Darn it, thought we had it in the bag but congratulations to levi.
Good to see "two" pirelli riders doing well in the break, especially Puccio a lad I've have high hopes for the future.

Aaah...a HC race the pack doesn't measure the gap properly for on Stage 1. Sprinters and GC guys should be keeping that close.
Annoyed Vespa lost out on getting into the break because top sprinter Oscar Gatto is here. |

Wow I thought LLS could be an absolute favourite but there's a really strong startlist which means things will be very very interesting again. Unless obviously the breakaways continue to succeed indiscriminately as in other races, that would really be a waste for such a beautiful line up.
Anyway I hope the MTT can bring some useful gaps to the favourites. It seems they're going to need them from this 1st stage results.

Good result. Hopefully Sanchez doesn't ride for Ghyllebert if he can't hack it. The hilly stages should be the most selective part of this race.

Looks like Emu is here to attack. Hopefully more breakaways hold off |

Can I just be the first to say how sick I am of this AI? Not chasing the breaks down is bad enough, but also why am I not attacking? I have one rider who is a chance for a top 10 on GC (though not at this rate) and then not much else. I don't have a real sprinter or anything, and yet my guys just sit in the bunch completely anonymous.

Brilliant! Rovira has been great this season. Will be interesting to see how he will do in the rest of the race now. I do suspect, and fear, that he will have both Larsson and Roux waiting for him in the coming stages, but anyway, a great win.
And I'm happy the riders listened when I said we had to make it to the breakaway after the first stage |

Random stage, don't know if I'm going to celebrate or not but its nice that Roche haven't lost time to any favourite on two stages that haven't suited him at all.

Khalmutarov within this break is quite good, I think. He may have a small chance to hang on this GC's Top-15 now.. but as we all know, the following stages may end in succesful breakaways as well

Another very strange stage, though stage 3 and 4 now look key for all the big favourites.
Impey losing touch like that does raise hopes of at least someone going on a break but we shall see.
Confusing race so far for sure.

Probably the weirdest race so far this season.
Happy not to be part of this one as I would probably drove crazy when all plans wouldn`t have worked out in the end and it`s just a pure lottery. |

Wow, Rovira is performing beyond expectations, and it looks like my team did a pretty good job for him aswell. Next stage will be a tough one though, it looks too hard for Rovira, and I do fear Roux/Larsson will help him keep the jersey when Rovira has to let the attackers go, which means I will probably loose a bit too much (jersey and good GCplacings on Roux/Larsson) on the coming stage
But so far it has been great for us, I think we like it unpredictable, at least as long as Alarcon isn't racing. And great reports, CountArach!

Roche looks good, and he hasn't lost any notably time to the other favourites and to see Bianchi mess up like that is a bonus.
Would be great if the next stage will be controlled... let the favourites fight for the stage win for a change!

I am not sure things will be that controlled even in the next stage - but I am guessing the hill will be steep enough for some sort of extra selection.
Red Bull seem to be the team that will not attack and then chase when the favourites do - this does push things in the favour of Nico Roche - though if Gadret can somehow remain on the same time and all those piddly small sh** riders placing in the top 15 riders can get dropped then maybe that will be the tactic that will pay dividends.
More likely a group of 11 or so riders (Ginanni, Di Maggio, LL Sanchez, Froome, Roche etc.) get up the road for the finale - if Roche can mark everyone he is favourite for the race win by winning the sprint for third on stage 3.
