The first rider who officaly races for Team Trilux - Falke next season is Thomas Fothen. He is a good sprinter and will probably have some possibilities to show that in 2012, but maily he will be an important lead-out for faster riders.
Further signings will hopfully be revealed later today.

The latest addition for Trilux is Ronny Scholz, an experienced rider with a one-year-contract.
Moreover, Markus Eichler is set to join the squad. Both teams, Trilux and Team Proximus - Trek have agreed on this 250,000-transfer which isn´t sealed yet. Eichler was rumored to Trilux for some time now and will have a key role supporting the team´s leaders.

First of all, Markus Eichler is now offically part of the team. He joins together with Jan Barta, another domestique who also has some roleur qualities.
Some days ago, the HC races Trilux will ride were made public. Most important, the team can enter the Bayern Rundfahrt and the ProRace Berlin, the only German races in this categorie.
The other ten races you can see Trilux are:
Giro del Capo; Tour de Pologne; Vuelta a Burgos; Tour of Britian; Circuit Franco-Belge; Down Under Classics; E3 Prijs; Profronde van Drenthe; Phiadelphia International Championship; Clasica San Sebastian
Most of these races are in Europe, but there are also two possibilities to ride oversea and gain experience there respectivley make the sponsors more popular there.

Obviously we are meeting a lot of times in most HC races. Might be interesting.
Eichler is a nice addition to your team actually. |

More Riders joining Trilux
Another couple of hours has passed, which means some more riders finally signed contracts for 2012. This time, some sprinters can be announced: Ilijo Keisse, another Belgian in the team, and Aleksei Saramotins, Latvian, will be lead-outs, and Saramotins will also be a useful helper for cobbled races.
New sprint leader will be Heinrich Haussler. He is not the fastet guy around, but has much less problems with climbs than many other sprinters have. With a strong team as back-up, he will hopefully score some wins.
Huub Duyn, a Dutch, is another domestique; strong in the flat and also fast in the finish he also will be important in any race he does.

With Sebastian Forke, a German rider who still has some room for improvement, and the French Steven Tronet two more fast riders ride for Trilux in 2012.
Another Latvian rider is now part of the team, and it is Gatis Smukulis, the Latvian Champion. He has a lot of power for flat stages, won´t be dropped on ascending roads and has a fast finish - perfectly for a breakaway win.
With Belgian Tom Criel and the Portugese Sergio Sousa two good mountain riders are added. Both are still go in TTs so especially Sousa will go for good results in some stage races.
Finally, Matthias Kessler joins as captian. He is one of Germany´s strongest punchers and will form a strong dual leadership and hopefully secure some wins for Trilux.
With these signins, the roster is nearly finished.

I really like your team, especially the fact that you have managed to sign 3 german riders who are all capable of making results, especially in the classics!
The battle of the "German CT teams" will surely be interesting to follow this year.

We had quite the battles in the transfer market for some your riders that you have landed. Respect to you for pricing me out on Tronet, Saramotins and Smukalis.
Domestiques that give a little more bang for the buck, I think are useful riders in the CTour.

With the signings of Arnaud Coyot, Gert Rajala and Ruben Zepunkte the team is ready for 2012.
Coyot, a Frech, is a strong rider for cobbled classics and a great helper on flat terrain, while Estonian Gert Rajala is a pure climber.
Loaned out by Volkswagen - Siemens, the young German Zepunkte will ride his first pro season. He is very strong on cobbled roads and will be a top rider in some years, although he probably won´t be part of Trilux then.

The race calendar for the first season is now online. Highlight is the participation in the race Rund um Koln, the only ProTour race for Trilux in 2012.
The other races have a European focus, but there are some races in Asia, Africa and America as well. That is a great chance to gain experience and can rise the popularity of the sponsors there.
Unfortunately, the maximum number of teams for the Tour of the Czech Republik was reached before Trilux asled for an invatation. This means, Trilux lost one target race in 2012, but the team is motivated to score nice results in other races instead.
Further, team manager felix_29 said that Trilux won´t join the competition for the most active twitter account and keep the teams thread as only source of information.

With the Down Under Classic the season started for Trilux. The squad was very motivated, and Thomas Fothen was the first rider to get away.
The breakaway was caught soon, but i didn´t take long until another Triux rider attacked. This time it was Huub Duyn.
Eventually the sprinter teams also caught this group and a mass sprint decided about the winner. Unfortunately, Heinrich Haussler had no teammates left as lead-out Illjo Keisse disappointingly fall back to the second group. Haussler failed to secure a good wheel to follow and when the sprint began he couldn´t battle for the win and came in 10th.
"A top-ten was what we aimed for, but in the end we can´t be satisfied. With a working lead-out and better positioning we could have done much better."
The next race will be the Tour of Wellington with Fabian Wegmann as leader. A good GC result and/or a stage win will be the aim there.

Trilux with a good start in New Zealand
Even without a designated sprinter, Trilux got their first podium finish in the opening stage of the Tour of Wellington.
The strong team was near the front to prevent crashes but left the work to the sprinter teams:
With 5kms to go, Wegmann had a great position behind the favourite Kennaugh:
Then he went, and for a short moment he seems to be able to take the win....
....but Kennaugh and Feillu are stronger and Wegmann drops to third:
This means, Wegmann has already gained 8 seconds on his main rivals for the GC.
"I´m happy with today´s result. It shows i´m in a great form and i can´t wait for tomorrow where another podium is my aim. Why not the highest step then?" Wegmann told after the race.

Strong team effort, Wegmann stays 3rd in GC
The next stage in NZ was the hardest one and should proove that in the finish, were German Aleksander Flügel (Volkswagen-Siemens) was the fastest and took the GC lead.
Trilux was always at the front of this stage, this time also making the pace:
They still controlled the pack when the last climp began:
Unfortunately, Flügel and Froome were strong enough to attack while Wegmann had a bad moment. The two riders gained some advantage they kept until the end, while behind Wegmann sprinted to 4th, behind Kim Kirchen as 3rd.
This means, he is now 57 seconds back in GC, which will be hard to gain on the next stages. He got enough points to now lead the points classification, though.
A few more seconds back, there are Barta, Devenyns and Fahnert all in the top 20. Fahnert now has a comfortable lead in the U25-classification and Trilux moved into 2nd position in the team classification, only 10 seconds behind the strong Jayco - RedBull team.

Wegmann shows his sprint power in NZ
With a fulminat sprint, Fabian Wegmann secured the team´s first ever win.
"I felt strong all day, so i told my teammates to chase the breakaway" said Wegmann after his win.
Trilux making the pace
"In the end, i had a great support. The sprint wasn´t hard to win, but it was very hard to get into the right position." told Wegmann about his final before going on in Cavendish-style:
"The win belongs to the team by 90%, i´m just happy to finished what they worked for."
The sprint train
A dominant win, beating the 2nd, Gasparotto, by two bike-lenghts
Tomorrow, Trilux aims to repeat Wegmann´s win on the hilly stage. Further, they want to gain 10 seconds to Jayco-RedBull to take the teams classification and Markus Fahnert will fight for the win in the young rider classification.
