A pan flat criterium around the city of Palma, the stage itself is quite short, only 110 kilometer.
There was no question, that this stage would become a mass-sprint, the only thing to decide was only the winner. We tried to latch to the wheel of an other sprinter with Kowalski and this tactic worked out quite well for us, as the polish got 3rd, only beaten by Coquard, who took the stage with ease ahead of Daniel Oss. Great way to start!
| 1 | Bryan Coquard | Team Europcar | 2h30'23 | | 2 | Daniel Oss | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | | 3 | Tomasz Kowalski | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | | 4 | Elia Viviani | Cannondale Pro Cycling | s.t. | | 5 | Jeffry Romero | Colombia | s.t. |
Another flat stage here in Mallorca, but this is the last one of them. Let's see what we can do.
As yesterday, today's stage finished too in a mass sprint, but this time Daniel Oss had the power to make it! He won the stage ahead of our very own Tomasz Kowalski, who was followed by yesteday's winner, Bryan Coquard.
| 1 | Daniel Oss | BMC Racing Team | 3h59'20 | | 2 | Tomasz Kowalski | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | | 3 | Bryan Coquard | Team Europcar | s.t. | | 4 | Leonardo Duque | Colombia | s.t. | | 5 | Francesco Gavazzi | Astana Pro Team | s.t. |
A hilly stage, to break the monotonity of the sprints. We'll ride for our 3 free elements...
After some tough pace-making attacks, it was a group of three getting a lead on the peloton. Out of this trio, it was portuguese Rui Costa taking the stage-win, ahead of the spanish duo of Moreno and LL Sánchez. The best Spider was Dasko, who came in 6th after trying some nice attacks.
| 1 | Rui Costa | Movistar Team | 3h56'21 | | 2 | Daniel Moreno | Katusha Team | s.t. | | 3 | Luis León Sánchez | Blanco Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | | 4 | Marco Pinotti | BMC Racing Team | + 55 | | 5 | Jarlinson Pantano | Colombia | s.t. | | 6 | Filip Dasko | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. |
The all-deciding hilly stage. Who will take the yellow and the stage-win?
It's almost the same as it was yesterday! The same guys as yesterday on the podium, just the order is switched up. It's LL Sánchez winning today, Moreno got 2nd again, while Rui Costa took the 3rd. That means, that the overall goes to Blanco's Luis León Sánchez. The best Spider on the stage was Dasko again with a 6th place, while in the GC Kowalski came in 5th, taking the best Spider position from Dasko, as well as winning the white jersey.

Fine work by the team in Mallorca! No stage win, but u25 jersey and top 5 on GC more than make up for that!
Looking forward to Dupont's debut in Qatar

Thanks guys for all the comments!
A flat stage of the many, let's see some action!
Surprise! It wasn't a mass sprint, the peloton couldn't catch the breakaway on time, so Klaas Lodewyck won the stage! He was the only one, that stood away, huge performance! Farrar came 2nd, while Borut Bozic got the 3rd. Our best finisher was Pye, getting 6th.
| 1 | Klaas Lodewyck | BMC Racing Team | 3h07'18 | | 2 | Tyler Farrar | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | | 3 | Borut Božic | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | . | . | . | | 6 | Mike Pye | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. |
Short TTT, I had simulate it...
There is our first win of the season! A TTT! How good is that? That puts us into position to go for the GC! Wesley, the team did its objective. Can you please do yours?
1 | SpiderTech - Cervélo | 9h33'38 (1) | 2 | Team Argos - Shimano | + 16 (2) | 3 | IAM Cycling | + 31 (3) | 4 | BMC Racing Team | + 31 (4) | 5 | Garmin - Sharp | + 45 (6) | 6 | FDJ | + 45 (5) | 7 | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | + 55 (7) | 8 | Astana Pro Team | + 55 (8) | 9 | Cannondale Pro Cycling | + 1'06 (9) | 10 | Vini Fantini - Selle Italia | + 1'06 (10) | 11 | Champion System Pro Cycling Team | + 1'14 (11) | 12 | Orica - GreenEdge | + 1'14 (12) | 13 | MTN - Qhubeka | + 1'18 (14) | 14 | An Post - Chainreaction | + 1'18 (13) | 15 | Accent Jobs - Wanty | + 1'31 (15) | 16 | Drapac Cycling | + 1'40 (16) | 17 | Team Europcar | + 1'40 (17) |
A flat profile again, get used to that.
We made our train near the end, it was Pye-Kim-Bányai-Hoogenboom-(Thompson). This was the lineup we used on every stage, the guys were doing great.
It's a quite close call it seems like, who is going to take it? HOOGENBOOM! He wins stage 3, getting the GC lead too! Eeckhout is the 2nd and Ponzi came 3rd...
| 1 | Wesley Hoogenboom | SpiderTech - Cervélo | 3h23'39 | | 2 | Nico Eeckhout | An Post - Chainreaction | s.t. | | 3 | Simone Ponzi | Astana Pro Team | s.t. |
You know what it is...
Will Hoogenboom repeat? We try to set up the train, it works, but he just doesn't have the legs today... He gets 4th, Ponzi wins the day, Veelers and Bozic round out the podium.
| 1 | Simone Ponzi | Astana Pro Team | 3h17'56 | | 2 | Tom Veelers | Team Argos - Shimano | s.t. | | 3 | Borut Božic | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | | 4 | Wesley Hoogenboom | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. |
It's the 5th stage, it's pan-flat again. No problems, we'll try again with the train.
This was the same as yesterday. Not bad execution, just couldn't finish it. Veelers wins the day and comes close to yellow, Boeckmans 2nd, while Eeckhout is oldie but goldie.

6th flat. Nothing new. Train,sprint,...
Yeah, we did it again! Wesley with another victory! Comfortably, with ease, no better way to do it! Boeckmans and Eeckhout again on the podium. Jeez, they're consistent!

Wait, what? You lowered my spider points
Is this the appreciation for the nice points I gathered for the team?
3 jerseys for stage 6 + stage-win, no?
So in total 5 points, no?
But now it's back to 4...

Thanks guys for all the comments!
Jesleyh, I intended to give you 5, but after all I didn't give a bonus point to Kowalski in Mallorca. I try to be as fair as as possible with everyone, it's not a mathematically calculated thing. It's all about my feelings, so that's why it might not be consistent. Anyways, it'll even itself in a couple months, so no worries!
Stromeon, just wait till Andalucia!
