Great performances by Van der Poel & Konrad. Konrad sounded already like a true, experienced pro in a post-race interview. Kennaugh was flying up Sonntagberg (those cobblez <3) , crazy to not have him at le Tour.

Pretty sure Pete would be among the 10-15 climbers in the Tour as Nieve, ludacris he isnt there. Especially since they defended the Tour-team saying he was ill - then he won the road race and a mountain stage in Austria. Skyborg-logic!

It reminds me a bit of Fuglsang 2 years ago, who was pretty pissed at Radioshack for not selecting him for le Tour if I remember correctly and ended up winning the Tour of Austria then. Alas, looking forward to Kitzbühler Horn on tuesday. Cool

The reasoning behind SKY saying he's ill is strange, but maybe it's their new thing after Froome winning Tour de Romandie sick too? Wink

Who is Fuglsang? Pretty sure you mean FuGELsang, as the Eurosport commentators pronounce it. If they just would stick to Birdsong Pfft

But yeah, reminds me a lot of that to. Pete is definetely talented enough to be a GC-contender in the GT's in a year or two, he should get his arse out of that team.

This looks suspiciously like a breakaway win, I'd be highly surprised if he did that from the peloton.

Nice to see little Nairo's little brother make the step up and get his first pro win - in a pretty big stage as well. Those two could be quite a pair in the future, from what I've heard Smile

According to Sporza Nairo said that his little brother is even more talented than him. Hard te believe, though.

Wasn't that just him helping his brother get a contract?

Footage from Österreich Rundfahrt on ORF. The other stages are there too. I suppose anybody who's not from Austria will need a proxy to watch it though.

EDIT Some info: 10 men breakaway, Mohoric was in there too alongside Quintana. Sutherland and Villela for example too. When the peloton reached Kitzbühel, it rained and at the start of Kitzbühler Horn it was about 1'40 lead for the break. The rain was real tough, but Dayer prevailed and kept his lead really solid over this hellish tough climb. He had to zig-zag at one point. 4 kilometers from top, his lead was still 1 minute, whilst others of the break were caught by then. So he kept his lead mostly throughout the climb, impressive feat by him. He also called his brother later and told that Europe knows of two fast Quintanas now. Wink
Ian Boswell with some solid work for Kennaugh apparently, though at later point it all broke apart. Caruso made some real effort dropping Kennaugh but Kennaugh - and Moreno (MOV) mostly too - hang on.
Hardly any footage from Konrad, who couldn't hold up with Caruso and Kennaugh, but great stuff. Hoping for some nice contract next season for him on PCT level. Kennaugh said, he looked out to never go into the red and just pace himself - obviously it worked out. Zoidl still looking for form.

If Herklotz did this you'd well ... better not say what you would do Pfft

Anyhow Dayer with good win, not sure why people care about Kennaugh, in all honesty, is it not better to win a preety big race than to work as a domestique all day long for 3 weeks.. ? Sky already have enough moutain support at Tour anyhow, plus Froome styled attacks mean it will be mano-a-mano a lot anyway.

Kennaugh will be doing Vuelta GC and this is a nice prep for him, Pologne up next.

I hope that is the case. I was baffled by his exclusion from the line up but it makes sense and I think he deserves his chance in Spain.
