And he wasn't a GT rider. He was a classic rider, who had won Liege - Bastogne - Liege U23 (tell me if I'm wrong). So I wouldn't agree with your point.

You're right. He won LBL Espoirs in 2008.
So yeah, more of a classics rider than a GT specialist. Unless my memory fails me, I think he was pretty decent in the time trials as well.

U23 LBL All-Time results
Yes it was.

Incomprehensibly stupid. Sneaky interesting idea that would work if the UCI wasn't only second to FIFA in the sports leagues that are still caught in 1967 rankings. What if you created like a 100-person body to select the teams that are in the WT. Basically, any team could apply, and the body would all select their top 18, with the most appearances on the list deciding if you stayed up, and ties decided by a tie-braker round.
Maybe do thirty press voters, thirty retired pros as voters, twenty retired others (team managers, etc.), ten slots reserved for non-Europeans (regardless of background, as rider, manager, etc., also no reason others couldn't be elected into the normal ex-pros/managers body), and ten selected by an online fan vote.
Wouldn't that make a lot more sense? |

That seems like an idea with a lot of possible loopholes/corruption that could be involved. And I don't think it would be totally fair.
Getting the teams based on the points they score from results is the most logical idea - the dumb part is the part where the riders transfer teams and with them goes their points (something like half/half would be much better). And also the part that WT riders only score in WT races.

Andreas Stauff follows Ciolek to MTN Quebeka.
He had a good first season for Quickstep as leadout for Boonen in many races but stagnated a bit. |

Yet another climber. This is getting ridiculous. Sky might be looking to repeat the TdF train in the Giro and Vuelta as well. |

I really, really hope not. 2013 could be quite boring that way |

I doubt they will do it at the TDF at least. Froome is a very different climber to Wiggins, which is to say he can accelerate. Combine that with Contador and probably Schleck back in action, the climbing will likely be more aggressive next year.

I was wondering about that the other day. Not hugely surprising and honestly he could probably take some results too.

Good signing, he's got 13 wins this season already, and despite his past, I think he's a good rider that can fight for top-10 results in sprint finishes. |

So Lampre is definitely this year's AG2R.

Btw, I didn't know that next year Lampre will be Lampre-Merida. |

Movistar wants a smaller squad next season, 26 riders max
(THEN WHY ARE YOU SIGNING SO MANY SUPERFLUOUS CLIMBERS, DIP****S???)
Samoilau and Iriarte are not getting renewals. With Sanz, Arroyo, Pardilla and Gutiérrez the situation is undecided so far.

I'd keep Pardilla and let the rest go if I was in charge.
Arroyo really hasn't done much since the 2010 Giro.
