So first of all some basics!
I will take the new PCM Daily 2011 DB. At this point, I would like to thank
the whole DB crew for this great stuff.
Again I would like to play on hard but don´t expect good results :-)
This is NetApp, not HTC Columbia.. |

Here we go with our captains:
Eric Baumann is our best sprinter and also a big hope for NetApp in this season.
He might be able to get some stages for us
Cozza is a great transfer for us as he is a good time trialist. He had a good time with the Garmin Team,
so he should be able to get some nice result this season
Jesus Del Nero is maybe the greatest rider in our team 2011. He is our man for some smaller stage races.
We´re really excited about the Spanish guy!
Last but not least, Alexander Gottfried! He will be our leader in some hilly races.
I´m sure he´s going for some good results there. |

I´ve got some more information for you about our team!
As every year we searched a long time after the right sponsors for NetApp.
Here they are:
So let´s talk about the goals! Of course we´re a nice Continental Team with a great potential for the next years. Our biggest goal is the Pro Tour! But I´m sure, our team is still not strong enough to achieve this one 2011...maybe 2012 or 2013?
Top 10 "Rund um Köln"
Top 10 "Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt"
Winning the sprinters jersey at "Bayern Rundfahrt"
Top 5 "Schwarzwald Rundfahrt"
Top 3 "Sparkassen Münsterland Giro"
Top 3 "ProRace Berlin"
So these are our goals for 2011. I think our team could be able to achieve some of them! But let´s see how it goes |

By the way! I will try to post some of the most important races our team won´t participate in.
So let´s start with the Australian Championships. Richie Porte and Heinrich Haussler were able to take a nice win and a great start into a long season 2011.

First of all I would like to give you a small view about our team squad.
Our team captain will be Del Nero while Baumann is the man for the sprints. It´s hard to talk about goals in San Luis, but I´m sure we will be able to get some nice results. But let´s see how we manage the first tour in 2011.

The first stage is quite flat which is a nice chance for Eric Baumann to improve his shape. Our main rivals should be Förster, Vigano, Dekkers, Kluge and Kittel. As we really don´t know anything about the shapes I would say a Top 10 result should be ok for the first stage
In the morning, when the stage began, there were some riders breaking away out of the pack. We also sent one rider into this group. Robert Reschke did a great job there and he managed to stay in front with only 15 kilometres to go. Maybe a solo ride and the first stage win for NetApp in 2011 !?
Bad luck for Reschke! The pack was too fast for him in the end but still a nice try by him. Behind the sprint preparation began and Eric Baumann was looking for the best wheel
The sprint began and Eric Baumann was in a nice position. Maybe not the best but still good enough to make a final move within the last 2 kilometres
Only 1000 metres to the finish line and Eric made a nice move. Förster was in front with Dekkers in his slipstream. Baumann was already in the wind, maybe to early?
Well, Baumann wasn´t able to keep it up with the fastest today. Dekkers was the man of stage 1. Förster managed to stay on the podium in front of Kocjan

Second stage in La Punta is the first important one for the overall results. With a nice final climb and many riders who might be able to start an attack, we will see a great stage final with a lot of fun
I´m really sorry about that but I forgot to take screens after the stage...you know it was a long time since my Columbia story
As I said it was a great stage final on the last climb with many favourites, making a move. Visconti was the first one with a nice try. Del Nero was still in the pack, as we thought that Visconti wouldn´t be strong enough to keep up such a great pace. Rigoberto Uran was maybe the biggest favourite for today´s stage win but he wasn´t able to follow Visconti. Well, he didn´t attack out of the pack but with his speed he was able to get some metres to Del Nero&Co. Only Christian Knees and Bencik were able to follow while Visconti was still in front by 40 seconds. And the Italian did it finally! Visconti takes the stage with a great move in front of Rigoberto Uran and Petr Bencik. Del Nero was able to get another Top 10 result for NetApp, he finished as 8th

Third stage is another flat one with great chances for the sprint teams. With two Top 10 results in 2011 we´re pretty happy up to here.
The stage was quite boring until the last 3 kilometres. When the sprint began, Baumann was in a nice position while Förster and Kluge were in front.
The last metres and Eric Baumann looked really fast in the end while Förster and Dekker lead the sprint.
That´s it! The first podium for NetApp in 2011. Baumann takes a great third place behind Förster and Dekker! At least a German won .
