so do i just add it to the stages folder? i dont need to do anything with an editor?
also i'm working on stage 3
but the final climb is only 1-1.5km long
if nobody objects i'm going to lengthen it to 3-4km so it becomes a proper summit finish (probably only 3km long)

Name the .cds and .zcts files like I explained in my previous post and place them in CM_Stages. That's all you need to do.

ARRGGGHHH
just getting frustrated with the editor
regardless of what i do i always have either;
road overlap, which wont go away even if i redo the entire road network
or
invalid slope, which wont go away even if i redo the entire road network
so there is now a change to stage 3, it looses realism in terms of road, but it means i can chuck some more climbs in to make it truly hilly finish

Neither of those have got to do with redoing the entire road network. Road overlap usually happens when a turn is too tight, or two road points are too close, just move the road point until it's fine. And invalid slope, just change the slope like it's done when correcting any other slope.

i spent litteraly 45mins moving road points and changing slopes, before redoing the roads from sctratch, got angry and rage quit
just means a the finish is a few circuits around a hill outside kendal

If you have a lot of errors, you're probably using too much road points. Try calculating [nÂș road points]/kms they represent. If it's higher than 2,5, it's already quite high. If it's more than 3, it's really high.

With 4/8 stages of the ToB variant done i would love to finish off.
but i am taking a hiatus there to work on the 1968 project.
however it does mean there'll be the potential for a new giro variant...

Update on the Tour of Britain Variant
Stages 1,2,3,4 are done!
Stage 1
A criterium based around Belfast. Its a tough route, with over 1500m of climbing in a 75kmish route.
Stage 2
A short dash between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The sprint comes after several laps of Glasgow city center. Its a shortish stage at around 130km.
Stage 3
This is a tough day. Starting near the coast in Preston before wandering up to Kendal on the edge of the Lake District. It finishes with several laps over a hill on the edge of Kendal. The finish is at the summit of that hill, it is going to to be hard. The final hill is 17%avg for 1.8km!
Stage 4
A rolling day through the Pennines. Starting in Leeds it bumps its way down to a fast, slightly downhill finish in Derby. Still tough with over 2000m.
Stages 5,6,7,8 will be done by the end of next week
Stages are not 100% graphically accurate as i can be bothered to put in every house. Mostly correct, and enough other stuff to keep them interesting to look at. All play well.

I'm onto the final stage!
Only issue is that stages 4,6 and 7 have no graphics as every time i try to add something my editor crashes...
This means i wont upload it for a few weeks yet, but i will do a test play to show what the results will be like.
Next project;
With the introduction of new UK based teams i have an excuse now for doing the Halfords Tour Series!
https://www.tourseries.co.uk/
An 11 race series of criterium races round city/town centers.
While most routes are simple the nature of the them makes for some interesting races. I will try to recreate them as best as possible (including narrow roads, so you've been warned). Best implemented in game as 11 one day races rather than an 11stage tour.

The game only accepts circuits bigger than 6 km, so not possible to do the Halford Tour Series However races from the Premier Calendar are certainly welcome

Finished ToB (mostly)
No graphics on stages 4,6,7,8 so i wont upload it to stage database
I will send it to anyone that wants to check it out separately if you PM me
My next idea was to do the 2000 Olympic routes, but they are not covered by the .dem files
My biggest wish for PCM2013 is to have .dem files for ALL of North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and most of South America, China, Japan, South Africa and Qatar and Oman
So i am moving on to the UK Premier Calendar. If anyone knows these races well can you PM with any information about the roads (cobbles etc) and any major local features.
I will do a run through of my ToB variant to see what the results are like. I will play as Endura to keep things interesting. I'll post the results here along with a proper view of the stage profile and sprint points

Hey, I have been on the Hardknott pass It is bloody steep. Some people say it goes up to 30%. That wouldn't provide good gameplay though. It looks good!
