@housoe: Iban Mayo was an idea of @Ybodonk, but he's retired and will not come back in my story. Thanks!
@Pellizotti2: Thanks!
I will continue with patch 1.2.0.0 until PCM takes out the Expansion Pack for 1.3.0.0
I hope the savegame could work with the new patch and pack.
January action is coming...
Can't wait |

Santos Tour Down Under - Race Preview
Santos Tour Down Under (UWT)
17/01/2012 - 22/01/2012
17/01/2012
Stage 1
Prospect - Claire : 149.4 kms
Better for sprinters although we should be aware of what that small hill few kilometers to the finish line could do.
18/01/2012
Stage 2
Lobethal - Stirling : 144.9 kms
Shorter stage than first one, but that final circuit in Stirling is going to make things tougher.
19/01/2012
Stage 3
Unley - Victor Harbor : 134.5 kms
Bet sprinters at stage 3. Not much to say about it.
20/01/2012
Stage 4
Norwood - Tanunda : 130.0 kms
Although the category one near the end, the stage is very short and I assume that the sprinters will be competing for the win again.
21/01/2012
Stage 5
Snapper Point - Old Willunga Hill : 152.0 kms
The "queen" stage of the race. The Old Willunga Hill will determine probably the overall winner.
22/01/2012
Stage 6
Adelaide - Adelaide : 90.4 kms
A small ride into Adelaide's street. Sprinters will compete for the win.
Santos Tour Down Under - Team Goals
We will try to win a stage with Ruben Perez and Ion Izagirre, but we know they don't come with the best form, as we are not going to use training camps.
Startlist

I couldn't find the button to export the startlist to an xls file. Do you know if there's another option? |

@Spilak23: Thank you! Let's see if we get a good result in Australia.
@sutty68: Thank you!
I repeat my question. I couldn't find the "Export startlist" button in the game. Is it gone or am I doing something wrong?
Stage 1 report is coming...

Santos Tour Down Under - Stage 1 Report
17/01/2012
Stage 1
Prospect - Claire : 149.4 kms
After several attempts, we could not put a man on the break of the day. It seemed that the peloton didn't want us in there. A group of four riders could take up to 6 minutes when the pack decided to bring them back with 70 kms to go.
Dominique Rollin (CAN/FDJ), Barry Markus (NED/VCD), Assan Bazayev (KAZ/AST) and Adam Hansen (AUS/LOT) formed the break of the day. Here we saw an intermediate sprint taken by Rollin.
The pack caught them at the final hill, and although we try to set Ruben Perez in a good place for the sprint, he was passed by better sprinters at the finish.
Liquigas did a great job to place their leader, Elia Viviani, but he didn't have the legs today. Even his launchman, Sabatini, was better than him finishing at 4th position. But the quickest came from another team, but not from another country. Giacomo Nizzolo (ITA/RSN) took the victory ahead of Theo Bos (NED/RAB) and Angel Vicioso (ESP/KAT).
Giacomo Nizzolo (ITA/RSN) was the fastest man of the group, taking the first stage and leader's jersey at the Santos Tour Down Under. Theo Bos (NED/RAB) and Angel Vicioso (ESP/KAT) complete the podium.

When you're riding with a team like Euskaltel I'd put a rider into the break on every single stage |

Amazing layout! Hope this story goes for a long time, ricotero! You really know how to make excellent presentations.
Btw, just pointing out that Dominique Rollin is Canadian and Kris Boeckmans Belgian |

The presentation is really great, it must take a lot of time, hopefully it will not be too much time consuming.
Not the best start racing- wise but that will change.

@valverde321: Thanks! I know we are not in great form, and the game makes you note that.
@jseadog1: Thanks!
@Pellizotti2: Thank you very much!
@SweatyViking: We tried, twice, with Velazco and Cabedo. But the bunch just didn't want an Euskaltel rider in the BOTD.
@Spilak23: I hope that too! Also we will try the stage win with Izagirre. Thanks!
@sutty68: Thanks!
@FreitasPCM: Thank you for reading the details! I will correct that now!
@Avin Wargunnson: It takes a bit of time, but I cannot play too much, so my write speed will not interfere my motivation. Thanks!
@whitevestblueshorts: Thank you!
@andy222c: Thanks!
It's great to see that everyone is liking the story. I hope I could play the second stage today after work and upload everything, results, screenshots and other stuff so tomorrow I've everything ready to write the report. |

Santos Tour Down Under - Stage 2 Report
18/01/2012
Stage 2
Lobethal - Stirling : 144.9 kms
Just at the beginning of the stage, Adrian Saez de Arregi (ESP/EUS) launched an attack. He was followed by three more riders: David Tanner (AUS/STB), Jens Keukeleire (BEL/OGE) and U25 jersey holder Arnaud Demare (FRA/FDJ). They quickly took an advantage of 6 minutes, but with 100kms to the finish the main group started the chase.
David Tanner (AUS/STB), Arnaud Demare (FRA/FDJ), Jens Keukeleire (BEL/OGE) and Adrian Saez de Arregi (ESP/EUS) trying to win the category 2 climb of the day. Luckily for us, Adrian took the first place.
The work of Radioshack - Nissan reduced the gap and with less than 30kms to the finish, it was less than 3 minutes.
With 28kms to go and 2 minutes between the BOTD and the main bunch, three strong riders launched an attack. Leonardo Bertagnolli (ITA/LAM), George Hincapie (USA/BMC) and Christian Knees (GER/SKY) tried to bridge the breakaway.
Helped by the Omega Pharma - Quickstep guys, Radioshack could put the strong men back, meanwhile for us Ruben Perez was not feeling good. We needed to play our second card. With less than 10kms to the finish line, Ion Izagirre (ESP/EUS) attacked. He was head of the race but was caught with 3kms to go.
Ion Izagirre (ESP/EUS) attacking before the last ramp with less than 5kms to the finish.
Omega Pharma guys were really strong and delivered Zdenek Stybar (CZE/OPQ) to the victory. Great sprint for the czech, followed by Grega Bole (SVN/LAM) and Christophe Riblon (FRA/ALM).
We could only reach the 16th place with Ion Izagirre. Ruben Perez didn't have the legs and lost ground to the peloton before the last circuit.
Zdenek Stybar (CZE/OPQ) raises his hands after winning the second stage of the Santos Tour Down Under. Giacomo Nizzolo (ITA/RSN) still leads the general classification.
