
21 riders are going to enter the transfer season as Project 1t4i riders, but not all of them are going to spend the actual season with the team. The management feels that it's time to make official the names that will be looking for a new home in 2013.
Dominique Cornu
The Belgian rider joined the team in 2010 and led the team to a great debut season by finishing 2nd in the Continental Tour Rankings. He had good results at the Pro Tour level as well with stage wins in Giro and Vuelta, but it looks like now it's time for him to go back the Continental Tour and those short stage - races he loves most.
Ruben Plaza
Ruben Plaza isn't exactly a superstar, but he is the hardworking man every team needs. And for the past two seasons he has done a wonderful job leading the team at the Vuelta a Espana and other short stage - races. His highlights under the team's colors include a win on Alpe d'Hues in Dauphine and a fourth place in La Vuelta '11.
Sylvain Chavanel
Even though he spent only one season with the team, Chavanel's presence was strongly felt by his two major wins from 2012: La Fleche Wallone and a stage at the Tour de France. But those results made him ask for more money than we can pay him so he is now free to search for a new team.
Dennis Van Winden
Dennis Van Winden wasn't an easy rider to sign last season, but he proved to be a valuable signing as he helped the team in the 5 team time - trials throughout the season. But with the time - trial focus gone, it's now time for him to search for a new home as well.
Mauricio Ardila
Even though his glory years are gone, Mauricio Ardila can still ride at a top level and that was best show by his two 12th places in Grand Tours in 2012. One of the them came in the Giro and one in the Tour. Hopefully he will be able to find a good team for 2013.
Michel Kreder
The Dutch rider is a very talented and fast sprinter but the Pro Tour seems to be a bit too much for him, which is best shown by the fact that he only got one win in the last two years - a stage win in Vuelta a Colombia. The Continental Tour would be definitely a better fit for Michel.
Jason Donald
A that has served the team very well as a domestique is Jason Donald. But Jason had made no secret of his desire to leave the team and search for glory on home soil, which means that 2012 was his last season with the team.
Klaas Sys
After the renewals it was clear that one of our cobblers will have to leave. The team seems to have more faith in Rosseler's abilities and experience so it looks like it's going to be Klaas Sys who will have to say good bye.

Michel Kreder may be a good solution for Adira-Isq if our main targets follow other paths .. But only if the price is not inflated

I'm not sure what will be his price, but you are already the fourth team to express interest in signing him.

Wow, I didn't think so many teams would be interested in him. I thought Cornu and Plaza were going to bring the most interest, but I guess I was wrong

If he wants to stay in the Netherlands Team UPC might have a spot for him.
Where's the back of the line?

I don't think he is a nationalist. He'll just got to the team that can pay the most for him.
