I was planning on buying the 2012 version to continue the story I'm writting, but as long as startlists don't work it's not going to happen...

Cyanide are money-merchants, but unlike EA and co, they can't actually create products that are worth the money. |

Well, that's a surprise. Something of a deal-breaker for me too. Career mode and especially GT's without custom start lists is an essential feature where one wants to use custom/historic DB's with other modifications/graphics.
Feels like a bait and switch, ultimately, having already bought 2012 (and rather liking it). Oh well, back to 2011 I guess, and no more early purchases.
It was eleven more than necessary.

I defended Cyanide since the launch of the game, but that's too much... I just don't understand why they act like this. On their official forum there's a place where the players list all the bugs. (no startlist, no u-23 races, etc).
The administrators (who works for Cyanide) say that they are working on a patch to fix those bugs. 6 days later a patch comes out and none of these bugs are fixed... Only 3 minor Armada bugs are fixed -_-
After defending them, i must admit that they're laughing at us.... |

They fix Armada problems because it is what brings extra money.
It's like year after year we see the same problems.
after tdf boom, they probably start to see whats wrong with the game...
remember... they go for holidays after the release!!! (i work at software... and NOONE goes on holiday after a release... because is the time we all have to be careful of bugs) |

Luu,
I think I meant startlists in grand tours. I might also have meant I need more coffee.

I bought '12 in pre-order for the first time with a PCM game. The others I always bought after a while, waiting for the reactions etc. Stupid move, won't happen again with '13...

One thing is to break a feature of the game. Another one is to deny to fix it with the reasoning that there's not time to add features.
Hopefully it will be back anyhow... |

Quite - well put. Do you think there's any chance this might be do-able by the community? It seems likely the 'default' startlists must exist within a table somewhere, no?

What do you mean "default" startlists? (second time I ask 'what do you mean' in the same page of this thread )

I have thought about this. What about creating a custom db with only those riders that participate in the race by deleting everything else in the DYN_Cyclist? |

Apparently Camacho tried that, but then the AI teams wouldn't send full rosters.

Communities can't make the game recognize startlists - that's a game issue.
As with Luigi, I don't know what you mean by "default startlists". Do you mean the riders who are automatically picked when not playing with a startlist? That's another game thing, I suppose. Obviously, it can be tweaked to some extent, but impossible to get it 100 % right. |

Just out of interest what are the startlists like? I mean when you go to do the TDF for example, do teams select realistic starting lineups? Because as long as they do that then thats something. It's not ideal, but it's not gonna kill the game at least. |

Start lists: A start list defines who is going to participate in the race when playing in Tour mode. It is not related to the career and therefore is a "game killer" for somebody who only bought the game to play in Tour mode. |
