Stromeon: happy to have you on board (though I think you have commented a couple of times before). And thanks if it was "purely fictional" I couldn't have written that last week better myself!

Bayern Rundfahrt

For us this is mainly a chase for stage wins as the team consists of riders out of shape, domestiques from California and Rasmus Quaade who is aiming for the TT.

i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/05-23-Bayern_zpsedbd4c27.jpg
We got in the break on both of the first two days and on the second Riis even managed to take the stage win just ahead of the chasing peloton.

Stage three became all about protecting the GC lead.

i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/05-23-Bayern-2_zps51531c86.jpg
On the TT Quaade does what he came for setting the by far best time 33 seconds ahead of Willy and 56 seconds faster than Tobias with 60 riders still to come. He holds on to the lead throughout the day and everyone does well to protect it on the last stage.

Stage Results

Stage 1: Goss (Saxo) / Boivin / Favilli
Stage 2: Riis (Volvo) / Goss / Iglinsky
Stage 3: Favilli (CCC) / Boivin / Goss
Stage 4: Quaade (Volvo) / Boasson Hagen / Schäfer
Stage 5: Goss (Saxo) / Boivin / Favilli

Rider of the Month: Igor Antón, Cofidis. Winning two jerseys and three stages in the Giro before finishing 2nd was according the UCI the biggest achievement in cycling this year…
Nordic rider of the month: Jakob Fuglsang, Volvo – SAS. What a Giro from the Dane. He was beaten more than once, but managed to pull new tricks out of the hat to beat a better climber. Just amazing!

Atlantius, manager of Volvo – SAS

This month we have a feature article from the Volvo – SAS management for you.
At this time of the year contracts are being renewed and for some riders to find new challenges. Volvo – SAS has decided to let four riders go:

Lars Ytting Bak
Lars has decided to end his career at age 35. We have been extremely privileged to have him on the team for three years, where he has not only helped the team greatly but also gave us our first GT-stage in the 2013-giro, a Vuelta stage in 2014 and several other good results.

Christofer Stevenson
Stevenson has been part of the project since it started, but mostly as a great domestique and breakaway rider. Now at age 33 he has build a great reputation and still has a few good years left in him. We hope to help him find a team where he will more often get the chance to chase hos own success.

Christopher Juul-Jensen
Christopher joined the team three years ago, and have been a valuable member of the team though we had hoped he would be able to achieve. He is now too old to chase young riders jerseys and we don’t think he has much more development to make. For that reason he need to get to another weaker team where he can be a captain, cause he has the ability to win races.

Rasmus Sterebo
A young rider, who have developed nicely the last three years, but now it is time for our roads to part. He has several times showed that he is able to win races at CT-level, but isn’t physically strong enough to win at WT-level. And apparently not determined enough to become stronger…

Two high-profile Nordic rider have ending contracts, but we expect to mainly fill the vacancies with fresh talent from the U23

i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/transfernews_zps45d025d1.jpg

Endura Racing have had some good results lately, and that have probably helped in convincing O2 to be main sponsor of the team next year.

i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/transfer_zpsdf01994d.jpg

Saur – Sojasun are among the favourites for promotion to the WT, and they have apparently set their eyes on Fabio Duarte to strengthen the team in the mountains.

After two years apart ISD – Ferrari have allegedly decided they want Damiano Cunego back on the team.

Apparently Bjarne Riis has now forgiven Andy Schleck for leaving him so dramatically back in 2010. At least they are rumoured to be negotiating a new contract. Obviously those rumours have let to speculations about Nibalis future on the team. Should he not get a new contract Rabobank has declared they have an offer for the Italian.

In other news Ivan Basso has decided to end his career by the end of the season saying goodbye to the Giro with a respectful 7th place and a stage win.

Great month and a great 1-2 in Germany. I'm sure this story will soon hit 100 pages as well and that is an achievement very few stories achieve Smile

Atlantius
SSJ2Luigi: Lets just see if Nibbles accept the offer from Rabo Wink Will probably sign a young Finnish rider among others...

francopell: Thanks, as long as I have followers and enjoy the career there's no reason to stop Wink

Critérium du Dauphiné
Half of the Tour-squad is here to prepare, while a few others will be looking to take advantage of their Giro-form.

Machado is the first rider with a real bet to challenge Alex, but he is four seconds too slow!

Obviously we can’t neglect mentioning Cancellara either. He has the capacity to beat Rasmussen and does so by 6 seconds.

Expected to be a bunch sprint, but those two bumps on the middle could make things interesting…

They actually almost make it, but almost is not close enough as the sprinters have their eyes on this one.

Cavendish is delivered a bit early and has to see Pelucchi take a highly surprising win.

A lot of riders lost time due to a crash in the last 5 km. Once again all our key riders were placed ahead of the crash and Alex gets the leaders jersey.

The team looked awesome in Germany at Bayern Rundfahrt Grin

And they are looking good already at the Dauphine Wink

Miguel98
Super performance by Quaade on Germany. And good placement for the win.

sutty: It's easy to look awesome when you have the best team in the race (Bayern, not as much Dauphine) Wink

Miguel: Thanks

I just want to let everyone know that I really appreciate that you keep following in spite of this being run on such an "old" game!

The old game is a classic Wink PCM11 is a good game in my opinion and it doesn't take anything away from the story at all.

I might not comment much, but loving the story Smile
