It shouldnt always be country based but it is likely that organizers willwork that way, however sponsors and money will certainly make a difference as well.

I'm not sure if this had already been mentioned but this is the first I've seen of it. Quintana has confirmed that he will be aiming at the Giro this year then riding the Vuelta. Valverde will be the leader at the Tour.

Apparently Ballan is not holding a grudge against BMC since he's training with them at their camp. Makes sense to read at the same time that Gilbert says he's close to his Spring 2011 level again.

I think you are reading a bit too much into that. It is odd he's at their camp, but there is no reason his presence would be indicative of doping. Probably the opposite, if they are in fact then they'd probably want him at arm'h length, after handing him a reasonable sum so he doesn't do any interviews
Even so, it's probably Gilbert talking himself up, doesn't mean he'll actually do ok. |

I'm know I'm connecting distant dots, but there were already enough reasons to call them Phonak 2.0 before.
On Ballan alone, it shows the hypocrisy of the team, sacking him for a doping offence, yet allowing him to train with them. Quite reminiscent of Valverde/Movistar a couple of years ago. |

I also posted it a couple of pages back. Can confirm that it will happen.
When you can't decide between two options, flip a coin. Not because the result of the coin will choose for you, but because, in that split second before the coin lands, you'll know what side you want it to fall on.

Well Wiggins done it, Geraint could too. And Geraint lacks in the classics so far, last year crashed out in all 3 of them. He climbs fairly well already for being a flat rouler, if he decides to go full at it, you never know what he can become.

You mean with drugs he could win the Tour. Yes i imagine it's possible. Would rather see him go Classics though, it's been ages since we had a Brit do well in that Terrain

Well it all depends whether he can actually not crash for once. I think Sky are determined to give him the opportunity by not brining any more experienced leaders for classics, but that might change if no opportunities are taken this year.

The problem (apart from crashing obviously) is he has to keep sharing the leadership with EBH. EBH would make a great super domestique for him over most of the terrains he could perform well on. Throw the entire team behind Thomas and they could have a decent shot at something. Certainly at least better than their current results.
