Thanks tsmoha. How much do I owe you for this?
Let's say Schädlich for free? Please keep his wage as low as possible
This U23 generation obviously not made for breakaway chasing! Tough one for Zabel after his Avenir disaster. From my point of view, it was nice to see an Aussie attacking as first and Wohler showing himself in the final lap. Kinda bummer for many followers, I guess. But CZE and GER couldn't pull this huge breakaway back on their own.

And a review of PCM13, isn't? At least in CT, this is no news this season..
I'm sorry, Heine. Zabel with the worst case scenario in Avenir and here...

Zabel will get many wins in his career though. Frison might never win anything again.
But indeed Zabel was unlucky in this years U23 events,
CountArach must be unhappy as well asking me pre season for a Frison (72TT, 77max) with maxed Van Aelbroeck (75 TT). |

Orlov, what a hero he is!
Signed as stagiare, gets a fourth place in Zagreb - Ljubljana and now seventh here, will be fun to have him on my team the coming years

Altanzul gets in that break and he becomes a national hero...
Great win for Frison though, glad to see roturn getting another WC after Boom in 2012. Hopefully the main race comes down to a sprint though, with all the big guns here. Thanks once again tsmoha, I'm out of superlatives |

And quite a few times in PCT aswell. Heck, half of the Tour of Britain was won by breaks. I wonder what will happen in the elite RR. The teams should be strong enough to close the gaps, but i think the real danger in the elite RR will come from mid stage breaks with second row favorites. There's quite a few of them .

With this AI I wouldn't be too surprised if Vaitkus could upset everyone here, I mean He's definately strong enough to put in a late attack and outsprint any other attackers following him. Oh please, let that happen...

That was a pretty cool race that, I'd love a breakaway win at the World's. Lutsenko sprinted pretty damn well there in the end. Thanks for the reports!

Very intense finish with the breakaway just making it! Congratulations, roturn
Not much to say about my riders, must admit it would have been cool to see Dyrnes or Bystrøm in that breakaway, but let's instead cross fingers they join a similar attack in the elite race.
Thanks for the well-written report, tsmoha!

You could spin some yarn about Germany being left on their own to chase and not being strong enough to bring back the break.
But we all know it was really down to poor AI - that said it was always a risk here that the pack would not reel in such a large break.
Germany though are a real youth powerhouse in mangame. unlucky for Zabel but a good future star nethertheless.

Quite curious that such a large break was able to form - in the B Worlds the peloton chased down all the attacks as soon as more than 3/4 riders got clear.
Not sure what to think about a break winning a Worlds event, but congrats to roturn and Frison - nice to see a rider who has been a Stagiare in the past, so not initially a big target, getting a big win.
10th for Eyob is pretty great for Eritrea on a route like this, with the team being pretty passive in both B Worlds and here. Morton seemed pretty strong but poor tactics in using up too much effort pre-sprint.
Disappointed for the U23 sprinters though.

WTF, RYAN!!
Don't care if it's "only" 5th, that was a terrific ride and the best result of his season.

Thrilling race. Thanks Tsmoha for the report!
Congratulations Roturn, you've got a good relationship in the worlds. Expecting a kaBoom at the elite again?
Now we've got 1 all between BA and Sprint. We'll see how the tie is broken... I think there will be a sprint.

Thanks all for the congratulations.
Quite funny actually that my first real 2014 breakaway win is the one, that is not helping me against relegation. |

I know everyone would hate it, but my fingers are crossed for another breakaway win or surprise late attack to steal the elite RR.
(It's the only chance I got for one of my riders to win.)

More fantastic reporting as part of the World Championship coverage. If only the tv coverage in the UK was so well infomed; sad that we are better off with internet streaming coverage from abroad .
AI not the best, but that was a big break to give freedom to, and U23 teams don't really have the depth of 'grunt' to facilitate chasing.

nice victory for Frison, at least the break away occurred here rather than in the real thing, go GB!
