I will use an entirely separate points system from the game, there will be no difference in WT and Continental, the value of each race can be found in the list below this post.
For each race the top 10 will get points for themselves, their team, and their country. The points a race is worth will get divided between the top 10.
1st: 20%
2nd: 17%
3rd: 14%
4th: 10%
5th: 9%
6th: 8%
7th: 7%
8th: 6%
9th: 5%
10th: 4%
(Yes fractions of points will be counted)
Finishers in the other categories of stage races will also be awarded points.
1st: 10%
2nd: 8%
3rd: 6%
4th: 4%
5th: 2%
Lastly a stage win will also count for 5% of the total points as well.
So For example: From my simulated TdF v2.
Tour de France - 100 points
Post stage 21 report: Somewhere - Paris.

Hi, i'd like to have a go.
My team will be from New Zealand, have major sponsors of Avanti and Bike NZ and will therefore be titled
Avanti - Bike NZ Professional Cycling Team
or
Avanti - Bike NZ
This sounds really cool. I hope it works out well.
Cheers |

Do we send the drafts now?
..And also so teams aren't over-powered, is there a price for each rider, like a good GC rider like Nibali = $80,000 a good domestique, maybe O'Grady or Voigt = $40,000 or something? Or doesn't it matter?
Edit: And also, just an idea, you could start up another thread just for general discussion, transfers etc?

Yea, I will start up another thread once we get past the draft. Teams won't be overpower simple because the competition will be just as strong. And once we get to the 3rd round I will draft for several continental teams (since it doesn't look like we are going to have that many players) and that will use up many more selections.
And yes everyone can send me their first round choices of riders now, and as soon as we get to the point of starting the draft we I can make that happen.

Great
And just in case, will every race be simulated, or will you do some important races in 3D? |

Okay so I need to keep things moving (or else it falls apart) so I have started the draft, people can still join in! I have randomized the order so no one had an unfair advantage, and the 4 open slots were also randomized in.
Here is the order, and the 1st round picks!
Team, (Nation), User | | UBS-Rolex, (Switzerland), franki28 | | Ferrari-BA Cycling (Italy), Wiley | | VI - SigaarSnor (Netherlands), Vien | | ANZ-Giant Cycling team (Austrailia), Eden95 | | Open Team A | | Team Holden - Westpac (Austrailia), Zoom123 | | Team UK Youth (Great Britain), sutty68 | | Rockstar Toronto Cycling (Canada), Teddy The Creator | | Swalec-UNICEF (Great Britain), baggieboys32 | | Avanti - Bike NZ (New Zealand), Pinktay3 | | Open Team B | | Team CSC (Denmark), fernando97 | | Google Cycling Team (USA), Miguel98 | | Open Team C | | BMW-Allianz (Germany), jaxika | | Colombia Coldeportes (Colombia), canojuancho | | Blusens-Avintia (Spain), FreitasPCM | | Open Team D | |
(For the open teams, the order is randomized, so joining doesn't mean that will will get the next open slot, it could be any of the 4.)

I currently don't plan on doing any of the races in 3d, for several reasons: A: It is incredibly time consuming and this is supposed to move fast. B: Don't want to deal with all sorts of different jerseys and implementing them into the game (though by all means have a jersey for your team and your own page). C: It can frequently have unrealistic results and I feel simulating does a better job with accuracy. D: This is really all about speed....I want to get through a season in right around a month.

Yes, try running La Flèche Wallonne ... bet none of the favorites ever win in 3d mode. (That is one that I have noticed the most)

Also, I need to know if anyone else is having problems downloading the Rider List? It's not critical now because most of you have the 2012 DB and can view all the riders fine like that, but after season one the list will change and I need to make sure everyone can get it.

I downloaded it, but I can't sort it on level, which might get a bit annoying. However I'm not so good with Excel so I may have missed a button |

Would detailled simulation be a better choice? I don't use it but maybe it's good. I'm not a fan of quick sim because for example, in MSR it always finish in a massive sprint with 170 riders in the peloton :s |

Okay, I have a concern with how some people are sending in draft choices. These choices are for this one round only. This should be the single best rider on your team and you all have the top teams. The first round list should be easy, if you have a rider under an 80 overall rating on the list I would reconsider.
I don't need a list of riders you want over the next 10 rounds. I need to know which rider you want this round. I've seen multiple lists with riders ranked in the low 70s overall, you will be able to get these riders later, worry about getting a superstar that can win the TdF or a top sprinter, or an elite for the Ardennes or Cobbles. You don't need to worry about getting "teammate" riders in the 1st round.
