If you want to change the Background color, you can go in Render -> Settings -> Colors -> Background.
Btw about opening the file, what I do is set Nifskope as the standard program for .nif files, then all I need to do is double click the file and wait some seconds. Works good here
@fenian_1234: Can you see your alterations in an equipment in the Cyclist Viewer without needing to create a new cyclist? I prefer Nifskope in this because it automatically updates the equipment if you save the file with the same name.

It's in render >> settings to change the background colour.
Don't know why the .nif file won't open. Has it been edited in some way? All the Specialized helmets I've got work fine. |

Last couple of bikes I made I checked using cyclist viewer. Main advantage was you could see the whole package so better for seeing how the colours would match up. If you reload you can see the alterations you're making. |

What would be reload? Simply choose the frame/equipment again or create a new cyclist?

Well, if you're working with a .psd file you have to save it over the .dds.
Find it quick in cyclist viewer to save a full .ctc (cyclist description) file and then just load it up again once the 'new' .dds is saved. Quicker than constantly choosing the viewer options again and again. |

fenian_1234 would you do me favour and take a screenshot of these blocks in your NifSkope, maybe some of my settings are wrong.

I'm not sure if this matters at all, but how do you try to open the helmets? By going to File -> Open?

When I've finish painting a helmet, do I have to do anything then? Add a texture or something like that.
