Stage 8: Viuz-en-Sallaz - La Plagne
Here we are, in the mountains. Stage 8 provides the first serious mountain stage and also the first mountain top finish - on the HC climb of La Plagne. The stage also includes Col de la Ramaz, Les Gets, Col de Joux Plane, Col de Champs, Col d'Arbon, Col de la Forclaz and the penultimate HC climb of Cormet d'Arêches, at an average of 10%.

I think Cavendish will need more than a car lift here to dream with the green jersey in Paris... may be a helicopter lift.
Looks great by the way!!!

Stage 9: Moûtiers - Briançon
Col de la Madeieine, Col du Glandon, L'Alpe d'Huez, Col du Sarenne and Col du Lautaret. Do I need to say more?

Don't worry, this stage looks a lot harder than it actually is. The pace is usually low until Col du Lautaret, which prevents the sprinters from losing too much time.
Also, the rest of the Tour won't be this hard.

Stage 10: Guillestre - La Mûre
After the two very hard Alpine stages, we are now taking on the shortest stage of this Tour, only 123 km long. It's not easy just because of that though, since the finish line is in La Mûre, which lies at the top of a quite steep hill. The hill is probably not hard enough to create any big gaps between the race favourites, but it's a nice opportunity for a rider like Philippe Gilbert to get a stage win.

3 or 4 hors-category climbs every stage in the Alps.... Good for the spectators, killing for the sprinters.
Can't wait to play it! |

Thanks all. Sorry for not updating with any new stages in the last few days. I had some problems with my computer screen.
I've now finished stage 11, so it's coming up soon.

Stage 11
An easy stage, where even the weakest sprinters will make it to the finish with the peloton. Mass sprint finish or breakaway?

Stage 12: Pernes-les-Fontaines - Bessèges
Stage 12 is neither flat nor mountainous, it's hilly. The difficult part comes when the riders reach the 2nd category climb of Col de Portes, whose summit is just 15 kilometres from the finish line. A strong attack there can actually hold all the way. The flat finish favours riders like Philippe Gilbert and Peter Sagan, if some riders come together to the finish.

Note: I'll take a break from stagemaking, since my motivation is very low. The Tour variant will of course be completed, but it might take some time.
Hope you understand.

Looking great! One (probably nooby) question:
How do I put this into my database so that I keep the original Tour but also have this one (and thus they alternate in different years in Career)? |

If you haven't started the career yet, you place the stage files in CM_stages, add a .descr file for the variant in the folder 'variants' and edit the .rules file of that race so that it includes the new variant.
However it should be said that Pellizotti has stopped working on this tour for a long time now, no idea when or if he'll finish it. His latest work can be found in his new thread:
